Where is the PCV valve on a 2003 trailblazer?

There is no typical PCV valve in these trucks. There is a ventilation tube that is connected to the bottom of the Resonator box that sits on top of the motor. Says "Vortec 4200" on it. When you take the box off to clean the throttle body - yes clean it if you want to correct idle or stumbling when AC is on - you must ensure that it is reconnected along with the fuel Pressure switch vacuum tube.

Where is the PCV valve on a 2002 Pontiac Bonnevelle?

This answer is false there IS a PCV on a 2002 Bonneville. It is located on the Intake manifold on the left hand side. There is a sensor mounted on top of it. You need to disconnect the sensor first, then twist the sensor to the left and pull it off. It has an o ring underneath be sure to not loose this, and the PCV valve is now in plain view. Pull it out with a pair of needle nose pliers. It also has an o ring wrapped around it. This should come out with the valve to be reused. =) there is not one even though the books call for a fram 299 pcv valve so dont worry bout it

Where is the PCV Valve on a 1989 Acura Legend?

It's on the front valve cover. The trick is you have to first remove the "breather chamber" by removing the 2 bolts on top. With the breather chamber cover off, you'll see the PCV valve screwed into the valve cover.

How do you fill and change the gearbox oil in 2001 Toyota hilux?

THIS IS FOR A MANUAL ONLY

HOW TO DRAIN THE OIL

There is a bung plug (24mm bolt) on the bottom which is used to drain the oil, replace bung after draining the oil.

HOW TO REPLACE OIL

There is an identical 24mm bung on the left hand side, about half way along and about half way up the side.

Remove the SIDE bung and pump oil in until it just starts to come back out the (SIDE) bung hole, then replace the side bung and your finished.

IMPORTANT: Make sure the oil pump hose is all the way in the bung hole, they tend to have a long threaded hole and if the oil hose is not in properly the oil will come back out and you might mistake it for being full.

Its also a good idea to know how much oil your gearbox is suppose to have, this can be found in owners manual. This will help make sure you have enough oil to do the job and make sure you replace enough oil.

You will need an oil pump, i brought one from "Auto Barn" for $19

What is the ignition timing for 1988 Toyota pickup?

Advancing the timing will not make the valves clatter, it will make the engine detonate if you're not running higher octane fuel! 5 degrees btdc is correct, and you can go as far as 3 degrees either way and still stay smog compliant (in California atleast) but advancing may cause detonation, which if left unchecked will cause severe damage to your engine!

look on underside of hood there is a sticker.

The timing on the 22re should be set at 5 DBTDC. It can be set ahead to 8 or 12 BDC if it doesnt cause the engines valves to "clatter" and "knock".

Where is fuel pump relay for 1990 Toyota pick-up?

How do you reset the maintenance light on a 2004 Toyota RAV4?

For my 2006 Rav4, it has changed just a bit. The technique is the same, however, you apply it to the Trip A odometer instead of the actual mileage odometer.

I ran into the same problem with our '04 Toyota Rav4. I came across this website on reset the light. It mentions that "it may result in damage to your car's engine." How, I don't know. I'm thinking about trying to reset it as shown on this website, not sure yet. See for yourself. Cut and paste this link into your browser. Let me know what you think. Please reply.

This answer really is no help at all - go back to another poster's question "How do you reset the "Maintenance Required light on a 2004 Rav4" and you get the directions that work - they worked for me! Just continue to keep the odometer button pushed in until the light resets.

Turn ignition to the on position, depress the odometer selection button until it reads the total mileage. Then turn ignition off, whilst in off position depress odo button again, whilst maintaining button depressed turn ignition to the on position, the mileage will then change to read ------, then count down to -, then 000000, then back to the driven mileage. The light should then be extinguished. Refer to handbook pages 114-117.

Go to your Toyota dealership to avoid problems later on. You never know if you try to do it yourself and you end up making the situation worse. Let them look it over and reset it for you if necessary. That way, if they mess up they have to fix it.

Work for the Toyota Corolla 2005 as well. I reset the Maintenance Required light on my car by following the same instructions on this website for the RAV4. Turn ignition on to see odometer reading, set odometer to actual mileage, turn ignition off, depress odometer button and hold it while turning ignition on again. It will reset to 00000 and then to actual mileage. Maintenance required light will go off.

The maintenance light is really just an, as my dad calls them, "idiot light". It's meant to go off every 5,000 miles, and is a prompt to get your oil changed. If you have the oil changed somewhere besides the dealer, they probably won't remember to reset the light. (And the dealer doesn't always remember either, but if THEY don't, I bring it back and make them reset it just because they should know better, dag nab it!) If you record the mileage when you reset it, you'll see that it starts flashing a couple of hundred miles before the 5,000 mile marker, and then stays lit once you've hit 5,000 miles. My understanding is that it is NOT tied to any system, the way the check engine light is.

This method also works for 2009 Toyota Corolla (I have the S type). The way I did what by selecting the Trip A or 1, not the ODO (or total number of miles). But after this procedure the light is gone. My understanding is that this light is only to remind the driver that the oil change is due. I think most of the drivers do not need these type of annoying reminders.

If the water pump is bad on a '92 Toyota SR5 V-6 pickup will the water start pouring out Or is there a plug that came out when it overheated?

there is a bypass hose that connects to the bottom drivers side of the pump. its right next to the thermostat housing. if that popped off, it would pour coolant out. i suspect that's your problem. a water pump would have to be REALLY bad for water to pour out of it. its not impossible though. to check remove the timing cover and fill the engine with coolant through the water outlet to the radiator. that way you'll be able to see if its coming from the pump. if not there are freeze plugs on either side of the block below the exhaust manifolds, check them to see if one came out

How do you access the expansion valve on a 1987 Toyota pickup?

Replacing expansion valve on Toyota p.u.The expansion valve is located in and with the evaporator, inside the evaporator case. This case is a somewhat square, plastic enclosure located directly behind the glove box on this vehicle. Replacing the expansion valve requires removing the glovebox and the brace in front of it, disconnecting all wiring attached to the blower housing (located next to the evaporator case, disconnecting the hoses attached on the engine side of the firewall, removing several (10mm) bolts/screws that hold the evaporator case to the firewall and ultimately, removing the evaporator case from the vehicle. Once this is done, the case is held together by several Philips screws and one or two clips. Always 'backup' wrenches when removing a valve so as not to rip the liquid line or suction line off and always clean the mating area of the capillary tube and wrap it with new tacky tape. Don't foget to use new o-rings lubed lightly with refrigeration oil. It is important to remember to discharge the system BEFORE this procedure using approved recovery/recycling equipment or have this done by a qualified technician. It is also important to note that if you are replacing the valve because it is restricted or exhibiting intermittent closure (which are the only logical reasons to do so, [unless you have somehow determined that the valve itself is leaking {very rare for the actual valve of this type, likely the o-rings have corrosive build-up}]) that you will definitely want to remove the receiver drier (the system filter), flush the system using approved flush method(s) and chemicals and replace the drier with a new one. After all, if the valve stopped up or acting up, there must be trash in the system, and if you do not flush and replace the drier, you will be doing this again in the very near future! Remember not to open the drier or install it until you are ready to close the system as the drier contains dessicant material which will absorb moisture from the atmosphere and be ruined. Also, be sure to replace any (refrigeration) oil lost during this procedure, plus about 1.5 additional ounces. You must also be informed that, as a possible consequence of a restricted expansion valve where a system has been run for ANY length of time, there is always the possibility of a compressor problem (locking up) at some point in the future (from oil starvation). Before introducing refrigerant to the system, the system must be 'evacuated' (vacuumed to have air removed). Air in the system causes corrosive build-up and acids which lead to evaporator core and other aluminum part leaks. Check the label on the vehicle for the proper refrigerant charge. It is likely somewhere around 32 ounces (R12 type refrigerant. And the proper oil is 525 viscosity mineral). If the system has been (properly) converted to R134a, use Pag I, or low viscsity (46 weight) oil and about 10 ounces less than the R12 charge (IF it has been PROPERLY converted. It is illegal to mix refrigerants and ALL other refrigerants other than R12 and R134a are NOT approved by BOTH the EPA AND care manufacturers and some may containg flammable substance [illegal in all states]). Good luck and let us know how you make out.
