Vehicle Cigarette Lighters

It is situated behind the pales surrounding the cigarette lighter. Simply clip the panel off from the sides and the fuse will be visible at the back. This will come off with ease. Simply replace fuse and reclip panel back on. Will take no more than 10 mins to change.

A cigarette lighter fuse is normally a 15 or 20 amp fuse depending on what other accessories are using that circuit. I doubt that it is a 30 amp fuse. Maybe someone installed the wrong fuse.

I have a '94 shadow that blew the lighter fuse which took out the radio as well. Changing the fuse seemed to help the lighter but the radio still does not work. My guess is that the ground is bad. In your case that may be as well. A way to check is to find an alternate ground, Door Screws, etc. and test the lighter independently for power. If it has power that way then it is definitely a ground problem. As these have plastic dash boards, nothing will work if it is not properly grounded to the chasis at nearly every point. Hope this helps.

I don't know if this would help, but maybe. I just had the same problem on my 1996 Rivera. In my case, there are two main fuse boxes located under the back seat. On your model they may be located somewhere else. AT any rate, I replaced the 30 AMP fuse in one of the boxes and my cigarette lighter started working again. The funny thing is I went to ALLdata & subscribed for $25 per year, well worth it, to get the fuse layout & callouts. My situation was the pwr fuel cap actuator & the trunk release actuator, would not operate, so I couldn't put in gas or open the trunk, as this operated from the door handle console. Once I replaced this fuse, the situation was every thing worked including my cigarette light. Of all the callouts on the fuses, not one called out for "cigarette lighter" Gil Raker

I believe it is # 23 (inside on left side)

under the drivers side dash board, and under the hood on the drivers side right behind the battery.

It is under the instrument panel, left of the steering column.

There is a button to push that releases the fuse block and it drops down.

Be very careful, there is a large red wire coming from the power distribution block under the hood. It is in a connector with a green wire. They connect to the back of the fuse block.

This wire feeds the heater blower among other things.

If it is loosened in any way, it will overheat and melt the connector and damage the fuse block.

I know from personal experience. I am looking for a fuse block and connector.

on the 01 spectras the fuse is located in the drivers side kick panel by the floor

There is a fuse cabin below the steering wheel on the left. Open it and inside the lid has the details of all fuses. Also check your Owners manual.

I wish someone would answer. I have the same problem. All three outlets dead.

open the pass door and look on the side of the dashboard for the fusebox. It is a yellow 20 amp fuse.

( # 28 ) is for the front cigarette lighter and ( # 22 ) is for the rear cigarette

Both fuses are yellow color , 20 amp

i have a 94 town and country and the fuse that runs my lighter is the one that runs the horn. it is located under the steering column. i have to get a flashlight and turn upside down to be able to see the fuses. i am not for sure the exact one but i do know that it is a 20. see if this can help you any.

On the passenger side of the dashboard is your Cabin Fuse block , Remove the cover and on the inside , should be a Numeric label of the fuses and there locations

Change the fuse.

To fix a driver's side backdoor that won't open on a 1992 Suburban, first check the door latch mechanism for any obstructions or damage. Remove the interior panel to access the latch and cable, inspecting for any broken components. If the latch is stuck, lubricate it with a penetrating oil. If the cable is broken or disconnected, replace or reattach it to restore functionality.

if is located in the right fuse panel. 2 Row From the bottom and count in 5 from the left its number 35. (20 amp)

I also am trying to make the cigarette lighter work in my 19999 Cabrio; to use it for a phone charger. I have found out this much. The cigarette lighter (CL) fuse does not seem to be one of the 22 fuses that are easy to reach under the dash, in the obvious fuse compartment. Above that row of 22 fuses is a number of square relays. about 1.5 inches square metal boxes with numbers on them.

Above those are 5-6 fuses. According to the manual, the CL fuse is up in this area.

Very hard to reach.

If you push the white clips up on either side of the fuse panel, the whole fuse and relay panel drops down a little (you have to lift it over the holding supports. (very easy). I happened to have removed the black plastic surrounding the fuse box, and I removed the 6 screws holding the cover below th estyering wheel in place. There are two 15 amp (the manual say the CL fuse is 15 amp) in the area above the relays. One is upper left corner (I found it hiding behind a piece of rubber or wire harness) and is a normal plastic see-through fuse. The other is about an inch below that and is a metal fuse about 1" wide and 1/4 inch thick. 15 amps is printed on it. It clips into place. I am going to the auto store tomorrow hoping to find a replacement of this little metal fuse.
