How can you lower the front of your 1970 Volkswagen beetle?

If it's NOT a Super Beetle (struts) then just search for - lowered front end for Beetle - and you should get alot of hits for parts and info on exactly how. Depends on how much you want to spend and and "how low ya wanna go". Don't forget to tell them what Wheels and Tires you want or have as there is only so much room under the fenders unless you want to buy wider fenders. www2.cip1.com Toplineparts.com (for Super Beetles) mamotorworks.com/acvw and a lot more...

Wanted to add: Super Beetles can be lowered also, suggest using lowering struts and springs although it is possible to modify the original struts if you are a good welder/fabricator. There are numerous narrowed beam type setups for using wider wheels and tires and give room for turning the tires when the car is lowered. There are adjusters which can be welded into the original beams that is the easiest way, again requires a good welder fabricator. There are also lowering spindles which will add disc brakes at the same time, be aware that they can widen the front track a little. A combination of a narrowed beam with adjusters and lowering spindles seems to be the popular setup.

How do you fix a drivers side window that clicks instead of winding all the way up on a 1970 Bug?

Apparently after 36 years the window regulator needs some lubrication ! I removed the window and then the regulator and then lubed the whole of the regulator using a silicone spray. Fixed ! Getting the regulator and window back in the door was a whole other story.

High revving of engine 5000 - 6000 rpms until it warms up on a 2000 VW New Beetle?

If your doing it on purpose then DON'T.

If the engine is doing it via the computer you need to take it into the shop and have them look at it. There seems to be a bad sensor telling the computer wrong information. Running at a high rpm when the motor is cold and with no load is not good for it.

1973 super beetle light for heater lever illumination?

Get the Robert Bentley service manual to show you how to remove it. I got mine form Lowes or Ace or one of the chains like that.

I am sorry but I HAVE a hardback of Bentleys manual and no where within it does it cover anything about the light other than in the wiring diagram, where it says it is on track 56 ( whatever THAT means cos they do not tell you that either) and they call it "Light for lever illumination". No section on it anywhere nor what type of bulb or how to replace it. really sucks!

What does a 73 super beetle have an alternator or generator?

I believe the early '73s had Generators and the late '73s had Alternators. It depends on what the previous owners put on? (It may have been the '74s tho.) A lot of people put alternators on for a few more amps.

The generators are barrel looking, kinda like a coffee can and the Alternators have a lip or flange all the way around on the rear near the pulley.

What kinf of Antifreeze for a 2000 vw beetle?

Volkswagen antifreeze is made by Pentosin. Only use that kind. It is, unfortunately, really expensive--a 1.5-liter bottle is about $15. Compare that with Prestone you can get for around $11 a gallon. Fortunately for you, it lasts three years.

There are four kinds of VW antifreeze: green, which is for really old watercooled VWs; blue, which is specification G11 and is for cars from about 1989 to 1996; red (or pink), which is specification G12 and is for 1997-2002 cars; and purple, which is specification G12+ for 2003-on cars. Red/pink and purple antifreezes are mixable. Blue antifreeze can't be mixed with red/pink or purple antifreezes.

Which car is better a VW beetle or a mini cooper?

In almost every way: the Mini Cooper.

Mini's have a worldwide community an following, that will help you every-which-way imaginable.

The beetle, was and still is, a mis-conceived concept vehicle that made it to producton. It was said that it was VWs match for the Mini. It's definitely not.

The MINIs crash test result double those of the Beetle. Thus being 2x safer.

When do you change transmission fluid in a 2005 VW Beetle?

Assuming you are talking about an automatic trani, You have to take the driver wheel off and the plastic surrounding the fender so you can see. The oil supposed to last forever because it is synthetic and the warranty only last for a few years, having said that, if you are out of warranty, what you could do is put your car up somehow on four stands, the car has to be level, drain the oil from the trani case, there is a plug in it, then you must and I repeat, you must not spill any of the oil outside the container you are using to collect the used oil. After the oil has drained, it is recommended you take the trani oil off so you can replaced the trani oil filter and to check for metal shavings. Then assuming you do all that, put the new filter and gasket back on and tight the screws to the touch + a 15% more. Then locate the oil spout right above the trani oil pan towards the front of the car, it is about 2 inches long and it is sealed, I meant it has some kind of plastic ring generally color red, you have to brake it, once you do that you also have to have a funnel and a hose small enough to fit that spout, you have to route the hose somehow in between the engine and the radiator. Now you must measure the oil taken out and and pour the exact amount in with out spilling any out because, believe me if it is less or a bit more, your trani will act up. The oil you can get only at the dealer for about 25 bucks a quart, also synthetic pour it in, put the cover back in and presto. It sound like a lot of work, but...... it is! I hope this helps, and by the way. I will not be responsible for any omissions as I am not a mechanic, not responsible for anything that may go wrong with your vehicle. This is what I've done to my daughters vehicle and it is working fine

Where is coil pack on 2.5 liter 2006 VW Beetle?

There are 5 individual coils mounted directly over the spark plugs. You have to remove the large plastic air cleaner housing from the top of the engine to gain access to them.

How do you change the spark plugs in a 1992 camaro RS?

In my 91 RS 305, I change the spark plugs working from underneath the car. The spark plugs are easier to see and get a 3/8 ratchet with long spark plug socket on from underneath.

How can you do that? is quite imposible to remove it, is no space to do work ?
