How do you replace a headlight bulb on a 2003 VW Jetta?
for the passenger side follow these steps - there are two metal retaining clips that you need move out ot the way. They do not come off but are moved with a little pressure towards the outside of the cover plate. They must go up over a little nibs of plastic so a screwdriver can be used to pry them up slightly if it makes it easer. - Genlty pull the cover plate off by wiggilling it back and forth as you pull it off. - notice how the bulb is in the hole as it can only go in one way - the plastic clip holding the wires to the bulb runs perpendicular to the outside passenger fender - reach into the hole and you will find a retaining ring turn it about an 1/8th of a turn counterclockwise then gently pull it off - now gently wiggle the bulb as you remove it - carefully pry up the clip holding the wires to the bulb and remove the wiring harnes - have now removed the buld - I strongly suggest before you reverse these steps and install the new bulb that you practice once or twice with the burned out bulb as there are 3 channel keys that need to align and it can be a little tricky/frustrating if the bulb does not go in easily the first time. When you are putting in the bulb it needs to be pressed in slightly to make sure the rubber ring on the bulb offers a snug fit to the light housing. This does have the advantage of holding the bulb in place while you put the retaining ring back in place. - For the drivers side the steps are the same but you are very cramped for space so removing the battery cover is needed.

All seriousness aside, the latch is in fact under the hood, but the lever to actuate the latch may be in one of several places. On an old "classic" VW Beetle, the lever is located in the glove box on the passenger side of the dash board.

I believe it's 240 Lbs. You should buy the Bently manual. There is a new tool that's perfect for the axle nut and the Gland nut for the Fly wheel. It mounts to your brake drum and it use's a reduction gear so you can actually use a torque wrench. I belive it reduces it down to about 25 or 30 lbs of torque. It's about $60.00 US. It's awesum. ok, it is very simple. all you have to do is take off the door panel, and if you have the tweeter in the corner of the door, you are going to have to take the screen off and undo the bolts, then there are 3 bolts that hold the mirror on..... i would recommend to take a digital camera with you so you can take pictures of everything and that way you will be able to put everything back in place..

Removing the Door PanelIt's easy!- Remove triangle-shaped plastic cover Fwd of door window - gently pry it off
- Remove screw from the plastic cover behind door open lever
- Remove door lock plunger. (unscrew)
- Remove screws down inside the door pull hand-hold area
- Look for other Phillips screws - sometimes around the lower 1/2
- Pry hidden plastic hold down fasteners from around the edge - pull the panel away from the door and where you see it 'stuck' to the door, slide a pry tool, a stiff putty knife works well, up in that area and pop the fastener off.
- Lift door liner enough to get to the mirror power connector and unplug.
- For some model years, with door panel loose, you can access the bolts / screws that hold the interior trim piece in place and remove.
- Remove Mylar cover for access to 3 Mirror mount studs, speaker screws, door lock actuators, window motors, etc.
- Remove nuts, (hold the mirror up from outside) and remove mirror. (Feed electrical harness through door openings as required to facilitate removal.
- Reverse order for installation.
To take of the inside panel just remove the screws under the panel, on the left side, and one (that is hard to get to) on the inside. I don't know how to get to the mirror tho. In general, the primary mounting screws for the side mirror are under the triangle cover piece - often that is held in place with a single screw itself.
I have found the electric connector to be fairly short, so it may be possible to replace the mirror without removing the door panel.
Remove the speaker cover by carefully prying it off. From the inside of the car, remove the three nuts that attach the mirror bolts. Remove mirror. Re-install the same way.

Hi It stumped me a little unscrew the knob behined the light in the Boot / Trunk and the use a small screwdriver on the OUTSIDE of the light on the right handside as you look at the light in the middle on the outside. You will feel a little spring clip and as you push gently the light will pullout forward.
