If you want to die a horrible flaming death in a car crash, use the air pressure on the tires on a rear-engine VW. Rear-engine and mid-engine cars are not like front-engine cars - for safe handling, you need either more air pressure or a wider tire on the back of the car than on the front. Corvairs were especially prone to having tire pressure make the car go out of control; there is more weight in the back of a Corvair than a Bug because the engine is heavier, and the dealers didn't tell people this had to be done. (More than likely, they didn't know.) Rear engine sports cars use wider tires on the back - Porsche 911s and Ferraris use 20mm-wider tires on the back, and Lamborghinis use 120mm wider tires on the back. This is why. It's not because wider tires on the back make the car look better. (I checked tirerack.com; they sell a "matched tire set" for Lamborghinis. They want $291 per tire for the fronts and $751 per tire for the rears...I guess they figure if you can afford the insurance on one of those cars, you can afford $2100 for tires.) Volkswagen used the same tire size on both ends, so we get our safety through differential tire pressure.

The easiest way to remember it is, the fronts need 10psi less than the rears. I like running 18psi in front and 28 in back. Put 28 in the spare and paint the wheel red so you remember to get it off of there when you get the other tire fixed.

If you want to go the other way - running wider tires in back with the same air pressure at both ends - you can buy wider fenders. The wheel that comes on a Bug is 15" x 5.5" with a 4x130mm bolt pattern; as long as the bolt pattern matches you can buy wider wheels to fit. Try a 15" x 6.5" wheel; that should give you a good safe ride for not an outrageous price.

This is fairly easy... however: DISCONNECT NEGATIVE TERMINAL FIRST!!

Looking at your question im assuming that you have ALL the lugnuts off if you do i would say you wheel is rusted and stuck to your hub Jack the car up and remove the lugnuts and turn with your back to the wheel and kick the bottom of the tier this should bust the rust loose and tier should come off IF the lugnut are not off and you have lock nuts with no tool to remove you may need to have a regular lugnut welded to the end of the locknut so you can remove it with a impact then replace it with a normal one.

Power steering fluid is needed to keep the power steering operating correctly. However in an emergency you can still steer the vehicle without power steering fluid, it is just really hard to turn the wheel without the power assist.

I just asked this question, but someone helped me out, so here's the answer (I think): Turn your engine OFF, and then press the "hour" and "minute" buttons at the same time. [FYI, if you do this with the engine ON, the temperature reading switches between Fahrenheit and Celsius.]

Unhook the battery

Disconnect the headlight and turn signal on that side; if you're removing a left-hand fender, unhook the horn too

Remove the front bumper and right bracket

Remove the billion bolts that are holding it on

Pull hard because someone probably painted over the fender welting, and as a result the fender is now glued to the car

Unfortunately, if your locking mechanism has failed there is no way to open your trunk alone. You will need to go to a mechanic so they can replace the lock.

if you look on the dash you will see a hump running down the middle, if you push down and forward on that hump right underneath the windshield it will come off and reveal some screws .i cant remember if it is on the drivers side or the passengers side but taking the screws and panels off will reveal it. it will be under one of the dash panels, i cant remember witch side

What if your float is not floating? Food for thought...

If your float has gone bad then it wil not give enough force to close the Float Valve. Get a new float. If this does not fix it then the float valve you got is defective.

are you talking about the little arm that comes out of the door and attaches to the door frame? because that's really simple. there should be a little pin that connects the that arm to the frame of the door, you pull that out and it should come right off.

The firing order is: 1-4-3-2 the cylinders are arranged (top is the front of car) 3--1 4--2

i have the same code i search on the internet and i found that is the MAF sensor (mass air flow sensor) clean it or replace it it cost about 100

There is nothing to worry about with water in the exhaust.

However water in your oil could suggest leaky gaskets. Depends where in the oil system or engine it is.
