How many psychologists have won a Nobel prize?

It depends on how one defines "psychologist." In any case, the answer is "very few," as there is no prize awarded in the field of psychology.

If "psychologist" means a professor of psychology with a degree in psychology, then only one: Daniel Kahneman. His collaborator and co-recipient, Amos Tversky, was not alive to accept the prize, which was awarded in the field of economics.*

Roger Sperry was a psychologist, but held his professorship in psychobiology. That would make two-his being awarded in the field of medicine.

If the definition would include someone with a degree in political science who later became a professor of psychology, then three, counting Herbert Simon, who won his prize in the field of economics.*

Ivan Pavlov, the physiologist whose influential work on classical conditioning has earned him a rank among the top 20th century "psychologists" (as rated by professional psychologists, citations, and references in Introductory Psychology textbooks), also won the prize in the field of physiology. If counted, that would make four.

*: The answer also depends on how one defines "Nobel prize;" most, but not all, consider the prize in economics a true Nobel. A separate though related organization developed and began awarding the prize 68 years after the first prizes were put in place. Per Wikipedia: "The Prize in Economics is not one of the original Nobel Prizes created by Alfred Nobel's will. … Some critics argue that the prestige of the Prize in Economics derives in part from its association with the Nobel Prizes, an association that has often been a source of controversy."

Even a recipient of the award, Friedrich Hayek, argued against considering the honor as equivalent to the other Nobels: "The Nobel Prize confers on an individual an authority which in economics no man ought to possess. … This does not matter in the natural sciences. Here the influence exercised by an individual is chiefly an influence on his fellow experts; and they will soon cut him down to size if he exceeds his competence. But the influence of the economist that mainly matters is an influence over laymen: politicians, journalists, civil servants and the public generally."

How can you control your 17-year-old daughter if she comes and goes as she pleases and talks back calling you stupid and she dropped out of school and is seeing a boy against whom she pressed charges?

Your daughter is spoiled and was out of control long before she hit 17. Mid-teens are the worst because they are part child/part adult and are flexing their independence. There really isn't anything you can do. Just do a lot of praying and hope she comes to her senses. It's hard, but she has to either learn the hard way or wise up and realize she is making a mistake. The harder you push her the harder she'll push back and become defiant. She is almost of age so save yourself the energy. You can tell her you don't like it and try to give advice, but teens at this age often feel adults DON'T UNDERSTAND! Yeah, like we've had our head under a rock all these years! Your daughter has to learn to make her own decisions and whether she is right or wrong she needs to know that she also has to pay the consequences for mistakes she makes. When she makes mistakes DON'T bail her out. Don't say one word, but whatever you do, let her crawl out of her own messes no matter how hard it is for you. There is hope because young women grow up sooner or later and eventually you will have a decent relationship with your daughter when she's a little older and has matured more. Good luck

How should Creationists respond to a growing hatred for Christians-Creationists on YouTube and yahoo and all that goes on in these places?

We can not do much about what is being said on other sites. Hopefully, if offensive remarks are being made there, the supervisors of those sites will take the time to correct this. Perhaps the answer is to have a look around WikiAnswers. You will find that creationists are warmly accepted here, and we try to give fair and objective answers to questions. Some Contributors will disagree with the creationist view, as is their right, but they will try to do so in an informative way without giving offence.

How does a Volkswagen Jetta know that its door is open?

there is a little switch (button) on the inside of the door frame that tells the car when the door is open the easiest way to find it is to open your door and make sure that the domew light is on then start starting at the the top work your way down past the door hinge and look for any small round buttons if you push it and the dome light goes off you have found the right one. good luck I had the same problem with my 2001 VW Jetta 4 door, the switch that tells the car that the door is open is located inside the door latch. I found this out when I had to replace the door latch. I hope this helps you out.

Is e e equals mc2 a theory?

no its not a theory, because E stands for energy in the object, m is mass, and c is speed of light which is 186,000 miles per second. Its finding how much energy is in an object, and it was created for the atomic bomb. So if it was solved then i don't think it is theory because it was proven to be a real equation.

Improved answer: It is more of a law than a theory. It describes the phenomenon of energy and mass being equal and it cannot be refuted, but it doesn't explain why. However, the equation was not created for the atomic bomb. This equation was written long before the atom was weaponized. There is nothing to solve because it is a framework as it is seen now (E=mc2)

When was e equals mc2 created?

That was created by Albert Einstein in 1905

Albert Einstein sons?

They were Hans Albert (who was born in 1904) and Eduard (born in 1910). They were both the sons of Albert Einstein and Mileva Maric.

What is the contribution of Einstein in Math?

Although he made enormously important contributions to physics, his contribution to mathematics was limited.

The non-existence of a fixed frame of reference is probably the most significant mathematical contribution - as opposed to contribution to physics.

What were Albert Einsteins 3 contributions to algebra?

· The Famous E=mc2 is the most profound mathematics in the history of the world. It tells us that no matter can travel the speed of light because of the mass that would be needed to generate the speed would slow it down with drag.

· The Einstein Field Equations (EFE) is a tensor equation relating a set of symmetric 4 x 4 tensors. Each tensor has 10 independent components. Given the freedom of choice of the four space time coordinates, the independent equations reduce to 6 in number.

· The Vacuum Field Equations ,If the energy-momentum tensor Tμν is zero in the region under consideration, then the field equations are also referred to as the vacuum field equations. By setting Tμν = 0 in the full field equations, the vacuum equations can be written as

The solutions to the vacuum field equations are called vacuum solutions. Flat Minkowski space is the simplest example of a vacuum solution. Nontrivial examples include the Schwarzschild solution and the Kerr solution.

Manifolds with a vanishing Ricci tensor, Rμν = 0, are referred to as Ricci-flat manifolds and manifolds with a Ricci tensor proportional to the metric as Einstein manifolds.

Why were the ideas of albert Einstein and Sigmund Freud revolutionary?

Einstein's theories of the universe worked well with Freud idea of inter universe in a person fit well with each other. There theories and philosophy was so crazy people saw it a revolutionary
