How do you wire an alternator?
Usually, these things are made so you can't mess it up by "keying" the connection. I'll assume the connection is broken since your asking. the positive (+) output (usually red) is plugged to the Positive side of the automotive circuit and the Negative (-) output (usually black) is connected to chassis ground or the negative side of the automotive circuit.
If its not clear what side is positive and negative, you should take it to a professional that will do a good job and has more knowledge.

Remove motor cover 1995 astro van?
I'm assuming you do not have the owner's manual, because it explains how to do this on page 6-13, so I'll tell you what it says. 1-Move both front seats back as far as they can go. 2-Remove the instrument panel extension ( the thing with the two cup holders and the ashtray ) by removing the two screws on each side at the top of the extension, and the two nuts on the bottom. 3-Grasp the bottom of the extension, lift up, and pull out. 4-Diconnect the connector for the cigarette lighter. Set extension aside. 5-Grasp the top of the heater duct and pull down gently to remove. 6-Remove bolt from engine cover bracket, ( this is about a five inch metal piece at the top right ) loosen the nut on the other side of bracket, and move it out of the way. 7-Lift up on each of the two latches at the bottom of the cover 8-Remove the two screws at the engine cover using a long handled screwdriver. These two screws are on the sides of the cover, about 1/4 of the way from the top. The screws do not come out of the cover, only from the dash. 9-Grasp the bottom of the cover and slide it backwards. Then, lift it up and out of the vehicle. GOOD LUCK

What do you check if the blinkers don't work?
The first thing to check is the bulbs,if one is burned out the blinker won't light up on the dash(most cars). If it lights up but does not blink it is usually a flasher unit. The flasher unit is located on the fuse panel of most cars under the dash. The flasher is round about the size of a half-dollar coin.It just pulls out from the panel.Hope it helps...JD
How do you fix ZZ502 oil pressure failure?
Low pressure is caused by dual oil filter adapter (as you use in your slow boat). Use a cheap oil filter instead of an expensive "racing" filter. Also, install a shot gun shell anywhere there's room to install it. Good luck.

How do you replace trunk struts?
I just replaced the trunk struts on my 96 Jeep Grand Cherokee. I have no mechanical experience and i replaced them myself, so its a pretty easy fix. On the top of your trunk there will be a piece held in my two bolts. Just remove these bolts and the piece should come right off. on the side of your trunk should be the other piece. There will be a little spring attached to your ball joint that is easily removed with a flat head screw driver. Once this spring is removed you should be able to pull the par away from the ball joint and wallah. Replace just like you took off.
How do you replace the alternator on a Skoda felicia 1998 and where do the wires go?
The alternator on my wife's Skoda Fellatio has just failed as well so I'm shopping round to order a new one.
Having had just a cursory look under the bonnet it all looks pretty straight-forward. There's a thin wire going to a plug that is, at a guess, the charging indicator. There's a thick wire that comes off of a stud and which goes directly to the positive side of the battery. This is presumably the main feed from the alternator. No other wires. Nice and simple.
Oh, and just three nuts/bolts holding the alternator in position. Should be a half-hour job to change one.
Cheers Gary
If its a diesel with power steering you are in for a shock, you need to take out the radiator to give clearance, take off the belt tensioner pulley wheel to withdraw one of the two bolts, (not three). The pulley bolt is left hand thread and is lifted clear to slacken the belt for removal by getting a spanner on it and lifting. Not as easy as it sounds, it has a strong spring and is a bit fiddly, once the belt is off you can then turn the bolt the other way to remove it and the pulley wheel. removing the left hand headlight helps a lot as you can work through the hole that is left. best to find a scrap yard that still lets you take bits off and do it there first on someone else's car. Its not as bad as it sounds but is not the twenty minute job I thought it would be. Good luck, Steve
If its a petrol with power steering and an MPI engine then you are in for an even bigger shock as I have only just discovered. Removing this type of alternator requires a special tool. Without the special tool IT CANNOT BE REMOVED.
The procedure is to undo the nut which holds the belt retentioning roller to the engine mounting. Sure, both upper and lower bolts can be removed however, without releasing the tension from the belt the alternator can neither be moved nor removed.
The problem exists due to the positioning of the alternator and the belt retentioning roller - there is only 1/2-inch clearance between the bolt-end of the roller and the wheel-arch.
The tool is not available for public use. I have spoken to Skoda who have confirmed this. Even if you could buy the tool it would cost somewhere between £40 - £70 (confirmed by Ashley Down Motors, Bristol, UK).
If you could get the car over to a garage who has the tool then you might be able to persuade them to undo the belt retentioning roller nut so that you can fit the alternator yourself on the roadside - although, they might not be happy about this so phone them first. It may also mean offering a token payment of say £10 or so.
