How do you change oil on Chevy Equinox?
the filter is located right underneath the front of the vehicle and the drain plug is directly behind it on the back side of the oil pan. remove the drain plug first and then the filter.
On the 2011 Equinox 4 Cylinder, you can get at the filter from the top/front of the engine. If you look behind and to the left of the il dipstick, you will see a black plastic round piece with a 1 1/4" plastic"nut" on the top. The base is round and approx 3" in diameter. Use a 1 1/4" socket to remove this piece. When yu fully loosen the piece, pull it out and the filter will be attached. This is not the conventional spin on tye filter most are used to. It is a paper/fibrous material. Filter number is CH9018 from Fram.
The actual size of the plastic "nut" is 32 millimeters.

How difficult is it to replace the blend door on a 2007 Chevy Equinox?

How to retrieve trouble codes from an 1991 Chevy Caprice?
Locate the diagnostic connector: it's just under the dashboard, offset a little to the driver's side. Take a paper clip, straighten it out, then bend it into approximately a 1/2 " U shape. Alternately, if you want to do it like the pros, purchase a OBD-1 diagnostic reader. You could also just go to Auto Zone, as they will read it for you for free.
Place the "jumper" paper clip into the two diagnostic pin placements (A and B). Turn your key on, but do not start the car. Watch the check engine light: it will flash, if working correctly, a "12" code, which is the start of the ECU's trouble code memory. It will flash once, then twice, denoting a "12" code. This lets you know that the codes, if any, are about to run.
You'll need a list of codes for your car to know what it is telling you. The trouble codes will display twice. A 44, for example, will flash 4 times twice, then again 4 times twice. This gives you time to collect them, if there is more than one.

How do you replace HHR front signal light bulb?
Here is what the owner's manual says for our 2008 Chevy HHR says about replacing headlamps. It is a copy-and-paste job from a pdf file.
To replace the headlamp, turn signal, or parking
lamp bulb:
1. Turn the wheel to access the wheel well.
2. Remove the fasteners to access the headlamp and
the turn signal/parking lamp bulbs.
3. Reach in behind the wheel well liner and locate the
bulb to be changed.
4. Turn the bulb socket counterclockwise to remove.
5. Pull the old bulb out of the socket.
6. Install a new bulb.
7. Reverse Steps 1 through 4 to reinstall.
The manual had a diagram that would not copy. It showed three locations where the fasteners are located on the edge of the wheel well in front of the wheel itself. I top fastener was a small hex-head screw. The bottom two were round capped plastic plugs. They did not come out by me pulling on them and prying with a screw driver. I didn't want to mess anything up, so I went online for help.
Does anyone have a flow chart for Gm code 43?
"Does anyone have a flow chart for Gm code 43?" You weren't specific of year! So here are both. 1982 - 1992 Code 43: Electronic Spark Control "Poor electrical connection, open or short in circuit; defective ESC module; defective knock sensor; defective ECM". 2003 - 2005 OBD I Code 43: Knock Sensor(KS)Circuit "Check ECM/PCM for an open or short to ground; if necessary, reroute the harness away from other wires such as spark plugs, etc. Replace the knock sensor if bad". Basically different! But the same!! Right? ESC & KS talk to each other.
What if your spare tire wont come off your 2003 GM truck cable comes down but tire remains elevated?
Pry on it. It's just stuck to the bottom of the truck.
How can you bypass the VAT device?
VATS - Vehicle Anti-Theft System GM introduced the VATS or Vehicle Anti-Theft System in 1986.
Basically the VATS security system must read one of 15 resistor values to allow the vehicle to start. Use an incorrect value, you'll lock out or put the vehicle into a no crank situation for up to 10 minutes. (although I really never sat and timed it) Therefore, your well advised to have an ohm meter. (if your as lucky as me, it seems to always be the last resistor in the pack that works) Use a meter, or it makes for a real long day !
I read somewhere, that when GM introduced the VATS system it significantly reduced the theft of GM vehicle equipped with such a system.
The VATS system disables the engine starter if the systems module detects an incorrect, or non existent resistor value at the time of ignition. Within the Key there is a small built in resistor pellet.
The system was enhanced to also include a fuel shut-off, sometime later.
As I mentioned before, there are 15 different resistor values. As long as you are within 5% +/- of the measured value, you'll be able to bypass the system.
The newer system is called PassKey II. (Passlock 2)
VATS and the PassKeyII systems basically operate the same, except they moved the resistor into the lock cylinder.
BYPASS for a Remote Starter
Most everyone who is visiting this site is looking for a bypass for use with a remote starter.
If you are in a lock out situation and you need to know how to bypass the VATS, PassKey I or PassKeyII systems, this is also your quick fix.
To bypass GM VATS system:
Drop the steering column cover to access the VATS wire harness coupler. Ordinarily, the wire will be 2 white wires or possibly white and purple. GM has used a variety, but they should be within in a colored jacket, equally as varied in color, and are 2 light gauge wires. There will be a connector.
With the Key inserted, Un-plug the connector, and measure the KEY side of the harness
Record the value.
Refer to the Chart. Look up your value on the chart. It should be one of the values on this chart, or very close. (Must be within 5% +/- )
Use Color

Alternatively, measure the resistance of the VATS Resistor Pellet by placing the resistance of the VATS Resistor Pellet by placing an Ohm meter set at 20k ohms on each side of the Pellet.
Average the 2 values, and select the value closest this average.
To disable the system, insert this resistor, into the CIRCUIT side of the connector.
Set volt meter at 20k setting touch both sides of key pellet take reading and compare to chart below
Acceptable ranges)
1 402 ohms (acceptable range 386-438)
2 523 ohms (acceptable range 502-564)

15 11800 ohms (acceptable range 11328-12292)
Quick Note: if you have the type of key that has the resistor pelet on the key you can check the resistance simply by measuring the resistance with a multimeter by connecting a lead to each side of the black pellet where the metal point is in the middle of the pellet.
How do you reset the fuel pump on a 2003 Chevrolet silverado 1500 hd crew cab?
There is no "reset" button for the fuel pump on GM products. That's a Ford thing.
How do you install turn signal switch in 95 Chevy 3500?
It is quite simple to install a new turn signal switch in your 1995 Chevrolet 3500. The turn signal switch simply plugs in and out.
What would cause a Popping noise when turning left?
On my 2wd '88 Toyota Pickup, I put a 4-in. lift kit with 31 inch tires. The large tires strained the bushings used to align the wheels until they popped off the 'bolt'. They just fit in like a horseshoe, and when they come out, the bolt will start backing out and your arm will fall off. I'd take it to get it aligned and they'll put them back in.
