You KNOW that, do you? Just how do you know that? Seems to me that landfills and incinerators HELP the environment. If it weren't for landfills and incinerators, where would we put all our trash? Just pile it up in the back yard? Dump it in the forest? Dump it in the ocean? Aren't we, in fact, REMOVING trash from the "environment" by putting it in landfills or burning it?

It is best to use fertilizer in spring and early summer as these are the growing periods. You can also put fertilizer down in late autumn for a faster green up in the spring. You don't want to put fertilizer down too early in autumn as it will cause the grass to go into a growth spurt and won't have time to harden off before winter.

Why do humans insist on using the base 10?

Humans insist on using base 10 because we have 10 fingers. Historically other number base systems have been used, but probably the most commonly used and convenient for ten fingered beings, base 10, stuck and is the international standard of today. Computers use binary because they only have 2 'fingers' or electrical states to count with - '1', switched on, and '0' switched off.

Working of a solar cooker?

A Solar Cooker is a device that uses sunlight as an energy source to cook food. They can be of any shape but the most famous is the box shaped cooker. The most effective material for a solar cooker is metal painted black to absorb light. It's top plane is made out of glass to trap heat (Similar to the green house effect). A vessel (painted black) is placed in this heater containing the food. A solar heater has a mirror that helps concentrate sunlight to a particular point/space.

A time taken for a solar heater to prepare food varies greatly according to the quantity and type of food, equipment being used, sunlight available and air temperature.

How electric geyser works?

A electric Geyser has a Element screwed in the side of the inner water container,

with the heated side submerged in water, parallel to the element (sometimes center)

is a thermostat unit to control the temperature by switching the element off once the desired temperature has been reached. The element itself is made with nichrome wire,

which is a resistive wire, When a Electric current is passed through the nichrome wire

the resistance of the wire restricts the current causing a pressure of electrons and protons (as water builds pressure in a hose pipe when the end is restricted) and intern

creates heat as a byproduct.

How do Italians deal with marble slurry?

The natural stone processing slurry waste disposal is a major environment hazard for everybody and not only for Italians. Marble is a rich source of Calcium Carbonate which has more than 1,000 uses. The world over ground calcium carbonate requirements besides, exploiting lime stone deposits is also met by pulverizing marble blocks. However, the process slurry does not find gainful utilization any where and is normally discarded many times in blatant violation of environment protection laws. The problem lies with the gravity sedimentation water circulation methods traditionally adopted by the natural stone processing industry. The gravity sedimentation accumulates stone process dust in the system either in the vertical decanter towers or open pits for a long time. The accumulation of slurry mixes up various colors as well as rich and poor CaCO3 content mineral from the stone processed in various production cycles. The solution to this problem lies in making it possible to discard stone process dust as it is generated without letting it accumulate. This solution is now available in the form of "Water & Waste Harness System for Natural Stone Processing" a patented technology.

What is the cost of a french drain system?

The cost of a french drain can vary widely depending upon the soil conditions, how rocky, how much clay, etc. The length of the drain, the depth and the width of the trench are also factors. A contractor is going to be paid for his time, his equipment and his know-how so these factors must also be considered. A good starting point for a typical drain that is 12-18 inches deep and 8-12 inches wide is $25/$30 per linear foot...example a drain that is 50 feet long and within the said perameters would start at a base price of 50 feet X $25.00 per foot = $1250.00. This is not considering variables....depending on the cicumstances, size, soil conditions, as mentioned earlier....I have charged as much as $100/ linear foot....which once again depends on the job.....I know of some french drains that were more expensive than $100/ln. ft.....remember when you ask a contractor to do the work you have to pay for everything he does related to the job....you should ask multiple contractors so you can compare bids....and check their insurance and license information....a good contractor is happy to show you both....good luck

How do you fix tappet noise in a vl commodore?

Answer noisy tappets VLdepends on the model some can be done at home with a torqe rench but others can be a bigger pain. Try doing a oil change i recomend the CASTROL GTX3 15w/40 engine oil 5lt under $30 along with the ryco oil filter (for a 1986 VL part number z145a $5) and a bottle of oil flush under $20 as the noise can also be from lack of service or the oil being to thick.

drain the oil

Follow oil flush directions

change filter

PUT SUMP PLUG IN

fill with oil

do this after 5,000ks do it again then after another 5,000 do it again then your tappets should be clean and lubricated enough to adjust them self.

for more friendly advice go to your local Holden dealership with a workshop they will give you all the info to do it yourself.

How dangerous is the Red Tide?

Red tide is not generally dangerous but can cause certain respitory irritation in some people such as surfers and ocean swimmers who breathe the air close to the surface of the water. If you're just swimming in it, it can make you mighty uncomfortable but it usually won't cause you grave harm. Eating shellfish harvested during a Harmful Algal Bloom infestation is a different story--people have died from doing that.
