First off, it does not contain Freon. Freon is R12 and your Hummer contains R134a which is not Freon. This is not a DIY job. If it is low of refrigerant then it has a leak, and it is illegal to add refrigerant without repairing the leak. I suggest you take the vehicle to a professional that has the expertise and special tools to accomplish this repair.

There is a preset sequence for activation of pump. I believe it to be 45 seconds after ignition is turned off and again around 1 hour. These are set to purge the system and then recharge it. Why it does this I'm not sure but this is what was explained to me by dealer. Hope this helps.

yes air compressors are charged with oil (to help lubricate). You can add coolant with some oil included (see convert old freon to new type kits/ they have oil added) if you have leaked some out, but obviously this is a temporary fix...better to evacuate whole system, fix compressor leak, then fill with properly measured oil + coolant.

the air guage machine has a spindle type guage as we have go guages for plu go and no go guage, that spindle is being inserted into the hole required to measure its ID and ovality.

that spindle has passage to pass air through it alaonge its axis and at the end that passage divides into two opening alonge its diameter

when air is passed thorugh the spindle( gauge) it passes though the spindle and get out throgh these two openings

now if the spindle ( guage ) is inserted into the hole, it quases a drop in the pressure which is sensed by the pressure gauge mounted on the air guage machine, and that is converted into the dial guage in microns and v get redings in microns :)

There are several systems of converting the back pressure in to a display measure, like diaphragms, transducers etc which have their own errors, calibration etc and all these together make the measurement system and we see complicated result.

They are based on the air pressure within the tank. They come on then the pressure drops to a pre-set point and shut off the pressure raises to a pre-set point.

You could be low on freon, also check your fuses to see if any are blown, or you culd have a bad a/c switch.

It sounds like your compressor was killed. What more than likely happend is that your airbag got a hole or crack in it causing the compressor to work overtime. I would recommend a conversion kit. Compressor lubricant is mixed in with the freon and will enter the system when it is recharged

Due to the pressure rise developed through the impeller, a pressure difference exists across the hubs and covers such that the impellers have a net thrust in the direction of the compressor inlet. The balance piston counteracts that by being located behind the last impeller. This is accomplished by subjecting the outboard side of the balance piston to a low pressure from the inlet side of the compressor thereby creating a pressure differential opposite to the direction of the impellers. This pressure is acheived by connecting the area behind the piston to the inlet using a line. The impeller thrust not balanced by the balace piston is absorbed by the thrust bearings.

This could actually help your 10 seer condensor run a little more efficiently but make sure you find out if your old air handlers evaporator coil used a cap tube or a expansion valve to meter freon,because if u are going from a cap tube to a expansion valve evaporator coil u will need to add a hard to start kit and time delay for the compressor,or u will wind up hurting your compressor. any service company should be able help u with this. Take this to a professional. You have neither the tools nor the expertise to repair. If you tried to add freon to the high side, you've already cheated death once. That side has more pressure than the refill can and it may flow from the system into the can and cause it to explode.

It does not have an Air Compressor. If you are talking about the A/C Compressor, then just look at the drive belts. One of these belts is driving the compressor. If it has one serpentine belt, it is driving the A/C compressor, PS pump, Alternator, & Water Pump. Just follow the belt to find it.

The a/c compressor may be on it's way out. Don't wait to replace it. As it is wearing out, it sends trash into the a/c system making it difficult and costly to clean out the system. Some parts can't be cleaned and have to be replaced. If it is not cleaned out completely the remaining trash will damage the new compressor in a short time.

If this is a single-phase motor, it may or may not be reversable. If it is, there should be a wiring diagram on the motors nameplate. If it just has two wires for power and no other changeable connections, it is probably not reversable. You can also look up the model number on the manufacturers website, you may find info there.

There is no Air Compressor on your Sable unless it has air ride. If you are referring to the Air Conditioner Compressor, then know that releasing refrigerant into the atmosphere is illegal. Replacing the compressor is a job for a professional with the proper tools to perform this repair.
