How do you fix a sagging vehicle headliner?
The headliner usually sags because the foam layer between the fabric and the hard shell has deteriorated and allowed the fabric to separate and droop. Unfortunately, the fabric cannot be re-glued to the shell, because the crumbly foam just will not hold the weight of the fabric. You need to remove the shell, scrape off all the old foam, and glue a new piece of headliner fabric onto the whole shell. Headliner fabric can be found in many fabric stores, it is fabric and foam glued together. If you are going to attempt this repair at home, make sure the glue you choose will stand up to the high temperature generated by sitting out in the summer sun.

How do you remove broken bolts?
If you can get at them with a drill buy an easyout which is like a drill bit but the threads are backwards. The size of the bolts will determine the size of the easyout and the size of the drill bit to use. Drill a hole down through the middle of the bolt and then insert the easyout and turn counter clockwise. The bolt should come loose. Soak the bolt first with liquid wrench or some other penetrating fluid to loosen up, the longer the better. If you have room to put a pair of vise grips on the bolt then this method would be easier. The secret is to soak with the liquid wrench for as long as possible.
I have used the PB Penetrating Catalyst to unfasten one of the rusted and broken bolt on my old brake caliper. Can the center window be replaced with a rear sliding window on a Ford F-250?
I just shattered the rear sliding window of my Ford F250 and was told by Dave of Quality Glass in LaPorte IN that the current generation of rear sliding windows are designed so the glass cannot be removed to be replaced, so the answer given me was, I need to purchase a new sliding window assembly. I checked into replacing the sliding window with just straight glass and it actually cost me more than aftermarket sliding windows. This is not the definitive answer, but the working answer in my situation.

How do you remove a shift knob on a 1998 Chevy S-10 2.2?
you cant its part of the whole shaft
IM UPDATING :)
you can actually take the shift knob off. i would say it is easier to take the shifter arm off first by moving the boot down and there is a nut holding it there just loosen it by turning clockwise i think, if not just turn it the other way. with the shifter arm off you would have to actually cut the knob down to the shifter arm itself. there is not really an easier way sad to say. I am about to do this sometime soon with my shift knob.

How do you explain flat rate to auto body technician employees?
Flat rate is being paid for what you do not how long you are at work. Technician's that work hourly may receive $ 10.00 per hour. If he or she works 8 hours they receive $80.00 for the day. A flat rate employee is paid off the hours on the estimate. If the tech get an estimate with 20 hours he is paid 20 hours for the job whether it takes 10 hours or 30 hours.
The tech working flat rate has an incentive to work faster because he can do the 20 hour job in 10 hours and be paid 20 hours because he was fast and efficient with his time. The 10 dollars an hour then becomes 20 dollars an hour.
The business owner does better with a flat rate tech. Every time the tech does the work in half the time they make double. A $62 per hour shop rate becomes $ 124 per hour. If the tech Makes $15.00 per hour on flat rate a 20 hour job pays $300.00. If the tech did the work in 10 hours his pay was 30.00 per hour.
The shop charged $1240.00 paid the employee $300 with a difference of $940 for ten hours of work. After paying the employee the shop then made $94 dollars per hour on the job.
The hourly person has no incentive to work more efficiently because he always makes the same wage. If he spends 10 hours on the a 5 hour job it the same pay as if he spends 2.5 hour on the 5 hour job.
The shop has to be busy for a person to work flat rate because if there is no work in the shop there is no pay. The hourly worker gets a check even if the shop has no work. They can sweep or clean and get paid. Flat rate workers have to wait for another car.
