How do you replace the radio in a 1992 Buick Roadmaster wagon?

To remove the panel across the dash that covers the radio, the air deflectors must also be turned to one side and gently pushed down on with a flat tip at the top and pulled out. Get the flat tip right next to the pin to depress the tab. There are four additional screws behind them and failing to remove them will break the deflector holders loose from the panel and create a nice rattle! Voice of experience speaking.

First pry off the wood trim panels that run the length of the dash (there are two pieces, one each side of the steering column). After you have exposed the dash below the wood paneling, you'll see 4 or 5 hex-head screws holding the entire dash paneling that surrounds the cluster, steering column, air bag, and each vent (it's one whole piece). Before attempting to remove, lower your steering wheel as fair as possible in order to slide the panel over the cuff around the steering column, as well as the gear shift (put it all the way down into 1st), which requires you have your key handy to put the ignition into ACC. This will give you more room to get the panel off. Once this is done, there are 3 more hex-head screws holding the radio in place. Remove. Remember to get the proper mounting bracket for your new stereo. *** Also, be mindful of the depth of the new radio. You'll see a metal brace of some sort that cannot be moved at the rear of the radio compartment. In order to add any new lines, it's best to drill out some of the fiberglass on the bottom of the compartment to run a remote line and/or RCA cables.

What is the probable cause of p0441 trouble code in an OBD2 system?

evap emmision system. purge solenoid not operating, or vacuum line broken between engine and charcoal cannister, near gas tank, underside of vehicle. solenoid may also be unplugge damaged, or engine computer could be defective.

On my 02 Intrepid it was the EVAP bleeder filter mounted just behind the fuel tank. I found this solution by checking the vacuum switch mounted on the carbon cannister. An answer I found on the justanswer website. Post copied included below.

Hello inspector 13, The set condition for this trouble code po441 has nothing to do with the oxygen sensor changing voltage when the purge valve opens up.

The Pcm gradually increases purge flow. During flow the PCM looks for the NVLD (natural vacuum leak detection) switch to close. If the PCM does not see the switch close at maxium flow an error is detected.

First pull up the lower cushion for the back seat, there is a wiring connector on the right side. We always check this first because we had a couple vehicle with corroded connections.

The problem we at Chrysler, are finding is the internal switch at the NVLD is not working properly and closing as it should.

This unit is located on the right side of the gas tank, and is part of the charcoal canister.

REMOVAL
  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2. Remove fuel tank, refer to the Fuel Delivery section for Fuel Tank Removal.
  3. Disconnect the electrical connector from the NVLD assembly.
  4. Disconnect the hoses from the NVLD assembly
  5. Lift tab on NVLD assembly and twist the assembly counterclockwise and pull up to remove from EVAP canister
  6. Remove O-ring from EVAP canister .

Why my ac wont start on Sunfire?

sunfire AC answer!assuming that your AC actually works, there is a small button on your console marked A/C, if you press it, there should be a little green light that turns on right underneath the button itself, and the car should sound different (that's obviously the AC). if the light isn't turning on, check the control knob that changes the vents. usually having it all the way to the left will keep the AC from working properly. turn the knob so that it is selected on the icon with the arrow pointing towards the face. my sunfire takes a while to kick in...im guessing i need a new AC...but then again, its called windows, that's what they are there for. don't make the car work any harder than it has to. if that doesnt work, you just might need a new AC...in which case youre talking to the wrong guy. good luck buddy

What should be done after you line the timing marks up and how would you know if the number 1 piston is on its compression stroke or exhaust stroke PS Would there be looseness in the rockers?

IF this is a Chevy, which timing marks do you mean?

IF you are talking about the cam and crank timing chain marks, and you lined them up 'together' (as close as possible to each other) then you are 180 degrees out in timing.

If you mean the mark on the balancer and its timing indicator then you cannot know without watching the valves operate. To do this:

  • Expose the valve rockers for #1 piston,
  • Identify the INTAKE valve (it should be the 2nd rocker arm on a V8)
  • turn the motor by hand with the key OFF until the intake valve opens and then starts to close
  • Once it is closed line up the timing mark and ensure the distributor is pointed to #1
  • operation complete

NOTE: the rocker arms on a hydraulic lifter motor should not be 'loose' - if you can rock them from side to side or up and down then you are out of adjustment or the valve stem is worn (mushroomed). If you have solid-lifters, then you should not have needed to ask this question as they require an expertise well beyond simple timing issues.

What is the quad driver module?

When hooking up a scan-tool to my girlfriend's daughter's 93 SC2 DOHC, I get a Quad Driver Module 1 Fault. I can clear the code, but it will return next time the engine is started. Most technical literature I have been able to get my hands on identifies a quad driver (there are apparently 2 or 4 of them) as a component internal to the PCM which is used to energize various relays and solenoids in the system The QDM is internal Pcm and contorls various components from check engine light to cooling fan to EGR soenoid and pugre solenoid. If it comes on as soon as you start the car most likely the EVAP purge solenoid is the fault. Rather than guess take it to the dealer spend 40$ and get them to do a QDM test this will tell you which component is failing and save the guess.

I have a 02 buick LeSabre custom when the key is turned to the run position all power and fuel to the engine is cut Had the starter tested works fine could it be the built in securety system-?

It sounds like your alarm system has a kill switch on it. You might want to check the wiring system. Not all colors on an alarm system wires are universal. If it came with instructions, check the wiring colors to make sure they match up.

If you have a manual transmission, then simply the car's engine dies because you release the clutch too quicly. If your car is automatic than you might have engine or transmission problems.

1996 gm 3.8 crank sensor location?

Crankshaft sensor for the 96 olds 3.8 v/6 is behind the harmonic balancer mounted on a bracket. It is adjustable and must be set properly to avoid damage to the replacement. There is a clearance issue between the sensor and the blades attached to the back side of the harmonic balancer.
