I just did it at the junk yard. It's just clips. 4 metal ones up top (1 under each headlight, one either side of grill) and then 10 or 12 plastic tab/hook things. Gently push/pull forward.

How do you remove 1987 caprice classic headlights for bumper filler replacement?

Best way is to remove the header panel / headlight assembly as the bumper is little more work and the hidden bolt holding in the shocks ( i still cant figure where that is).

First there are 2 -13 mm bolts on the very top left and right corners by the fenders / brackets ( where the fender brackets to the radiator core support) holding it back towards the car. Then behind the very center of the grill to the radiator / condenser area there is a bracket going up and down there are two bolts 13mm that needs be taken off as you can keep the bracket attacked to the header panel. I believe also inside the radiator core support on head side where it meets the fenders there are two studs that you need to take the nuts off.

Then wiggle it to see if there are any other bolts left. Make sure to disconnect the head and marker lights. Then once the header panel is off you can replace the filler panel.

Why do bumpers have spring-load shock abosorbers?

Bumbers have shock absorbers on them to absorb the shock of a minor impact (5mph) without causing significant damage to the car or the object hit. So, if you backed into a concrete wall while parking, the bumper would move with the shock absorbers - you might get a scuff on the paint; but if there was no shock absorber, the bumper or the mounting brackets would get bent (or the wall would break).

How do you remove the valve covers on a 1998 Pontiac Grand Prix GTP when the front motor mount appears to be in the way?

There's only one thing you need to do; remove the motor mount :) Remove the S/C belt, tensioner and idler also remove the front lift bracket, the passenger side dog bone, the passenger side engine mount bracket(it has the coils on it), unplug the spark plug wires, remove the spark plug wires from the spark plug wire cover, the spark plug wire cover, remove the 6 valve cover bolts and pull the valve cover. Install a new O ring and reinstalled the cover. Torque to about 89 in lbs. The back side is a bit tougher. Unbolt the 2 front dog bones and tilt the engine forward. You may have to loosen the the alternator, disconnect the neg. battery terminal, unplug the rear bank spark plug wires or disconnect them from the coils and move them out of the way, remove the rear lift bracket, remove the rear engine cover bracket, there is a sensor on the drivers side of the engine that needs to come off, 2 10 MM bolts, and several vacuum lines need to be removed. Do the same steps on the O ring and bolts as above. Hope this helps. "G" more speicifically: To remove the engine mount of which you speak. *1. Take off SC belt. *2. Take off SC idler pulley with a 15mm wrench or socket. *3. Take off SC tensioner pulley with a 13mm deepwell socket. *4. Take off bolt that attaches bracket to head with 15mm deepwell socket. *5. Start to take the nut off from the long bolt underneath the coil packs with 13mm deepwell socket (or 15mm, can't remember for sure). Hope this helps. "G"

Will a mondeo mk2 zetec s rear bumper fit directly onto a mondeo mk2 ghia x?

yes mate it will no modifications will be needed at all. the zetec -s body kit fits directly onto mk1 and mk2 mondeo's

|The "Zetec S" bumper will fit the zetec engined models but will not fit the V6 as the exhaust exit for the V6 is on the right hand side.

So in a nutshell Zetec S (RSAP) rear bumper will fit the 2.0, 1.8 & 1.6 models (exhaust on left) and the ST24 (RSAP) bumper will fit the V6 (exhaust on right)

It also depends on model of car. Only the Saloon and Hatchback are interchangeable, the estate bumpers are completley different

Hope it helps :-)

What glue can be used for repairing a crack in a plastic bumper?

Glues are generally not recommended for repairing thermoplastic olefins like the TPO, TEO and polypropylenes car bumpers are made out of. Virtually no adhesive will permanently bond a bumper with any sort of durability. The most cost effective way to repair a thermoplastic bumper is to use something like the Urethane Supply Company's MicroWeld 80 airless plastic welder. They are inexpensive and work VERY well, bonding the two parts back together. The process is simple. 1) Clean the part with plastic cleaner 2) V-groove the crack with a dremel tool or something similar. 3) Sand the area BY HAND with 40 grit sand paper. 4) Fill the groove with FiberFlex Universsal welding rod 5) Sink a piece of reinforcing mesh into the back of the repair and add some more FiberFlex 6) Sand the Bumper smooth on the front up to 600 grit 7) Spray on some Adhesion Promoter (1050 Plastic Magic works GREAT!) 8) Spray a primer, then your color coats of paint. In the end you will save a lot of money and the repair will make your bumper as good as new!

What do you need to replace the rear bumper on 1988 Toyota Camry?

How do you use a 1983 ford bumper jack?

The bumper jack has 3 pieces. The base (square and black) sits on the ground and the jack sits in the base, it won't stand up by itself, it falls over. On the jack head is a grey hook. On the car in each corner (right beside the black bumper pad) is a small 1 inch cut out for the jack hook to hook into, you may have to look under the bumper to see these cut outs. slide the jack and the base under the bumper and lift the jack head into that notch, sometimes they slide up and sometimes you have to "jack" them up into position. The lug wrench handle is designed to fit into the jack and allow you to jack the car. On the jack head there is a lever that says 'down' flip the lever up and move the handle up and down to ratchet the car up, it takes a good ammount of force once the car gets up. Once you are done flip the lever down and ratchet the handle again to lower. When lowering you must push the handle down pretty hard to activate the ratchet function. It's primative but I found it very effective in lifting this heavy car.

Will over rider style Euro bumpers fit a 1974 VW Karmann Ghia?

Huh? In the USA ghia bumpers 1961 till until ~1971 had chrome "towel rack" style bumper and 72 till end had a single blade "canoe shaped" and much larger tail lights and turn signals. If you ignored the energy absorbing shock style mounts of the late car, the early bumper share the same airspace as the lenses. But since they use entirely different brackets, that is nearly impossible to do.And what I can tell the "Euro style ghia bumpers" are more like the 1960 US version, just a blade and bumper-ettes.In short, early and late are way different.
Answer

I'm pretty sure they will fit, call one of the parts suppliers, they will know. Good Luck

How do you remove 3000GT back bumper?

To remove back bumper you need to start removing the interior panels in trunk then tail lights to access the nuts that hold it in and also there are some plastic inserts under neath the car that must be removed also. A new one will come already painted the origonal color of your car if you give them the vin for your car and assuming it is the original color. It takes quite a while to get it off and on so set a day aside and have the new one there so you will remember where all the nuts go. Good luck
