Car Stalling Problems

I have a 2000 Mercedes ML320 that did the same thing.The problem was the crank positioning sensor once replaced it stopped shutting down

i had a problem like that, Dodge van1500, and they told me a lot of solutions, i did tuneup and the only thing that works, i replace the computer, used 90.00 and problem solved.

The Crank Angle Sensor on these cars is notorious for going bad They will start to drop the output signal intermittently when they get hot The computer will try to substitute a value for the missed signal and keep the car running Eventually the sensor will reach a temperature that causes it to fail producing any signal And the ignition system will fail causing loss of spark making the car die After the car dies the sensor starts to cool and in most cases the car will start back up Immediately. The distributors also go bad after time in these cars (about 100K) and are not serviceable If the symptom cannot be reproduced try replacing the crank sensor first as it is the cheapest part Always check basic tune up parts first and make sure they are in good condition

Fuel... either you ran out or the pump stoped working, it could also me that the alternater failed and the battery died.

Do you mean the GM (chev, etc) 3.1 V6?

It's a throttle body injection engine with no choke.

It is probably the Mass air flow sensor. Try cleaning it with non chlorinated brake cleaner. If problem persist replace it, it's about $130. Be sure to check your vacuum lines too.

you should check the steering wheel gasket first. if that's not it, then you should check the blinker fluid

Probably not. Unless it's as thick as molasses. My guess is that, since you haven't changed your oil for a long time, you haven't had a tune up either. It's most likely bad spark plugs or a plugged up fuel filter causing your problem. Check your air filter and pcv valve while you're at it.

check fuel pump relay, mass air flow sensor in the intake or egr valve stack open and oxygen sensor so there are checks that need to be done to find out the cause problem.

,A two cycle mix wont hurt anything.At the most it will lubricate the upper part of your engine.IF you added another gallon of gas its thin anyway.As long as you don't put diesel in the tank your ok.

There is a low oil pressure switch that shuts off the fuel supply if the oil pressure drops . If the switch malfunctions ,it will shut off the engine when it is warming up and the oil oressure drops.The switch is near the oil filter

It could be a fuel filter or with my 2001 Impala, it was my Catalytic Converter. Is their a check engine light on? Schucks should have a scanner you can use for free to asses the issue. Good luck.

It could be a coil depending on where the module was bought it could even be a defective module

I had a very similar problem with a 93 buick regal. Finally got it fixed and found there was a problem with a cam sensor and it was telling the computer there was an error and the comp would shut the car down. This was a terrible problem for me to get fixed. Hope this is helpful, I feel your pain.

had the same problem with a lincoln, was told the same things, change the fuel filter, and let me know, sounds stupid but it worked for me

This depends on alot of things my suv would idle fine in park while ac or heater was on but would stall in gear and would run fine in park or in gear if ac or heater was off the problem lied in the throttle body of my vehicle small particles had built up around the (butterfly) and was not slowing enough air to pass while at idle in park with ac or heater on I pulled the breather hose off opened the butterfly with my finger (caution these parts have sharp edges) and cleaned with gumout carburetor spray ( note engine was turned off) and u should replace your air filter while your at it ( assuming your vehicle is fuel injected)
