How do you reset the service light on 2005 gmc Yukon?

Try this (works for my 2006 Yukon with the readout display): 1) Turn ignition to ON (everything lit up) BUT do NOT start it. 2) Press the gas pedal to the floor 3 (three, not 2, the manual is incorrect) times DELIBERATELY, not rapidly, in 5 (five) seconds. 3) Turn the ignition OFF (to lock).

What does it mean when the check engine light and brake light are on in your 2004 Kia Sedona?

You need to have the engine and brake systems checked for codes. See related questions below.

What makes a car to shake with a engine light on?

It could be low oil pressure. Or it could be low on oil. Or it could be running hot. Or a fuel filter may be clogged up.

How do you reset a check engine light on a Ford Taurus 2002?

This is most often caused by part of the emissions equipment not working. Replacing PCV often fixes it.

Is there a procedure to retrieve engine fault codes from a 1994 Chevy S10 without a scan tool?

Assuming you have located the ALDL (Assembly Line Data Link) under the left side of the dash, with the engine off, connect the A and B terminals (or the #5 and #6 terminals in the case of an OBD-I vehicle with the 16 pin OBD-II style connector) with your trusty paper clip. WITHOUT STARTING THE ENGINE, turn the key to the 'run' position and watch the "check engine" light. All GM codes are 2 digit, and each code will repeat three times before moving on to the next stored code. The format is "first digit, short pause, second digit, long pause", and the fact that each code is repeated three times makes it easy to figure out. The first and last code you'll get is "12", which indicates that the computer is in diagnostic mode. If you only get code 12, there are no faults stored in the system.

What does check engine light code P0401 mean?

Exhaust gas recirculation insufficient flow detected

What do you do when check engine light comes on in a 1999 ford escort lx?

Understand that the check engine light is usually triggered by a malfunction that affects the emission system. It usually doesn't mean that your motor is going to go bang. Take it to your mechanic, or many parts stores will scan the system for free. Once you know what code(s) are present, you'll have a better idea how to deal with the problem(s).

Why does my engine rev the RPM gage up and down while in park?

Because the flywheel needs to spin in order to cool the coolant that's in the radiator. While the car is moving, the flywheel is moving anyway. However, while in park, the car is not moving, and therefore the flywheel is not moving either. Every so often the engine will rev, spin the flywheel, and keep the engine from overheating.

This may be the worst answer ever written. I can"t tell you what is wrong but I can promise it is not the flywheel. The flywheel is in the back of the engine, it connects the enginge drive to the transmission, it also has the teeth that the starter uses to turn the enginr to start it. The part the last responder was refing to is the colling fan. While a cluth fan (which a 95 jimmy has) can spin faster than the engine RPM, it wouldn't reflect on the tachometer. I would guess you have an issue with a TPS (thottle position sensor, or the IAC (Idle Air Control).

What if check engine light keeps on flashing after changing spark plugs?

First of all you would be best to invest in a handheld system analiser check device which can be used on most modern vehicles, basic models are only around £30 - £35 now, and plugging this into your access socket, normally situated halfway between the drivers door and centre console, will give you an error code that you can look up on the code manual that comes with the device. This normally tells you exactly where the problem lies without checking everything one by one. It will pay for itself as well, as garages charge anywhere from £50 to £100 + for just one reading. Flashing warning light often means a misfire so check continuity of each ht lead, check plugs are seated well and that (i'm sure you have) set the plug gap correctly. Also worth checking plugs for continuity as even thought they are new there might be a faulty one. Bad plug gaps can sometimes "upset" the fuel mix and set off the rear lambda sensor. Also worth cleaning ht lead connections as mine suffered from moisture problems but cleaning up the contact points seemed to help. How do you reset the check engine light on a 1999 Toyota RAV4?

You can't. Best advice is to take it to a facility equipped to do diagnostics to find out why it is on and if it is on by mistake they will reset it. If you don't get the diagnostics it could cost you a lot of money.

It can be turned off by disconnecting the negative battery cable for a few mins. If its a hard code then it will come back on, mine came on and being a former mech. I put fuel injector cleaner in it, that solved the problem till that tank of gas ran out, then it came on again ,i then changed the gas filter and that solved the problem, the fuel injectors were clogging from the dirty fuel filter.

Why would the check engine light on a 1998 VW Jetta intermittenly go on for a day and then off and sometimes blink on and off for a minute but a scan for problem codes shows none?

first of all,you should check conections to your car's computer.sometimes it gets something on and it shows you wrong information.you should take the connection out and clean it with the knife careful.

AnswerI also have a 98 Jetta that the check engine light goes on and off. Sometimes it stays on for a day, some times a month then will stay off for as long as six months. Volkswagen told me it's a sensor located in the front right fender that senses fuel fumes from the gas tank to a recirculation valve on the engine. They said it's a $30 part that will cost $300 in labor to get to. Volkswagen recommended I not worry about unless I had the $330 dollars to throw away. They said it has no effect on the performance of the vehicle and all other critical systems have independent warning lights. Hope that helps. My light has been comming on and off since 98. Oil and coolant good? Don't worry about it. Something as simple as your Gas cap not being tight enough can make that thing come on Lol

How do you remove the stereo in a 1996 Oldsmobile cutlass supreme?

On my 1996 Oldsmobile cutlass supreme it was very easy to remove the stereo. The entire plastic molding piece that surrounds the stereo as well as covers the speedometer is attached by some push clips and can be simply pulled off, no screws. Once the plastic surrounding is removed there will be 2 screws holding the stereo in place. Remove the 2 screws and pull the stereo out. Unplug the wire harness and antenna.

Causes of check engine light?

There are pages and pages of things that can cause a check engine light. You need to have it checked with a scantool. Then the code can be diagnosed and repaired.

Check engine light flashes on PT Cruiser while accelerating.?

What does it mean if you reset your check engine light and it comes back on after a couple of days?

It means the problem that caused the light to come on in the first place was not fixed or there was more than one problem stored on your PCM. You need to scan your PCM to help pin point the problem so you can repair it before you clear the codes.

What is wrong when the service engine soon light abs light track off light all came on at the same time in your Grand Am GT Ram Air?

I HAD THIS SAME PROBLEM ON MY 2002 GT1, IT ENDED UP BEING THE PASSENGER SIDE ABS SENSOR SWITCH WHICH IS PART OF THE WHEEL BEARING ASSEMBLY.COST ABOUT 160.00 AND TAKES ABOUT 1/2 HR TO INSTALL YOURSELF I ALSO HAD THAT HAPPEN BECAUSE THE BATTERY WAS BAD BUT IT STILL WOULD START THE CAR
