Try disconnecting the battery for about 10 minutes (sometimes this works)

or bring to a shop and have vehicle scanned to determine the problem and clear codes From the Owners Manual - Press in and hold the ODOMETER RESET, then start the engine. This will need to be done about every 5000 miles as it is also used to remind you to get your OIL CHANGED.

That is your check engine light. It could go on for a # of reasons. Quick fix? Check your gas cap, it will go on when it's been off for too long, or loose. If that's intact, check ALL of your oils & fluids.

If those are all ok, take it into the shop for a diagnosis. It could be something easy to fix before it turns into a bigger problem!

Does it say Engine Prot? means that you might be low on fluids such as coolant and the longer you run with it it, it will start to slow down the engine until u stall out....happen to my cat c7 in my freightliner. and it turns out i blew my cooling system.

Most of the time, yes, unless it is flashing. A check engine light can come on for something as minor as an oxygen sensor going bad. Most manufacturers use the "Steady" for minor things and "Flashing" for serious things.

In Massachusetts you cannot pass inspections with your engine light on.

check your gauges first is it running hot ? is the oil pressure ok ? if the engine seems to be running fine then it could be a bad ground theres alot of things that could cause this but those are the easyest to determine

Have a dealer or mechanic check for "trouble codes". It's probably the oxygen sensor(s).

Engine Warning Light

There are pages and pages of things that can cause a check engine light. You need to have it checked with a scantool. Then the code can be diagnosed and repaired.

It is the intake air temp is low. The sensor that is in the air intake before the throttle body is probably disconnected.

The "0" in p0112 is generic. See Mazda specific codes below--look at P1112. Locate the sensor by facing engine and find a black box in front of you. The sensor is to the right of the black box and it's the second connector.

You have changed enough to confuse the computer. Have you checked with an OBDII handheld to see what codes are popping up?

PO420 Catalyst System Efficiency Below Threshold. I believe it is catalyst system efficiency below threshold, bank 1. That is one option. Toyota had a problem with the ECM (Engine Control Module) giving this false code and manufactured a new ECM to eliminate this problem (ie. old part number 89661-0861 to new part number 89661-08062).

A fuse does not cause the check engine light to come on. Modern cars have a bunch of little sensors. Each one can set off the check engine light. You can hook your car up to a computer and check it out to find out which one it is. You can even hook up a wire and a little bulb and count the number of flashes. You can check it out. The number of flashes can tell you what is wrong. For example, on some chevrolets 015 is a sensor right above the thermostat. If that one goes off, it might be time to change the thermostat.

Your question makes no sense at all, so I will assume you are asking about the Check Engine Light as that is the category you posted the question in. The check engine light is on because the ECU has detected a problem with the emissions system. Have the ECU scanned with an OBD2 scan tool which will retrieve the code that has been set. This code will tell you what part of the emissions system is being effected.

One can read the check engine codes without hiring a professional by checking the car manual. All car manuals describe how to read the codes for that car.
