i have a 98 accord also and had this particular problem, if the problem occurs when you take turns, it is most likely oil pressure. you should top up your oil and make sure your oil pump is providing adequate pressure. the problem will not show any signs unless the oil pressure drops signifigantly than you may be replacing your engine. josh

P0300 Diagnostic Code - Random Misfire

The Fix
Best first action is a tune up, new plugs, wires, inspect all hoses and wire connections then reset the code. If it returns you will need to narrow it down to a system, coils and coil packs should be tested, catalytic converters for function ( do you smell rotten eggs?). A misfire that jumps cylinders could indicate a lean condition, do you have any other codes along with the 300? this will help clue you in to the source, check valve function to make sure they are opening and closing fully.
This is probably pone of the most difficult codes to troubleshoot, so start with the basics and work your way into the more expensive options, in many cases a good old tune up solves the problem, back it up with a fuel system cleaning and see where you stand.

That requires an engine scanner to do that. If you don't repaire what made the light come on in the first place it will just come back on.

It can mean many many things. Have the ECU scanned with an OBD2 scan tool. This will retrieve the code that has been set.

Remove the negative battery cable for two minutes. The light should reset. If it comes back on within a short amount of time, something is obviously wrong and needs to have a diagnostic check by plugging in a tester at a local auto parts store or mechanic at a garage.

Not too much, really. Regular oil changes help a lot. Older pre-1987 versions required frequent valve cover gasket replacement. If using more than 12-1 compression, pay attention to the quality of your head gaskets. No such thing as too good.
