If the shift knob on a 1995 Chevy Beretta broke off from the metal bar, the metal bar is called the shift lever. The shift lever might be available at a reduced price from an automobile salvage yard.
It is possible that there is a wire that is frayed or cut some where in the stering colum. or it is being pinched to much when the wheel is in the up postion. if it becomes too serious have it checked by an atuo repair tech. by: wolverine
What tools should you use to get the caliper bolts to break loose?
That depends on what type of bolt it is. Some use an Allen wrench while others have a bolt head (ie,1/2 inch or 13mm ect...) The best thing to use on a bolt head is a box end wrench, the rule of thumb is, left to take off. right to tighten. Keep in mind that you are looking at it backwards, so looking at the caliper it would be right to take off and left to put it on. Take the wrench and make sure it is on the bolt head, have the wrench straight up then take the palm of your hand and hit the wrech to your right a little at a time so you don't bust up your hands. The same will go for the Allen wrench.
Low rear end on Beretta. Could this be bad shocks?
shocks/struts have nothing to do with how high the car rides.... you have bad springs, or too much junk in the trunk...

How do you install an ignition module for 1989 beretta?
First disconnect the negative battery cable then make sure engine is cool before you do the next step, disconnect the cooling fan then remove then remove the four bolts that hold the fan in, remove the upper radiator support mount, jack the car up, make sure you put it on jack stand, there is a bolt on the bottom of the ignition module mount, you have to remove that from under the car, then remove spark plug wire make sure you label them before you remove them because if you don't you will change the firing order and you car may not start or run right if you don't them back in the correct firing order, OK now disconnect the ignition connector then remove the two bolts, one on each side, then remove the ignition module with the coil pack. installation is the same as removal. Good luck.
How do you change the temperature gauge in a 93 Beretta?
You will need to swap out the entire gauge cluster. You cannot change just the temperature gauge. Remove the center Phillips-head screw under the windshield wiper switch & the center screw underneath the headlights switch. Tilt your wheel all the way down (if you have the tilt steering option). Firmly but gently grab the headlight and wiper switches, and pull toward you. The plastic piece around the gauge cluster should "pop" out. Once the plastic pulls free of the clips, disconnect the harnesses from the wiper and headlight switches. You will then find four small bolts holding the gauge cluster to the dash. Remove them. The gauge cluster will then pull out easily.
The best way to find a replacement gauge cluster is in a junkyard. There are a lot of Berettas and Corsicas there nowadays. Note that the odometer is included in the gauge cluster, and it may be illegal to misrepresent the mileage of your car if you're planning on selling it. Try to find a cluster with similar miles. Note: Adding a few more miles is morally better than less miles. ;-)
How to change a radiator on 95 Chevy beretta?
Drain radiator, remove water pump hose, (best If completely removed) reservoir hose, and top hose and both transmission lines. Remove top plate that holds radiator in (keep hold of rubber end caps) doing this first allows the radiator to move a bit aids in next step. Remove bolts that attach A/C core lift up on a/c core to unseat the dowel pins.Radiator should pull out with a little coxing. When installing new radiator be sure to use new fittings put teflon tape on transmission lines. replace rest in reverse order. Be sure to bleed air out of system by cracking the bleeder on the coolant rail while engine is cold wait for it to start spitting coolant then close it. recheck coolant after engine cools off again and Viola.
That is the drain from the heater core housing. It will only leak coolant from there if the heater core starts leaking. This is to help prevent coolant from ruining your carpet/interior. You have a bad heater core. Time to replace it. Good luck!

Why would you have to hold down gas pedal to start a 2.2l fuel injected engine?
In a modern fuel injected engine, holding the accelerator pedal - commonly known as the "gas" pedal - down cuts off fuel supply. When you hold the "gas" pedal down, what you're actually doing is allowing more air into the engine which the computer detects and supplies more fuel, unless the engine isn't running in which case it cuts off the fuel supply by disabling the fuel injectors in most cases.
This is in contrast to a carburated engine. When you hold down the "gas" pedal you are actually doing the same thing. You are allowing more air into the engine, but with a carburated engine, the air flow controls gas flow which brings more gas into the mix.
Sounds like it may have a blown head gasket. The knocking and white smoke would indicate that you are probably looking at a complete overhaul. Someone has driven it with the blown head gasket and bascially ruined this engine. Drain the oil and change the filter. Drive the car to a trusted mechanic and have them check for a blown gasket.
