Why won't 98 windstar GL transmission with 150k shift past second gear?

Assuming you had it from new, did you ever get the transmission fluid changed in 150K? 150K on an original transmission from a domestic auto is probably about all you can expect to get, because they use notoriously pathetic transmissions and having Cadillac trannies shred apart at 30k is not an unusual story. Be prepared to spend because I doubt you could take it to a local transmission shop and have it come away needing nothing more than a 5-dollar spring.

How do you install the key cylinder on a 78 Chevy pickup?

assuming that you're talking about the ignition cylinder on the steering column: you remove the horn button from the steering wheel, remove the safety snap ring from the main steering shaft, then the nut (most likely a 13/16 socket). then you buy or rent a steering wheel puller, remove the steering wheel. after the wheel is removed, you'll need to pry the black plastic cover from the wheel lock ring, which is what locks the steering wheel when the key is in the off or lock position. you'll need to get another tool now, to hold the lock ring down against the spring about 1/4 inch, while you remove the small outside snap ring from the groove in the steering shaft (pry it out of the groove with a small flat screwdriver). once the snap ring is out and the lock ring is removed, remove three Phillips screws which hold the turn signal switch in place, and pull it out and down over the shaft (leave the wiring harness attached, and let it hang down while you change the lock cylinder). now turn the ignition switch to the run position, remove the screw that holds it in the column, and pull the switch (cylinder) out. reverse procedure to re-install new cylinder.

What type of mileage could you expect from 1995 Chevy 2500 with natural gas conversation?

I drive a 2000 C2500 with a vortec 5700 bifuel, natural gas and gasonline. On natural gas I get around 14-16 and up to 18 when running Gasonline. This truck has a utility bed by stahl on it that adds considerable weight to the truck. I drive fairly conservatively as well.

What would cause a gas gauge not to work in a 1997 Chevrolet pickup?

There is only a few things that can cause this kind of failure.
Faulty gage.
Severed or shorted wire
Stuck float on the sending unit (The pump and Sending Unit are in one piece in the fuel tank itself)
Or a fault in the sending unit itself.

If the gauge is intermittent, call your closest Chevrolet Dealer and ask about the Chevron fuel treatment. GM carries a part number for it. Teckron (sp?) is the additive that cleans the sending unit and usually makes it work (again)!

Why does your Ford fiesta diesel take a long time to start?

Your glow plugs are not heating up. You may have bad glow plugs or relay. try turning on the key ( this should start the warming of the plugs and a light on the dash will come on letting you know it is ok to start if not the relay is bad) if no luck turn off the key and let it cycle again. if it is still difficult to start you may need new glow plugs.

What is the difference between a Chevy Silverado and a GMC Sierra?

The Silverado and Sierra may look the same on the outside, but are actually pretty different under the shell. The Silverado has been and has always meant to be the cheaper version of the Sierra. The Sierra, as well as all GMC trucks, have always meant to be the better-built, stronger, more luxurious, and more suitable versions of its Chevrolet brothers. The Silverado is practically the standardized, stock model while the Sierra is the big boy truck.

After you start your 1992 Chevy Cheyenne the exhaust smoke is horrible what causes this?

Blue smoke at startup, that clears up within a few minutes is normally cause by worn valve seals. Blue smoke that continues is oil burning. Black smoke is fuel burning from an overly rich fuel mixture. White smoke is normal at startup, especially during the winter, but if it does not dissipate rapidly, it can be a sign of coolant entering the combustion chamber. If it is coolant, it will smell sweet, you will be loosing coolant, and this is a sign of serious trouble. Usually a blown head gasket or cracked/warped head. First is what you call smoke BLUE, BLACK, or like FOG or STEAM ??? Black smoke usually fuel Blue smoke usually oil Steam/Fog usually water or coolant Now , the big question is whats the cause? Flooding fuel injector?, Worn piston rings?, Blown head gaskets?
