If you reach under the drivers side of the dashboard, just above the gas pedal, there is a control cable. If you turn the distribution knob and the end piece doesn't move at all then the housing for the cable has broken. It's just a plastic clip so it breaks easily. If you take some tape or super glue and put the selector knob in the proper function while you hold the clip in place it should be simple just to throw a little on the clip.

YOu will have to remove the rear seat and the cover. This will make the fuel pump visible. Once you do this you will have to disconnect the two fuel lines and electic plugs. One you turn the lock, the fuel pump assembly will come out.

yes its looks are cute, but I seriousley woulnd buy one ever again. First of all they have this problem with blowing head gaskets, The parts are difficult to buy unless you know or have a dealer near you. Other then that you will have to wait quiet along time. Your insurance is higher, because this company no longer ecsitst. All in all they are nice care. With crappy motors. The timing belt is attached to the water pump this means if your pump goes so does your head. And all this happens within a matter of seconds. ( MY WARNING TO YOU? DONT BUY ONE!!) Thank you.

1342 is the firing order of the cylinders, the question was order of the plug wires between the plugs and the distributor, which I have found from another source, the sequence from the distributor starting at the top is: top plug goes to #1 cylinder (far left), second plug goes to #4 cylider (far right), third plug goes to #2 cylinder and fourth plug goes to #3 cylinder. Hope this helps some people since I couldn't find it anywhere online. I also believe this is the same for all Daewoo models in this age range with 4 cylinder motors as this sequence came off a Nubira but worked for my Lanos.

I started by removing the camshaft cover, then I realized the many other parts have to be removed before being able to succesfuly replace the sensor.... I also would like to know the procedure. Thanks

It's more than likely the Idle Control Valve which is at fault. If you follow the thick black pipe from black Air Filter Box, It's fastened to a long square metal box. Just where the pipe joins on the metal box closest the windscreen is a thing sticking out with wires fastened fastened to it. This is the Idle control valve, two small screws hold it on. They are not that expensive.

The problem here is that you either have tensioned your timing belt too much or your crank timing marks is out of alignment. It shouldn't be out of alignment if the car starts though, because on these Daewoos if you are one tooth out on your timing belt, there is a high risk of possibly bending your valves and damaging your piston heads.It is an interference engine of course. If your timing belt is very tight, it would only last up to six months anyway, could snap and engine seizure will occur. you must correct the problem immediately!!

Hi, Disconnet the battery cables from the battery. Disconnest the battery cable from the back of the Starter motor, and the other red wire., then undo the two bolts holding the starter motor in place one on top and one below the starter motor., withdraw the starter motor from the motor and remove from the car, Installation is the reverse of the dissassembly instructions. It depends on the engine:- SOHC Cylinder head underneath the ignition coil. DOHC Cylinder Head under underneath the intake nanifold

iirc sensor 1 bank1 is a pre cat lambda sendor. Its the first one visiable on the manifold/downpipe from the engine before the catalytic converter. you just undo the multiplug and remove the sensor with a spanner turning the whole sensor anticlockwise, screw in the new sensor, tighten it up and reattach multiplug.

Take small flathead screwdriver and remove front faceplate trim. This will just pop out with a bit of leverage. There should be a screw on either side of the radio cage. Remove both screws and the radio should pull straight out. Unplug the antenna lead and the multiplug lead from the radio. Next, look on either side of the dadio cage. There will be two screws holding the radio into the cage. Remove these two screws and the radio will separate from the cage. Take the new radio and insert into the cage. Installation is the reverse of removal. You will probably need an adapter from your radio to the car's multiplug. Also the antenna lead can be a pain to reinstall on the aftermarket radio.

if it is dule overhead cams the only thing to adjust is cam end play witch should be 0.003-0.009 and the cam shaft bolts should be tighten to 12 ft.lbs (67 nm)

I am not an expert but had the same problems. Even though they say that they are not conected. Check the level of your power steering fluid, it takes transmission fluid not power steering. I had a leak in my powersteering hose and would have to constanly refill it, when ever it became low the car would then start shifting hard every now and then. I lost the cap to the powersteering which caused air to get into the lines and again started having hard shifting. After fixing the hose and getting another cap I haven't had a problem since. Like I said I have been told that the two lines are not connected but the problems stopped when I quit getting air in the lines through the lack of cap and through the leaky hose.

The compression gauge reading should be no less than 100 psi. Check all 4 cylinders and note the readings. The lowest should not be less than 70% of the highest reading.

The jack points on my daewoo lanos look like little cut out notches on the underside of the body. I have a 2001 Y reg model. Hope that helps. There is a good illustration of it in the handbook if you still have it.

As you look at the engine from the front of the car, the thermostat is inside a housing located on the front of the engine on the left side. There is a large hose and a small hose that come off of the housing and two bolts that hold it to the engine. You must replace the entire housing and it costs about $45, but it's a simple job.
