How do you install a fan belt on a Dodge Caravan?

First draw a map of the pulley wheels then draw the belt routing. You need a good quality extra long 15 mm combo wrench (snap on ) to be honest this belt can be a toughie if you are not a technician. It has a tight spring tensioner, and is tough on the hands. Also, replace the tensioner around 80,000 miles as they wear and tend to throw the belt off. Pull on auto tensioner with long 15mm wrench until the belt loosens. Slip belt over pulley, reverse procedure, make sure the belt is in all the grooves.

Where are the bolts on the starter for a 2003 Dodge Caravan?

the starter is real easy and quick..the bolts actually are torx bolts so they don't look like youre used to. they are on the starter and it is easy to remove with car on stands or ramps. disconnect the hot side of the battery however. The starter is pretty infallable it has a 1dollar part that is replaceable it is a copper disk that makes the contact for the solenoid and starter drive. It is this item that usually bad...also easy to replace. just keep track of parts. I did the whole job in about 20 minutes before I had to pick up my daughter at school..and it was my first time.

On the 3.3 engine they are not torx. They are 15MM bolts. The bottom one is a piece of cake. The top one is tougher. It has a stud on the top of it with a 13MM nut that holds two ground wires and has a nylon insert so you can't just loosen it then spin it off with fingers. I recommend a deep socket (not too deep because of obstructions) and a universal joint on the socket. After removing that, then you need a 15mm deep socket to get the bolt itself off. Because of obstructions you can only get a small swing with a wrench. Also, remove the negative terminal of the battery. Attempting to remove the positive terminal while the negative is still connected could result in a big arc, fire, exploded battery, if the wrench you are using to remove the positive terminal comes in contact with any metal chassis or engine parts.

P0300 Random cylinder misfire on a 97 grand am what does that mean?

One of the hardest codes to track down.

The system has detected a misfire that cannot be attributed to any one cylinder.

The best way to go is cheapest first, so install new, properly gapped spark plugs and replace the plug wires. That will leave only the much more expensive coils and ignition control module for that system.

If no change then move on to the fuel system before spending big bucks.

also this could be caused by bad fuel performance or clogged injectors so change the fuel filter, check fuel pump performance, and first try a fuel injector cleaner before removing and cleaning them or replacing them.

O2 sensors are relatively cheap and could possibly set off the code.

If all this fails ( basicly what you have done is a tune up) I suggest having the car put on an engine diagnostic computer to possibly track down the source of the misfire.

Changing out any of the more expensive parts without knowing if it will repair the problem is not a good idea and is costly, an engine diagnostic will cost around $100 and is well worth the money when the tune up has not improved the situation.

What kind of generator is suitable for a 5 berth caravan?

For a 5 berth caravan, a portable inverter generator is typically the most suitable option. These generators are lightweight, quiet, and provide clean power, making them ideal for running sensitive electronics and appliances like fridges, lights, and chargers. Aim for a generator with a power output of at least 2000 to 3000 watts to ensure it can handle your power needs comfortably. Additionally, look for models that are fuel-efficient and have a good runtime to maximize convenience during your travels.

What if your 1991 lumina turns over but doesn't fire?

Hi thereI got stuck in Germany with my 91 Pontiac grandprix.Similar problem ,had two garages looking the car over after being hauled back to holland , then decided to find out myself.Turned out to be a cracked crankposition sensor. Engine oil creeping into the cracks changes the resistance of the coil in the sensor. You can check this with a multimeter atached, set on ohms.Move a piece of metal in front of the sensors tip and when moving it away again , the resistance should drop off.I got a good used one for 5,- , no more starting trouble.

Good luck.

Answercheck the fuse for the fuel pump AnswerI fixed mine. It was the CRANK SENSOR. It's in a hard to find place; got it from under the car, its in between the oil pan and the trany. At the top of the oil pan in the block on a downward angle. There are two other thinges in the block just above it to the right. (looking from under the car)

My 94 Lumina APV (3.8L) would not start (when warm) - cranked but acted as if no spark or fuel.

Mechanic replaced computer @ $350 (said too many error codes to diagnose problem) - did not resolve problem. Then he replaced the camshaft position sensor (CMP) @ $125 - that solved the problem.

Why is radiator fluid leaking and white smoke coming from the exhaust?

You might have a blown head gasket or your engine block is cracked.

Edit to add; The white smoke is steam. That means that your coolant got into your cylinders. A blown head gasket is the most likely cause, but a cracked engine block or warped aluminum heads are possibilities.
