Simple, you don't. This is what's known as a Quad 4 motor, not a fun one. You basicly need to take the side of the motor off to get to it, big job. Take it to a shop.

It's a bad job, but it's not a terrible job. Get a Haynes manual, and pay VERY close attention to the part about the timing chain tensioner. There is a section that tells how to set it to make installing easy, but you have to read CAREFULLY and re-set it before you button things back up. I missed that part this weekend and had to tear it back apart.

Also, there is a part called the heater hose connector on the back of the motor where the heater hose connects to the pump. It's plastic, and WILL break. Checkers stocks these for $10. The timing chain tensioner shoe has a little clip that you have to bend to remove it. This will also break. Checkers again, $14.99. Save yourself a LOT of headache and buy these two parts. If you don't break them, you can return them.

The bad news..yup, you have to pull the exhaust manifold. This whole job is pretty smooth if you have a 3/8" air ratchet and a really short 10mm socket to take off the 1054 bolts holding the timing cover on.

I`m Almost Certain Your Question Is About The Radio. The Amps Right Channel & Left Channel Are Inside The Stereo. If You Are Trying To Increase You Sound Output Opt For An Aftermarket Stereo System. Good Luck Some Ford cars and trucks ( I have a 1996 Bronco Full Size XLT) have a "premium" stereo package that includes an external amp. The head unit does not actually drive the speakers. This amp is often in the rear of the car, try looking in the side panels towards the back. Or contact a Ford dealer and if they are nice they can look it up on microfilm.

look behind the fuse panel (on the back side of where the regular fuses are) which is under the dash on the left side. It should be the 20amp fuse.

I would say you have a short. possibly the fuse box under the hood to explain most of it the only reason the radio would change stations because of this is if there are controls on the steering wheel? Humidity is to blame for many electrical problems.

I was told that it was a problem with the XCM module. But then again this was told to me by Dodge who just did 2 recalls on my durango and messed up my steering so it went back in to get fixed and they replaced the whole steering column as well as the broken part and now the recall that was done by them is no longer there so now I have to go get the recall for the shift lever block DONE again. But I do have that same issue with my service 4wd light being on with no code. It came on after I installed a new battery. ???
