How do you troubleshoot and fix a hazards flasher problem on a 91 dodge shadow?
This depends on your problem. A couple questions in this faq deal with this already. If your hazards come on but don't flash, just stay solidly lit, then most likely it's the flasher relay.
Where is the thermostat on a 1991 Dodge shadow located?
You can find the 1991 Dodge Shadow thermostat in the thermostat housing. The thermostat housing will be on the front of the engine.
The Shadow convertible top was never designed to go all the way down. When sold originally, they came with a vinyl boot that was to cover the roof rails and be stored in the trunk when not in use. Notice the snaps above the speakers in the back seat area and the three above the trunk area for the boot cover. There was a booklet included with your owners manual titled"Convertible--Owner's Manual Supplement". It is a red and white striped 21 page booklet on do's and don't's. You can probably find it online like eBay etc. Remember, the Shadow had it's top literally cut off to become a convertible. That is why there are three pieces of plastic surrounding the base of the soft top and trunk.

Removing the starter on 1993 dodge shadow?
assuming you have a 2.5 or 2.2 turbo or TBI the starter motor is in the rear of the engine, 1 nut (14mm?) on the right side of the engine (on tranny) and two longish bolts (14mm?) on the actual starter motor on the opposite side. Then disconnect the power and ground wires attached onto the starter motor, power is 10mm or 12mm socket and ground is 6mm or 7mm
Where are the timing marks on a 1991 dodge shadow four cylinder?
As in many cars, the mark is on transmission bell housing. You have to remove the air filter box and below it, on the transmition bell housing you will find the windows and marks. You can see the scale (marks) and using timing lamp is easy to see the mark on the plate. For a better adjusment is recommended to adapt the filter while you are adjusting time; I use to fix it by turning 180 degrees it while I'm reading with the lamp
I just ran across the same problem. My 94 Dodge Shadow just quit while I was on the expressway. It was as if you just turned off the key. The problem we have found was that the timing belt had jumped time and the valves were not opening at the appropriate time, therefore losing compression. If you take off the No.#1 Spark plug and have someone put there hand over the hole and then turn the motor over a couple of times, thr compression should blow your hand off the spark plug hole. If it does not, then you probably have had your timing belt jump time. This is true to the first answer, however it is sometimes hard to determine up or downstroke on the #1 piston, They both have some compression. Let me tell you a cheap inexpensive way I have done with many cars like this. This one in particular. You already know the timing is off, so Go to your local library instead of buying a book, They usually keep chilton and other manuals on hand. Print off the pages you need for this. (Usually 10 cents) Buy the belt and go home, jack vehichle up remove right wheel and align the sprockets. Put the belt on and you are in business for what would be a 300.00 job for about 45 dollars..On these engines you don't have to worry about being off 180 degrees as well as the 3.0 v-6.. The whole story here is get the info for free.. The cam belt is broke. It must be replaced every 60,000 miles. My turbo had a cam shaft break in half.
Why is my 1991 dodge shadow overheating?
Well, first of all...I have an 89 Shadow and the little 4 bangers in them are know to run a lil on the hot side. But if your car is obviously overheating, other than the "my engine is hot after I drive it", then I would start with the cheapest things first. While you engine is cool, take the radiator cap off and make sure you have enough Anti-freeze. After that put the cap back on and start the motor..check to make sure your water pump is spinning/belt is good. Hey, don't laugh...you would be surprised at how many car problems I have solved for friends because of loose worn belts. If all is good...then I would check the thermostat. Other than that it could be a faulty water pump, readiator, temperature sensor, cooling fan or resistor. Hope this helps.
You need to take it to a Transmission Shop and have it serviced. Transmission Fluid should be changed every 2 years according to the Manufactures. When was the last time you had it serviced? Good Luck and Remember.

What make a 91 dodge shadow lose power at high rpm?
Rev limiter?
Bad fuel filter?
Bad air filter?
Clogged catalytic converter?
Hi, I presume all of the speeds stopped. I have a 1991 Shadow that did the same thing. After checking the blower motor and all other components for working order. I was perplexed. I was going to bye pass the fuse box and wire up the motor through a fusable link. When I took the fuse box off, the motor started blowing. All speeds worked. I replaced the fuse box. I started the switch and nothing happened. I removed the good fuse and while tugging on it the fan kicked in again. I wiggled the wires where they go in to the fuse. and replaced the fuse and reinstalled the box. It has been working since. Good luck. The blower motor draws so much current that the fuse can get hot and turn into a resistor. Always try a new fuse even though the one in there looks good. Do this before doing the more difficult things.

How do you change the thermostat on a 1990 dodge shadow?
Follow the upper radiator hose from the radiator to the engine. Where it goes into the engine, there will be 2 bolts. These bolts are on the thermostat housing. Remove the upper radiator hose from the housing. Then remove both bolts, and pull out the housing, your thermostat will be in there. It sits freely in the housing, so it might fall out. (You may have to remove 2 nuts that hold the dipstick on to get to the bolts. The nuts are right on the bolts themselves)

I've had to replace the fuel pumps on each of my Dodge Shadows. An easy check is to turn the ignition key to just before the starter starts to crank, and you should hear the whirling sound of the fuel pump. The sound only lasts a second or two so listen closely. The gasoline can start to develop a sticky substance in it if it just sits around for along time. There is a product called "Stabil" or something like that, that you can get at the auto parts store if you plan on keeping gas in the car for along time, to prevent this. Of course its to late now, but keep in mind for next time.
Do you have a serpentine belt diagram for a dodge ram 2500 hemi?
I found this picture when I was having problems getting my fan belt back on my dodge. I have an '04 Dodge Ram 1500. It worked, after fighting with it for over an hour I found this picture and had it done in a few minutes. See related link below: Tips for installing serpentine belts: If you can't find a routing diagram under your hood anywhere, draw one of your own beforeremoving the belt. Keep in mind that there is only 1 correct way that the belt will fit, and that the grooved pulleys will only contact the grooved side of the belt (which is the inside), and the smooth pulleys will only contact the smooth side of the belt.
