Why don't bake lights come on when pressing the brake peddle?
Possibly blown fuse or defective brake light switch.
For no good reason!!! Smoking wires is never normal. This means that something is probably very wrong and the wires are getting very hot. Now you need to find what is making the wires overheat and that's where is can get tough. It can be a variety of reasons. For some reason the wire either can't handle the juice going through it and is breaking down or too much juice is going through it and is breaking it down. Take care of this immediately because it WILL cause a fire! It sounds as though you may not know a whole lot about cars but please listen! Don't drive the car and have it looked at immediately before it catches fire and hurts someone. Where there is smoke, fire soon follows!
did you have a hot spark when you tested for spark ? i did you test the fuel pump pressure ? did you cheak for pulse on the coil to see if you were getting a signal ? i have spark, gas, the fuel pump works great and the coil is getting plenty of signal but it still wont start What was the fuel presure reading ?
How do you know when your clutch is bad?
There are various ways through which you can know when your clutch is bad. When you are having troubles shifting gears, this might be a clear indication of a clutch problems.
this answer is out of the haynes code book. code 35 idle air control valve or cicuit. Or idle speed control switch or circuit(shorted). good luck
One tip on the Idle Air system on GM's - some need to have a special reset on that part to clear the code. On the 1980-1990's GM's the procedure was to drive the car at a speed exceeding 50 mph for a minimum of five minutes, continuous. You will need to make sure the car stays above 50 for the full five minutes. Make sure to find a nice stretch of open highway where the legal speed will let you do this. This will cause the computer to push the idle air system wide open, then fully closed, to check it over the whole range. After this you can clear the codes and the code should not come back.
If it does, cleaning of the intake may help, since dirt in the passages can affect this system also.
How do you remove front coil springs 1990 ford Ranger 4X4?
Actually, no you don't need a spring compressor. What you need to do is loosen the lug nuts, raise the vehicle and support it with jack stands right behind the radius arm mounts on the frame rails. Then, remove the wheel and tire, next place your jack underneath the axle beam where it will allow you to control the movement of the axle assembly. Then with the axle beam supported remove the upper nut, washer and bushing from the shock. Now with a breaker bar or sturdy ratchet, a long extension and a 1 and 1/8" socket( deep well maybe necessary) remove the nut that is inside the coil spring at the bottom. You may want to spray some penetrating fluid on this a while before you attempt to remove it as the nut can be very rusty. Ounce the nut is removed fish out the large washer that holds the spring in place and you can slowly lower the jack as you do the spring will loose tension ounce the jack is down you can begin removing the spring usually the spring can be removed simply by rotating it and it will sort of twist off the retaining tabs at the to of the spring tower if not simply use a suitable punch to tap the retaining tabs inward and remove the spring. Assembly is the reverse just be sure to have everything tight and the tabs at the top bent back around the top coil of the spring. Hope this helps.
Need a spring compressor, if u do not have access to one, take to a shop. as u can get hurt w/o one.

What does A.Y.C stand for on Mitsubishi lancer evo 4?
To help explain: In an aeroplane you can change direction using the wing flaps, or the rudder on the tail fin, to turn left or right, its a similar set up on an evo, where the back end is meant to follow the front end with some additional computer controlled assistance.
on the later Evo 7-9 they also use a pressure system to control the traction in the center diff, to prevent all 4 wheels spinning, if in gravel or snow, compared to the traction found on dry tarmac.

You need to install a spark plug heli=coil. It is new threads that go in the head. If you aren't familiar with it you may have to get a mechanic to do it. You may also have to pull the head but it is better than buying a new one.
