Your grand jeep Cherokee 02 V8 is making a noise like the tire is rubbing with something when you make a sharp turn just on the left side what could it be?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

If its a high pitch noise and its not rubbing on the wheel well, its probably your power steering going down additional info: A cheaper thing to look at would be this: It may be that the tire is contacting the platic fender liner in the wheel well. Did you just replace the tires and go for a lil bit different size than you had? check inside the wheel well for fresh rub marks (clean black plastic and check your tires also for rub marks. I put 235X15 tires on my Limted which were slightly larger than the original equipment and the tire rubbed the liner only when the car was moving and at full steering stop to the right side. The owners manual shows that tire size as compatible with this make and model but I assume that the shocks and other suspension components have sagged somewhat over the years allowing this to happen. I took a sharp blade and carved off a little bit of that plastic from the liner and the problem was solved. You might also have someone look at your shocks etc for wear... Good luck !!!!

How do you fold the back seats down in a 2003 Pontiac grand prix SE?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

Make sure the front seat is not reclined. If it is, the rear seatback may not fold down all the way.

To lower the rear seatback, follow these steps:

Disconnect the rear center lap-shoulder belt latch, if equipped, by using a pointed object to press the release button.

Pull forward on the seatback tab located on the outboard side of the rear seat cushion to fold the seatback down. This gives direct access to the trunk.

Caution: If the seatback is not locked, it could move forward in a sudden stop or crash. That could cause injury to the person sitting there. Always press rearward on the seatback to be sure it is locked.

Caution: A safety belt that is improperly routed, not properly attached, or twisted will not provide the protection needed in a crash. The person wearing the belt could be seriously injured. After raising the rear seatback, always check to be sure that the safety belts are properly routed and attached, and are not twisted.

You were driving and your car tried to die like you were running out of gas you pulled over and went to start it again and it would turn over but not start just keeps cranking?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

Its sounds like the distributor or distributor cap/rotor,something in the timing may be off. High tension cable may be broken, or connectors poor. Or you may have cranked so much that the engine is flooded with fuel, so wait a couple of hours and try again.

Why does my 2003 Pontiac radio not shut off after door is opened?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

I have a 1996 Aurora and it does the same thing. I think this is a "nicety" and stays on so you can gather your stuff and still listen to the radio until you open the door. Then it shuts off. Being a GM product as well, it wouldn't surprise me if it was the same thing going on. Functioning as designed.

How do you check engine codes on a 1995 Isuzu Rodeo?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

You need to either possess a code reader and plug it into the port under the dash on the drivers side, or take it to the dealer who will read it for a fee, or a parts store who will read it for free. Then using that information you can cross the numerical code to a fault reason and figure out what needs to be repaired from there.

How do you fix your 1993 Grand-Am that stalls when put into gear?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

my 93 grand am was doing something similar to the question you ask. It would drive fine at times and then it would die and when restarting would buck, jerk, etc. and had a had time restarting. After sitting it would seem fine. I had to have my crank case heater assembly replaced and now it seems to be running fine.

My 93 SOHC 2.3l did this and I replaced coil pack housing (Actually mechanics shop replaced after testing) and it fixed problem. These engines are notorious for cracked coil pack 'housing' because of coil on plug design the housing takes alot of heat. Let us know what fixed cause it helps others looking for answers. Good luck

It is possible the torque converter clutch is staying engaged, there is a solenoid in the transmission that sticks and wont let the converter release. there is also a plastic orifice that breaks off and becomes lodged in the solenoid causing the same problem. This usually can be distinguished from an engine problem by noting whether the engine runs normally until you actually put the car in gear

How do you replace a timing belt on a 2 point 2 liter Dodge 94 Shadow?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

If you have never done it, I suggest taking it to someone. However, if you have the tools and want to do it yourself. You will need to jack up the car first. Remove right front wheel. This is so you can get to all bolts on the front plastic cover. Remove the bolts, remove the cover/covers if 2 piece. Losen the timing belt tensioner, move away, take off belt, replace, tighten pretty tight with hand. Make sure no slack is present! But not extremely too tight. Retighten all bolts and covers and install wheel. NOTE: If timing belt was broken this is a whole different story. Do not try..Unless you know how..

How do you reset abs warning light on a 2003 corvette?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

Bring to a shop that has an ABS scanner to see if there is a problem - if not have codes cleared

Often rebooting the computer by turning the ignition off then on several times will clear "glitches". Sometimes mine has had to cycle as meny as 20 times to clear a "false" signal.
