What is the easy way to remove the crank shaft sensor on a 1993 Oldsmobile cutlass with a 3.1 V6 engine?

I hope the 96 is not to different than the 93 because I just replaced the crankshaft sensor on my 96. It was located under the power steering pump. I loosened the bolt that holds the tank and positioned it out of the way. Then is was just a matter of one screw and wire harness. The whole proceedure took only 15 minutes. Hope this helps. Your 1997 Ford Ranger 3oL blows continuous hot air from the heaterdefroster even with the temp control on cold Is this a heater control valve problem or possible a vacuum problem with one of the doors?

"in order to blow cold air your car needs freon to work, you may have a leak in your AC system. Have it checked for leaks and recharge it with freon." And if your truck has freon.................. The hot-cold door control motor is bad. It has the vent stuck wide open until you shut the HVAC system off. This motor controls the degree of which the vent opens to allow hot air to pass through. (Good luck on finding a dealer that can get you one though and a mechanic that can install it.) It is behind the dashboard at the firewall and the dash has to be removed to replace this motor. i also had this problem, and then relized that one of my passengers had somehow disconnected with the foot one of the plugs that controls the blowers. It's right under the dash on the passenger side, trying checking that before running to the dealer.

Answer 90 oldstoronado door handle repl1990 olds toronado door handle replacement-take off the interior door panel, this will give access to the handle. there are 2, 7mm nuts on the back side of the handle. remove both, and work the handle out with a small prybar or screwdriver. careful not to bump the power lock mechanism or disconnect it.when u get the handle out of the bolt holes, reach behind it and lift the handle off the push rod that opens door. that's the best i can describe it. simply reverse to install

How do you change oil on 1997 cutlass supreme?

Raise the front of the car on ramps or jack stands, or park it over a ditch.

Place a drain pan of at least 5 quarts capacity under the drain plug that is at the rear of the oil pan just behind the crossmember under the engine.

With a 15mm socket wrench, remove the drain plug. If the engine has been running recently, the oil may be quite hot (200+ degrees F). Take care to avoid having hot oil get on you.

Remove the oil filter. It can be seen from above on the front of the engine, and from below just above and behind the crossmember. There is a drain trough that guides the filter and oil ahead of the crossmember. A socket type oil filter wrench may be used from below, or a strap type from above. A small chain wrench will also work. Unscrew the filter and set it in the drain pan.

Once the oil has drained (it will keep dripping from both the drain plug hole and the oil filter adapter), wipe any dirt from the drain plug hole face and reinstall the drain plug. The O-ring gasket should be slightly proud of the face of the plug head. If it is not elastic, replace it with a new O-ring. The plug should be tightened firmly but not with great force. It must thread in freely with your fingers until the gasket contacts the face of the drain hole in the oil pan.

Wipe all dirt and old oil from the face of the filter boss.

Oil the gasket of the new oil filter with fresh clean engine oil. It is a good idea to fill the new filter with oil before installing it to help oil pressure to come up quickly. Not too much, or oil will spill out when the filter is tilted to screw it onto the filter adapter. The filter must "spin-on" freely. If there is any feeling of tightness at first, unscrew it and try again. Take care not to cross-thread the filter on the adapter.

When the filter gasket contacts the face of the oil filter boss finger tight, turn the filter another 3/4 to 1 turn, preferably with your hand alone. If you have to use the wrench, take care not to overtighten the filter or the filter base may be distorted and allow oil to leak.

Fill the engine with oil recommended by the car manufacturer to the "full" mark on the dipstick. Start the engine and let it run for a minute or so. Watch the oil pressure gauge or light to make sure oil pressure comes up quickly. Look for any leaks underneath, particularly around the oil filter.

Move the car to a level place and turn the engine off. Wait about 10 minutes to let the oil inside the engine drain back into the pan. Check the oil level and add oil if needed to the "full" mark on the dipstick.

If everything is OK, check the oil level again after the car has been driven and add oil to the "full" mark if needed.

How do you tell if your voltage regulator or alternator is the problem?

Answer 1There are several ways, but if you have to ask, the test equipment and procedures are too much to cover here. The make, model, year, engine, accessories, etc., on your vehicle, will set the requirements for the test equipment, tools, and procedures which will be necessary. Also, depending on some of these factors, you may, OR MAY NOT, have a separate voltage regulator. For several years, most alternators have the voltage regulation circuit BUILT IN!

The simplest way is to take your vehicle to one of the major auto parts houses [such as, for example, Advance Auto Parts,AutoZone,or O'Rielly] where they usually can attach test equipment to your engine to diagnose the problem, and usually for FREE.

Or, you could take it to an automotive repair shop, where they normally have a charge for diagnostic services. I think that Wal-Mart stores that have an automotive center will do it for free, BUT if so, I can assure you that you will be under heavy hard sell pressure for them to do the repairs, rather than just doing the troubleshooting for you to then do your own repair.

If you want to do it yourself, go to your local library, study the, probably several, manuals on the subject, and then "check-out" the best one to take with you to refer to while making the repair. Also, most auto parts houses have vehicle specific manuals for sale which are usually up to date, and are pretty good about "talking you through" the diagnosis, and repair procedures.

Also, if you choose to do-it-yourself, you will have to have or buy some test equipment and tools. On the plus side if you do this, is that the manual[s] and tools will then be yours, and available for future projects.

Good luck.j3h.

Can you run an amp wire through the firewall on a 2000 gmc sonoma?

As with most vehicles, the passanger side firewall presents the most viable location to run accessory wiring through. Using a step bit drill in the desired location. To find a desirable location look on both sides of the firewall, engine and passanger compartment to determine the best route. Once the hole is drilled install a rubber gromet, place plastic wire loom around the desired wires to be pass and run them through your rubber gromet.
