How do you change the oxygen senor on 2001 Lexus IS 300 bank 2 sensor 2?
Bank 2 is the bank (you have a V6 engine with two banks of three cylinders) with cylinder #6. This is the left hand side of the engine. If you stand there facing the belts and but your two hands out, your right hand will be near bank two and your left hand will be near bank 1.
Follow the exhaust system from the engine back toward the tailpipe. The second oxygen sensor you encounter is bank 2 sensor 2. Unplug the sensor.
Use an oxygen sensor wrench or oxygen sensor socket to unscrew the sensor. If the sensor won't unscrew easily, start the engine and rev it up to abour 2500 RPM for about 3 minutes, then try unscrewing the sensor with the engine still running. Don't burn yourself. If your tool won't fit well, use a 6-point 7/8 inch box wrench. You can cut the sensor lead if necessary as you've already determined that the old sensor is no longer useful.
Screw the new sensor in, then plug it in. Reset PCM codes.

Should a Bosch 15716 oxygen sensor go before or behind the catalytic converter?
bosch 15716 and bosch 15718 are the same exact sensor, the difference is the length of the wiring the 15718 has a longer wire. Both sensors would go before the catalytic converter. 15717 goes after.

Can the crank position sensor be bad even though it checks out good with an OHM meter?
Yes, but not usually. If the computer is telling you that you have a bad crank position sensor, it could also be a connector or damaged wire. Don't be too literal.
It depends on whether you are in a state that requires Smog certification, and also by what you consider 'runs great'. A faulty Oxygen Sensor will never pass a Smog check, so if one is required to register the vehicle, you have no choice. Just because a vehicle seems to 'run great', doesn't mean that it actually is. I would suggest replacing the sensor as soon as your finances will allow. That sensor is an integral part of the emission system, and the emission system an integral part of the overall performance of the vehicle. Garbage in, garbage out my friend. = )
Are catalytic converters good or bad?
No # It is illegal # It will harm the economy and performance of the car
What happens when you don't have an oxygen sensor for a 1996 dodge ram?
When the O2 Sensors are malfunctioning or missing ,The On Board Computer sets the fuel/air ratio to a default setting. Resulting in really poor gas mileage . Roughly around 12mpg *yuck* (at least this is what I got in a simliar situation on my '96 Dodge Ram 1500) The OBC uses the readings it gets from the O2 Sensors to properly calculate fuel/air ratios ect... So by all means replace them. Unless you like to fill up every two blocks and pay $4 a gallon each time. Hope this helps :)
Where are the Oxygen sensors on 1999 Volvo S80 T6?
There is a section in the midline that carries the exhaust pipes. You will see both small rather oval looking catylitic converters. Mounted on the top of the pipes two are just rear of the conveerters and two are just before. YOu have to be looking on the top of the pipes. the are has a silver heat shield above to protect from the heat.
Where is the oxygen sensor on a 3000 gt located?
You need to be more specific. Like what year and what engine. Either a base SOHC (97-99), a NA DOHC or a twin turbo (91-99). The DOHC models have a front and rear sensor on each manifold. The rear is s pain in the @$$ to get off. The SOHC has one sensor located under the car near the flex pipe in the front. It runs into the car up into the shifter area. Hope that helps. Be careful with the install and make sure the wires aren't touching any metal when you plug it in. I made that mistake and when I started my car I blew my ECI fuse.
