How do you manually raise the convertible roof on a 1993 Pontiac Sunbird?
It is very difficult to manually raise the roof. The top system is hydrolic. I once asked if I can convert it to a manual roof and I was told no way because of the hydrolic system. Sorry for the bad news, but the best thing to do is to figure out what the problem is. If it is the motor you can by pass it with a switch.

If you unhook the hydrolics from your trunk it is fine to do it. It is actually quicker if you do it that way because you can just flip it and go. When you take it off, make sure you have someone with the hoses and a cup to catch the rest of the fluid when you lower it for the first time, otherwise you will have a mess in your trunk.

You probably have a bad washer motor and its drawing too much amperage and it is blowing the fuse or you have a short in the wire .
Where is the thermostat located on a 1992 Pontiac Sunbird?
Very simple. Under the radiator cap. It is one of the rare cars out there that can be serviced so easialy. Simply remove the cap and pull out the thermostat. It will have a small metal bar sticking up if it isn't there then someone has taken it out and it should have one put in.
Stalling at stop lights while in gear for 91' sunbird?
this is from another quetion I answered but you have the same motor and problem .. so here BACK PRESURE Hi .. I own a 91 buick regal custom and I bought it from my father in law for $1 because of the same problem ... he rebuilt the top half of the engine tring to fix the problem ...when I first started it .. i knew .... you have to keep your foot on the gas and the brake to keep it running at a light .... its the Cat ... cut about one inch into your exsust pipe between the cat and the engine ...and she will never stall ..... its gonna be loud but .. if you have $60 you can put a new one on ....... the cats in buicks overheat and jam up or somthin... but it puts to much back presure on the engine and without having the gas pressed it won't hold idle .... so cut it and yes let it run VERY low on fuel and unscrew the gas cap .. if it doesnt make a presure sound like breathing in .... it needs a new cap too ...

stop at you're local parts store and buy an adapter they're usuall under 10 bucks, take you're new aftermarket stereo with you to make sure it's the right fit Was there a plug in for the aftermarket with the wires? You may have to clip the old plugin off and splice the wires together. Hopefully the aftermarket came with a wiring diagram. If not trace what wire goes where and start splicing. If you are not comfortable doing this you can just pay a shop that puts these systems in to do it.
What Pontiac Models were built by GM Canada in 1955?
The models available in 1955 were the Pontiac Pathfinder, Pathfinder Deluxe and the Laurentian. These pontiacs where available with a 261 Cubic inch STRAIGHT 6 or a 265 Cu inch V8.
The 265 V8 was the same as the new V8 introduced by Chevrolet in 1955. The 261 straight six was built for GMC pick-ups and trucks. It was the largest straight six ever installed in a passenger car in the post-War era.
The all-new 1955 Canadian Pontiac was basically a Chevrolet with Pontiac fenders. It rode on the shorter Chevrolet chassis with a 115 inch wheel base.
In the US, the all new Pontiac rode on longer 120 and 124 inch wheelbases. Also Pontiac introduced its own unique V8 in 1955 that became the basis for Pontiac's later 389 cubic inch workhorse used in everything from Catalinas to GTOs. Straight sixes and straight eights were discontinued after 1954 (except for the exceptional but underrated OHC six installed in some 1966-67 Pontiac LeMans and 1967-69 Firebirds).

How do you replace the ignition module of a Pontiac Sunbird?
Undo the two Phillips screws (the lower one is difficult to get) on the distributor cap and remove the cap. Pull the distributor rotor off the shaft. The module is mounted flat across the surface directly below the rotor. It is a semi-circular dark grey or brown piece taking up about half the surface of the distributor face, held on with two small hex-head screws. This is a NOTORIOUS failure item in early Sunbirds, if you have brutally erratic and total no-starts this is something to try early on in the diagnostic game.

How do you install the hard top on a 1993 corvette convertible?
Put the convertible top in the down position, and insert side brace connecters into the slots on the sides of the interior cabin - behind the seat but in front of the rear deck. Place the hard top on the car (line up the holes on accurately). insert torqex head screws into all the holes, and tighten with the wrench that came with the car. Screw holes are in the side brackets, under the sun shades in the front, and there are 2 in the rear deck (rear deck uses normal bolts). Connect the defroster by inserting the wire leads from the top into the connecters that are by the side braces.
How do you remove the top starter bolt on a 1992 Pontiac sunbird?
Access from the topside of the engine compartment drivers side under the intake manifold next to the main wiring harness loom. You'll need a 17mm socket short and a 3inch wobbly extension on a 3/8 ratchet.Next and this is the really fun part.Bend your wrist a bit to snake through the maze of lines and hose and wire looms to find the bolt.Once your there its a matter of slow turns a little at a time till its out.Its also a good idea to have either a jack ready to support the weight of the starter or a friend holding onto it from the bottom if your doing the top last.Otherwise you have to do the top first and then hold onto the starter as you remove the bottom bolt last which is a major pain considering the angle which is really awkward.Don't forget to remove the ground from the battery first and the small wires before releasing the starter from the last bolt. One other important note is to double check the threads on the bolts before installing the new starter because many times theyre really nasty or rusted up pretty bad.Give them a good cleaning or replace them with the exact same part preferribly stainless steel. Also double check the threads on the top bolt to make sure the thread pitch is correct.I got mine from Napa and the thread pitch was wrong. It was standard when it should have been metric. So I had to re-thread the starter bolt hole in order to use my original bolt which was O.E.
Hope this helps
