Fuse for fan in Pontiac transport?

There are fuses and relays for the engine cooling fans located under the hood on the passenger side of the vehicle. The under side of the cover over these fuses has a diagram of the locations and the purpose of these fuses and relays. There are also fuses inside of the dash beside the glove compartment, and you gain access to the by working with the passenger door open, and removing a cover from the end of the dash at that location. These fuses are for the passenger compartment functions of the electrical systems, as well as for some of the under hood functions like the PCM (Powertrain Control Module ie. some of the engine control). The fuse box covers in both locations have a diagram of the fuse functions and locations on the underside.

Can you use a full rim and tire where the spare tire is stored on a 1993 Pontiac Transport?

YES, it fit great on mine. Check the condition of the cable hanger though, for fraying. Mine was fraying when I upgraded to a full size spare, and some where after my full spare disappeared, so now I'm back to the donut. It will hang down somewhat lower, but it shouldn't hange below the bottom of the bumper.

A parking brake diagram for 1996 Pontiac transoprt to manually release it Please Help?

The park brake cable will go from the pedal, through the fire wall down under the vehicle to the back. Near the back somewhere it will slit and go to both rear tires. If it is stuck trying using penetrating oil on the spring looking thing the connects the cable near the middle of the van and also at any exposed areas near the rear tires. Also around the pedal would hurt, but use a silicone spray or something that doesnt smell as bad in the car. If that does work then smacking the rear of the drums with a dead blow hammer sometimes works. If this doesnt work then it might be your calipers that have seized not the em cable. I hopethis helps you.

How do you take off throttle body 1998 Pontiac transport?

You need to disconnect the air intake duct, vacume lines, Wire connectors, throttle and Trans down shift, and cruise control linkages. You also need to drain the cooling system down below the level of the T-body. Begin by making sure the engine is cooled down before starting. Assess what is connected to the throttle body and carefully disconnect and remove everything attached to it. The air intake is held together with large hose clamps, and they need to be losened so you can remove the duct. Drain some of the coolant, and remove the coolant pipes from the throttle body. Label and remove the vacume lines, and identify where the wires connect before removing them. After removing all these other things taht are attached to the throttle body, you remove its mounting bolts. The gasket will probably tear, so you need to scrape off the remains be fore you reassemble with a new gasket.

How do you refill the cooling system with antifreeze On a 1999 Pontiac transport?

It depends what the reason conditions are for the refilling. In all cases be sure that the engine has cooled down completely, before working on the cooling system. If you are just topping it up because the coolant overflow tank level has dropped completely with nothing left in it. Then you might want to remove the rad cap, and fill up the rad to the bottom of the filler neck. Replace the rad cap and fill the overflow tank. ++++++++++++++++ But if the level rizes up into the overflow tank when the engine is warmed up, you simply add the proper coolant directly to the tank. +++++++++++++++++++ If the coolant system has been flushed and cleaned, then use something like this procedure. With the radiator cap removed and the engine cooled down (the cap is on the passenger side of the rad), after making sure that the engine has cooled. Pour the proper coolant into this opening, until it reaches the bottom of the filler neck. Wait to see if the coolant level drops (it will, if you are starting with an empty radiator, because it gets air locked). This will happen within a minute or two. Continue adding coolant until its level doesn't drop anymore. Run the engine with out the rad cap on for a very short time (a couple of minutes at the most ), then shut it off and top up the level again. Now it is time to put the rad cap back on, and only partially fill the plastic overflow tank ( a little more than half full ). Run the engine and let it get up to operating temperature. Shut off the engine and let it cool off considerably(half an hour or more), and notice that the coolant level in the overflow tank changes up, then down, with in the time between when you started to let the engine begin warming up to operating temperature, and then letting it cool down. After it has cooled down, add coolant only to the overflow tank, providing it hasn't gone down until it is completely empty. You could stand by and watch that the level in the tank so that it doesn't drain out completely. If it looks as though it might happen, just add more coolant before it does happen. If the coolant level rizes and falls in the tank with out going empty or becoming drastically overfull, your finished

What would cause a 1997 Pontiac Trans sport van to stall and now wont start backfires through the throttle body?

Check the timing chain, sounds like it jumped!

I have a 92 Pontiac trans sport with a 3.1 engine. A year or so ago, my van was displaying the same symptoms: Backfiring (except mine actually caught fire), engine significantly loses power while driving, engine misses, or engine dies when you put it into gear. If your van has spark, you know it's getting fuel, and all it's doing is turning over, replace the ignition control module. It's located under the rotor cap in the distributor and takes about 10 minutes to install. I have replaced mine twice and after I did that, my van starting running normally again. Also, if you're driving down the road and your van bogs down and has very little power, hit the dash. I'm serious because I got so fed up one day with it losing ower all the time that I just got angry and hit the dash. When I did that, and I still do that, the engine comes back to life. I hope this helps.

Is driving hard?

it takes time and practice you will eventually get it

What causes starting problems in a 1997 Pontiac Transport with a good battery even when it is jumped?

I've had this happen to me 2 times for the following reason. Check and see if it will start while in Neutral. If it does, then it is likely your Neutral Safety Switch. Doesn't necessary mean it is bad, as sometimes it just need to be adjusted. Also, if you know the starter is good, as mine was and I had HAD a good battery, it turned out that I had a dead cell in it. So if it is on that dead cell, it won't start. Also check the starter solenoid.

1998 potiac transport Montana Heater fan turns on even when van is not running and won't turn off while the van is running Any suggestions on what to check?

Many vehicles have been engineered to have the fan motor run at least in low speed as long as the key is on. If the fan is staying on while the key is off, check the key switch to make certain that it is turning off the accessory circuit.

What can cause and how do you fix low oil pressure on a 95 3.8l Pontiac Transport?

Low oil pressure is typically caused by worn rod and/or main bearings. Usually a repair would require a complete engine rebuild. You can usually get a lot of extra service by changing to a heavier grade engine oil. If you've been using 5W15, change to a 10W30 or possibly even a 15W50. That's usually enough to raise your oil pressure and make the engine last for quite a while. Good luck. In addition to the above answer, it may be nothing more than a defective oil pressure sending unit. Replace the sending unit. If you still have low oil pressure, have an oil pressure test run to see if the gauge may be bad. If you do indeed have low oil pressure, an overhaul or at the very least, replacement of the oil pump is the only fix. A compression test will also help narrow it down. A worn engine will have low compression.

Can you raise the window in my 1998 Pontiac transport van?

Yes, I can. Remove the plastic housing from the door with a screwdriver - it pops off/out. release the button/control housing allowing you to clearly see and work with the wiring harness. The button itself easily is removed from the harness connector [well it's not physically easy - you have to pull and rock it and watch the clasps meant to keep it in place.

When you have fully removed the 'button' you will have a connector with 7 wires - a clip - w 7 connecting points for the switch to slide in. Both ends are ground but connect a small piece of wire to Terminal 1 or the small black wire. Jump or connect the other end to terminal 3 [assuming skinny black wire on end is 1] Now with 1 + 3 connected or shorted - also connect with a separate jumber to terminals 3 + 4 - remember there are seven looking like this _ _ _ _ _ _ _. Short 1 and 3 and then short 3 to 4 giving power to motor with voltage polarity set for 'up'. IT's that simple. For Down - short same 1 +3 and then 4 + 5 as 'switch' giving power to lower window. Good Luck.
