My fellow US citizens may think me a little dim-witted for saying it, but the US can be a bit provincial in some ways, and maybe more than a little myopic. [Our European friends and relatives have known these things well for years.] We (along with our neighbors to the north and south) are isolated from most of the rest of the world. We tend to think of English as the only international language of note, even though for decades (centuries?) French was and is an important international language. Spanish is entering the arena as well, although you might find increasing numbers of the US population a little disenchanted with it given our current immigration concerns.

Being called a "prize idiot" is a humorous insult used to suggest that someone is particularly foolish or naive. It implies that the person is deserving of some sort of recognition for their stupidity.

Later a racehorse was named after it, then in 2001 a hip-hop album. It is also in a line from "My Tutor" (1983). Crispin Glover's character Jack is playing with Kitten Natividad's ample chest and exclaims,"Nice, bodacious tatas!" This predates the Ron Jeremy - Kitten Natividad movie but was a year after "An Officer And A Gentleman" and David Keith's Sid Worley character.

Writing to entertain is basically, a speech, newspaper article or some form of letter or advert. It doesn't necessarily need to be lol funny but still. It also needs to contain some form of sarcasm, you can't constantly take the mic out of the subject, you would need to; say if you were interested in walking you could say 'We walkers' so you include yourself in the mic taking.
Very little entertainment does not include speech.

I think that the very first basic assumption of all human beings is that we are programmable entities. Depending upon what we program into ourselves, i.e. what we observe in the world around us, we then act upon those programs. Think about is as if each new baby born is a brand new computer, that takes in data at an amazing rate from it's initial environment. We all need energy (food) and love or companionship to help us to grow, and we all seek out attention in many different ways because it appears that we love to communicate with one another.

Today, there appear to be many humans who don't truly believe that they can program themselves, and thus allow other humans to program them, usually at their own cost. Also, with simple agreed upon programs such as 'not in our lifetime' we drastically limit what we have the potential to do, which is to re-form ourselves from the inside out to believe that we can all live in a dynamic harmony on this beautiful planet. If more humans would honestly search for their own limiting programs and remove them and replace them with programs fostering growth, than I believe that the world can be changed for the positive in just one generation, i.e. if all new human bio-computers (babies) were programmed to know that there is one planet and that we all can share in it's bounty. So, basically, if the first initial program is changed from one of struggle for survival, to celebration in survival, well we'll just have to see what we can do, won't we?
