Who is the publisher or sponsor of gov sites?

  1. Author
    • Look for whoever wrote the page. If it's not listed at the bottom or the top of the page/article that you're using, look on the "contact us" page or "about us" page of the website.
    • You may not find an individual author. This is okay (if you feel that the site is reputable and reliable). In most citation styles, you would just skip this information.
    • The organization responsible for providing the website is often the author - especially when it's a government site, or a major organization like the American Psychological Association or the Canadian Diabetes Association.
  2. Title
    • You will likely need to find two titles: the name of the webpage you're using, and the name of the overall website that page falls under. My example below demonstrates this: the webpagename is "Bipolar disorder - what are the symptoms?" while the website name is Mind Your Mind. I will need both of these pieces of information for my citation.

How many credits are needed for a bachleors degree in journalism?

A bachelor's degree in most areas can require between 124 to 128 college credits particular to a specific program of study. This would be based on a college or university that operates on a regular two semester academic year which is the most common. For institutions that operate on a tri-semester or quarter-semester it would be quite different. That being said, the Bachelor's degree - in most cases - is designed as a four year program of study, provided the student is full-time and follows their chosen program of study as prescribed by the college or university, and also provided the individual does not require prerequisite or developmental coursework. The minimum credit load for a full-time student is no less than 12 credits per semester. However, to complete the degree within the four years, a credit load of approximately 15 to 18 credits is recommended. For individuals who work or who have other responsibilities that would prohibit them from attending full-time, completion of the degree may take twice as long. Still, some of this time can be cut down by attending summer sessions and/or interim sessions. In addition, the bachelors and associate degrees are referred to as undergraduate degrees while the Masters and Doctorate degrees referred to as graduate degrees.

Hurst and company New York publisher?

QUESTION: (answer below) I have a question about a book I have. The cover appears to be hand painted leather with flowers and titled Whittiers Poems. The title on the inside is POEMS

by John Greenleaf Whittier. It has a light brown leather cover. It does not appear to missing any pages. The publisher is New York Hurst & Company. There does not seem to be a copy-write date or publishing date other than the dates at the end of each poem. The first Poem is titled "Proem" followed by "Mogg Megone". I can list more of the table of contents if needed. The book is approximately 4 X 6 inches and contains 318 pages. Would you happen to know approximately when this book was published. END!!

ANSWER

I am responding about this ? and giving a little detail for an answer. If you look up New York Hurst and Co. you will find a little more information on this sized book. I think it is from around the early part of the 1900's. They amde a lucile issue book in that same size. it was for novelty. Gift purposes and to put on Parlor tables. I have the same sized book about 4 1/4" by 6" with no copyright date, and titles the Scarlet Letter. I can't seem to find out much more than this, but it would be nice to know it's worth.

Does journalism provide health insurance?

It may depending upon whether you are an employee of the publisher or freelance. The job is more likely to offer insurance benefits if you are an employee earning a salary or an houly wage, than if you are a freelancer (for example, paid by the article).

If insurance benefits are offered, you must be certain that the entity that is financially responsible for paying claims is a licensed insurer. There have been many well-publicized situations in the past when fake insurers have undertaken to provide health insurance plans. They seem appealing to employers because they tended to be less costly and would insure just about anyone. However, there was no licensed insurer behind the plan, they were scams, and many claims were left unpaid. You can check into the legitimacy of the insurer by contacting the state insurance department where the policy will be issued or where you will enroll.

What is the role of student towards the teacher?

The role of the students is also evolving in the second language classroom. Students are becoming more active in their role as learners and are playing a major part in many aspects of the Core French class.

One significant development is the amount of student input and decision-making that naturally occurs in the development of the unit. In the initial phase of a unit, students are asked for their input and the knowledge that they possess on a particular subject. It is this input phase that begins to motivate the students. Students are encouraged to make a number of decisions. They need to decide what vocabulary and structures are important for their activities and projects. The decisions that are made regarding the projects reflect the interests and strengths of the students. Although there are specific objectives and guidelines that need to be met in the second language classroom, students who are allowed some freedom to move within the parameters are more likely to remain motivated and on task.

The experiential goal at the end of the unit gives the students the opportunity to work toward their potential. The students become aware of this project in the early stages of the unit. They are then able to tailor their vocabulary, their activities and their thinking toward the final task. As the students realize that the work they do within the class leads them toward their final goal, they are much more inclined to stay on task. Students are able to personalize their projects and use their personal abilities and talents. Students with a strong French background may wish to expand on the oral or written aspect of the projects. Students with artistic or creative talents may wish to add an original dimension to the finished product. Students with a lesser degree of language skill will also be able to work toward their own potential. Students learn in different ways and at a different pace and their final projects will reflect these unique differences.

As students become more responsible for their own language learning, their success in the second language class increases. The work that students do in the Core French class takes on new meaning as the students work toward a final task. Student self-evaluation becomes more common as the students reflect on what they have learned, how they have learned and what they still need to learn.
