1995 Saturn SL won't start battery seems fine lights stero work fine but it won't turn over makes no noise but there is a small clicking behind the left part of the dashboard?

If it won't turn over then it may be a bad starter, a bad solenoid, or the power is being grounded before it gets to the starter (an exposed wire is touching the car) Is there any way for you to record it, whether with a sound recorder or phone. I may be able to further assist if its doing something distinct.

Where is the power steering reservoir on a 2000 Saturn SL1?

The power steering reservoir is on the passenger side behind the engine compartment.

My '95 Saturn SC1 makes a rapid clicking noise when I try to start it If I pop start it it'll run fine The battery and starter are good What else could cause this?

Either you have a poor electrical connection to your starter or the starter solenoid is going out and will not engage the starter gear to the flex plate/fly wheel on your motor.

Where is the IAT Sensor located in 2002 Saturn SL?

The 2002 Saturn IAT sensor can be found on the top of the engine. The IAT sensor will be near the injector fuel pump.

Will the valves be damaged when the timing chain breaks on a 2000 Saturn?

Yes.

The good news is, the timing chain seldom breaks; they aren't like the timing belts. You can typically just drive the vehicle until the engine is tired, then replace the timing chain, sprockets and tensioner slides while you're rebuilding the rest of the engine.

The bad news is, anything is possible and a timing chain CAN break.

The "L" series uses a timing belt for the V6 engine, but the 4 cylinder Saturn engines all use timing chains.

Where is the egr position sensor located on a 1999 Saturn sl1?

It's mounted to the head, just above the transmission "bell housing". The position sensor is connected to the EGR valve. It's the part of the assembly that has the electrical connections.

How do you remove door handle on 1998 Saturn sc2?

The OUTER door handle is held in place with two pins. Lift slightly on the handle and look under the two castings on the side. Note the pins that are holding the handle to the door operation mechanism. Push the pins out using a small rod then slide the handle off the mechanism.

How do you tighten the serpentine belt on your 1992 Lexus ES300?

Loosen the bolt right below the tensioner screw and then tighten. Once it is tight enough, tighten the bolt back down and your done. Hello' Unless you are talking about the timing belt, there is not serpentine belt on a Lexus ES300. The timing belts is the one that runs thru the two camshaft, the water pump and the crankshaft. This belt can easily be tighten just like the above user say, however, be very carefull with the tensionomer, cause it has a pressed shaft on it that coul be dangerous.

Can you convert a manual to an automatic?

YES, a lot easier than auto to manual.

changing the transmission is the easiest part then you have do all the laying in the floor board under the dash to get rid of the clutch pedal and that's not easy for a big guy in a little car, if your big take out the drivers side seat it's alot easier to manuver. Then change the linkage and shifter and maybe the ratio on the speedometer cable gear.oh ya you cross member may need a little adjustment

And don't forget to get a radiator with transmission cooling line connections.

The conversion is much more complex. 1:) the cross membre will not work from a manual. You will need one from an automatic because of its geometrical slope, You have to change the flywheel, add the torque converter and pretty much the backing plates as well as other hardware from "doner"

I just did the conversion, Toook the auto from my 1991, and put it in my 89

Where is the EGR valve located on a 1995 Saturn SL2 with DOHC engine and what does it look like?

Looking at the engine from the front of the car, the EGR valve is directly behind the valve cover (right side). It has a wiring harness connected to it with multiple wires. It sits straight down on the engine and is attached with two bolts. ( Note: the front of the valve cover is next to the upper engine mount)

How do you replace a tensioner pulley on a 1997 Chevy Lumina?

use a 3/8 drive ratchet to loosen the tension and take your belt off. Then unbolt the center bolt of the tension assembly and replace with a new unit.

How do you fix stuck seatbelt in 93 Saturn SL1?

We have the same thing. Slamming the door helps sometimes, but the mechanism is gummed up.

The only way to go is to replace the belt and the retractor.

Plus, the webbing will have lost half of it's strength since it was new (nylon) and really should be replaced every 8 years.

A set of two belts in black can be had for $80. If the all-black set is okay, "Replacements" brand "US-SBELT" is perfect.

If you want a better match, then they're $80 each, and you want "End Release" to match the style in the car. Side Release, and Chrome Latch are more common and less expensive (sometimes). Beams makes the proper matching set, and has an online website to order.

Loss of power brakes on 1995 Saturn SC1 DOHC?

"Power Brakes" are actually "vacuum assisted brakes", meaning that a vacuum diaphragm is used to provide additional force against the brake pedal as you attempt to stop your vehicle.

If the engine vacuum has decreased, through wear, timing issues or because of a vacuum leak, there will be considerably less of the vacuum assist available when you stop your vehicle.

First, check for a vacuum leak, and make certain that you include the vacuum assist module.

If there are no vacuum leaks, check the vacuum that the engine is creating; if that's not the problem then you may have a leaking or damaged master cylinder.

Replace timing belt Saturn 1996?

Not Applicable

The Saturn 4 cylinder, both the SOHC and DOHC used a chain, and it doesn't need to be replaced unless the engine has OTHER problems.

How do you turn off the Service Engine Soon light in a 1996 Saturn SL2?

There is no reset switch ... it's a warranty/mileage item in the memory module. When the light comes on, instead of taking the vehicle in for service, try diconnecting the battery for about five (5) minutes before reconnecting it. The light should go out. If it doesn't, then a technician needs to check your system. I've had to reset the light on my 2000 Grand Marquis 3 or 4 times already.

Suljer Virginia Beach, VA

If you disconect the battery for 15 seconds and that does not make it go out then you will have to take it to some who can reset your computer.

if you have an autozone close by they can read, reset/clear any codes you have on your ecm..

The '96 and newer, I believe, need an OBD II scan tool. Don't just jumper the ALDL under the dash or you'll blow your PCM. The SES light coming on is the PCM telling you there is a problem somewhere in the system, and you should get the code to see where it is. Fixing it will shut that light off, after resetting the PCM (disconnect battery for 15 seconds, or pull the PCM B fuse for same time and then replace).

this may be random but i had to post just in case (i own a 94 sl2) i had put an after market air filter on the car, and removed the IAT sensor on the snorkle, that made my "service engine soon" light come on, put the iat back on, light went away, AND this was during a period where i disconnected the battery every night so i do not believe the battery trick is gonna help you in a Saturn...unless you truly DONT have a car problem that needs to be fixed, but if you do, then that light is not going to go away until you remedy that problem.

Where is the driver side power window fuse located on a 1999 Saturn sc 2 and is there a diagram?

the fuse is in instrument fuse box remove the panel under the radio on the right side of the center console. Most likely the problem is not the fuse if other wqindows work as it's one fuse for all The switch in the console is most likely not making contact.(Very common problem) or the motor itself

Im looking to buy a 2002 Saturn 4 door sl 4 cylinder Saturn had problems with the timing chain breakinat how many miles should the timing chain be changed?

The 6 cylinder Saturns were equipped with the "Ecotec" engine, which used a timing belt. Timing belts fail over time, and Saturn recommends that the belt be replaced every 100,000 miles.

The 4 cylinder Saturns all used timing chains. With recommended service and normal use, the timing chain should not fail. It is recommended that you replace the timing chain and sprockets whenever the engine is rebuilt, but otherwise, the timing chain is considered to be quite reliable.

When to replace cataylic converter on 99 Saturn sc 2?

The life of your catalytic converter depends on the condition of the engine and the fuel you're using.

If the fuel has the wrong additives, the catalytic converter can become plugged up.

If the engine burns oil the oil vapor will build up on the catalytic converter and it can become plugged.

Otherwise, if the catalytic converter isn't plugged, don't replace it.

Why does your 2002 Saturn radio clock stay on?

If just the clock display is remaining on, it's not a problem and is probably deliberate. The LCD of the clock uses so little electrical energy that it is effectively not a drain on the battery AT ALL.

Note that LCD watches use a battery that is the size of a dime, and last over a year. The battery in your Saturn stores thousands of times more electrical energy than does the little watch battery.

On the other hand...

If the radio is staying on, you either have a problem with the keyswitch, or someone has wired the radio to a "hot" connection.

Will sodium silicate fix cracked head or block?

Sometimes. It depends on how large the crack is. There are much better sealers than liquid glass. Glass isn't used much any more and can be very hard to find. If you choose this type of "TEMPORARY" repair I would get one labeled "Block Sealer" as they seem to work best.

How can oil leak through the drivers side floor board of a 1999 saturs sl?

This may be your brake master cylinder leaking brake fluid through your brake booster into the passenger compartment. This is the only source of oil on the driver side of the car. It is likely that your master cylinder rear seal failed long ago and has been slowly filling the brake booster which is mounted to the firewall of the car above the brake pedal. I hope this helps
