i believe there may be a diagram under the hood, maybe on the fan shroud or on the underside of the hood itself, if not u can buy a manual from a auto parts supply and see the diagram good luck my friend

Your belt could fall off causing possible damage to altinator and any other belt driven devises. Fully drain your battery, belt could become too loose and not properly run everything, or possible everything could stay fine. I wouldn't bet on the latter though. Hope this helped.

if it is a 4 cyl. the adj. is located on the left side (fire wall side of the motor) just below the alternater.

I guess i dont know the answer.. Though i could do it in my sleep. Do you want the pulley pattern? if so, more info is needed. If you want to know how to get the tension loose. Turn the tensioner on the power steering.

The tensioner is between the alternator and the power steering pump. On the diagram, you'll see three pulleys at the top, with the belt going over the ones on the ends, and under the one in the middle. The one in the middle is indicating the tensioner.

Determine what is causing the problem, faulty belt tensioner, alternator water pump, a/c compressor, one or more of these components could cause the problem.

it's not difficult but a helper would come in handy. Find tension pulley nearest top of engine (will be smooth vs ribbed) if you have only 1 on that belt it should have a spring that allows movement. If more than one examine brackets to determine topmost one that is not fixed (looks like has a spring) ensure you have routing diagram or take photo before you remove. Find a socket that fits nut in center of pulley and use wrench with long handle. Orientation of belt will determine direction it (pulley) moves. If it moves right use wrench like you are tightening that nut and it will move against spring creating slack, meanwhile, your helper simply slips it off of uppermost accessory pulley or you can with the other hand but a little tricky. If pulley moves left you will have to use a breaker or long rod since the nut could loosen if you use it to pull in that direction. If the belt was squeeling and not just rotton you should replace tensioner at same time. The bearings do commonly go out

If it's a serpentine belt, all you have to do is put a socket on the tensioner pulley, rotate it counterclockwise, and that should give you the slack you need to remove the belt. You do the same thing installing the new belt, and refer to the belt diagram when routing the belt.

most modern lambda sensors have a heating element and relay which can drain the battery. To test, disconnect the sensor ,if found to be the cause buy new lambda sensor and check wiring.

You need an 8mm hex socket and a 12mm socket. Remove the belt 14mm socket on the tensioner...Then remove the 8mm and 12 mmm bolts and it comes off

It turned out to be quite simple. The tension pulley is spring loaded. Just put a wrench on the nut of the pulley shaft and you can move the pulley to relieve the tension (do not to loosen the nut) and slip the old belt off. Same procedure to install the new belt. Tension pulley is behind the radiator and a little left of center. Just remove the air intake duct above the radiator. Mine is a '97, but should be similar.

There are 2 bolts to loosen. #1 holds the pulley against the engine block. It is very hard to bust. Try a 1/2 inch socket driver and pipe cheat. #2 is under the engine block, attached to a long threaeded rod. This raises and lowers the pulley secured by bolt #1. Before you losen anything, mark with a white pen the position of the pulley against the block so you know how far to raise it once the new belt is on. LOwer the pully by turning bolt#2, remove the old belt, replace the belt, Re tighten bolt #2 so the pully is now at the white marks. Then re-tighten bolt #1 securing the pulley against the block. DO NOT TRY TO LOWER THE PULLY WITHOUT LOOSENING BOLT #1 FIRST. YOU WILL BREAK BOLT #2, DEADLINING YOUR VEHICLE!!!

It should be in your owners manual and if you don't have one you can get one from MOTORLIT/C0M. or you can go to a used car lot and find a car with a like engine and draw you a picture of how it is routed. On most vehicles the diagram is somewhere under the hood, either glued to the underside of the hood or with the safety notices. I'd start by looking there. There should be sticker under the hood or my best bet would be the owners manual 1st. choice! I have a 1991 Chevrolet Cavalier 2.2. 1st check for a diagram on the radiator shroud. 2nd check autozone.com they have some repair manuals on line. 3rd go to you local library and find the repair manual.

usually there is a sticker right inside the frame of the car near the hinge of the hood.

Easiest way i know of is to take the alternator bolt off and the belt will fall of then re line the belt and put the alternator back on using a pry bar against the strut mounts or have a friend pull it into place while you slide the bolt in
