Okay, crank it. No start...are you getting fuel? If so, check for spark. If you are getting spark and fuel, check to see if your timing is correct. After that, I'm really not sure...if you are getting gas and spark, then the thing should fire up.

Unless there is an access panel above the fuel tank inside the vehicle you must remove the fuel tank.

Actually there is an access panel.

The fuel pump is located in the tank. You will need Pliers, a Phillips screw driver, a 14m and 13/16 wrench. Remove the back seat. Pry off access cover and you will see the top of the tank. Disconnect the 3 lines that go to the fuel pump. Remove 8 Phillips screws, and carefully pull out fuel pump assembly. Remove and replace strainer and pump. Reverse procedure for installation. NOTE: you will need silicone to reseal access cover. NOTE: Procedure was done on a 1995 Tercel, 1996 should be the same.

Looking into the engine bay, it's on the right side of the engine. It's got about a 1/2" line coming out of that goes into the intake. This needs Improvement- 04wilsonm

may need to add refrigerant, system is equipped with a low pressure switch to keep the compressor from running when the pressure is too low. put a guage on the system to check the pressure. when the system is low the the compressor will kick on an off until the pressure is too low for it to run at all. this system runs on 134a refridgerant. you can go to the auto parts store and buy a can of 134a refrigerant with a basic guage which will tell you if the pressure is too low. this is cheaper than taking it to the repair shop. if the pressure is low however, this means the system has a leak. if the leak is large it may still require a repair. also check the condensor and the radiator to make sure they are clean . if they are not clean take the car to the car wash or use a hose with some pressure to clean out the bugs leaves and general all around dirt. you can also buy dyes or refridgerant with dyes in them for leak detection.

Disconnecting the brake light switch requires crawling under the steering column of a vehicle. The brake switch is placed behind the brake pedal and the clip for the switch will be on top. Simply unplug it.

I looked everywhere in the engine compartment, did not find anywhere to check the level of fluid, much less where a power steering pump was! Does that year model even have one?

Because one of your door sensors are broken.

Whenever they are warped, damaged or worn down to the minimum limit. Your local auto parts store can measure your rotors if you bring them in off the car.

i had the same problem. i have a two door 97 Toyota tercel with auto transmission. it was a fuse for the ful injector. there was an extra one in the black fuse box under the hood. try this

attached to the side of the fuse box under the drivers side dash. has 1 large black/red wire, two smaller black/red wires, a light blue and a green wire, the green and blue have stripes too just dont remember what color.

Unscrew the screw that attaches it to the headlight. Pop it out. Twist bulb so it comes out.

In common cases its either bad strutts or it needs an alignment Or if you are driving and it vibrates more during certain speeds then you may have to get your tires balanced. Any tire shops in your area will have this ability. It is usually inexpensive from 10 bucks a tire to 20 depending on where you shop. Donkey

Bad idea, replace both spark plugs and wires, using Toyota parts, will increase fuel milage and reliabilty..

your best bet is calling your local auto part store and asking them... the only reason i posted this little responce was to delete the one that was on here... some guy telling us to go to some pokiemon site...

Depending on what year, make and model you have, your local auto parts store can sell you pin and bushing kits to rebuild the door hinges. More than likely this is the reason the door has dropped.

OK..I own a 95 Tercel and had that same problem. I found out that between the brake pedal is a piece of rubber that prevents the two metal parts from touching. If that rubber breaks or is missing then the brake lights remain on. I just used some crazy glue and glued a penny where the rubber was. That worked perfect. Now that's my one cent on that.

check to see about it being about having something to do with your head gasket.might need new one .

It may be a neat little thing called "vapor lock". This can be easily remedied by simply removing the gas cap and letting some air in. If this doesn't work take it to a mechanic.

take off the wheel. unbolt the 2 lower strunt bolts, to swing the brake assembly out, pull that end of the axel out, then give the axel a good pull out and it should pop out of the transmission.

As you are standing in front of the car looking down at the engine, starter is on right hand side of engine. Disconnect battery first. Disconnect wires from starter, undo starter bolts, remove starter. Starter and solenoid all come off in one piece, starter will only come off and go back on one way. Tercel starters are a gear reduction type starteer and are pretty reliable, what usually goes wrong with them is the conact points inside the solenoid, which are replaceable. Do you have a automotive electrical rebuild shop in your town? They would have parts. If you are up for the task of taking your starter apart yourself this is a easy fix. I have over 200,000 miles on our 84 tercel with only one starter fix.

Start with the easy stuff. Are you using 5w30 oil if you live in a cold place. How long since you changed oil and filter ( older oil is heavier thus harder to pump ) How are your battery and post clean all and corosion. Then check voltage with a DVOM should be around 12.6. Remove one spark plug and check if its it if old replace all of them. At night open the hood and spray water over distributor cap and spark plugs wire , check if you see any electricity jumping this would mean replacement is needed ( having good spark helps ) How long since you changed fuel and air filter ( having plenty of fuel and air reach the engine also helps ) After the easy stuff is checked I would recommend testing the alternator , doing a battery load test , cheking the oil pump , the cold start injector/valve , vacuum leak etc... Disconnect battery cables
Make a mixture or baking soda and water
Use a toothbrush or other to brush on and around cables and battery terminals
Rinse well with water USE EYE PROTECTION

pull the center cap off, pull out the cotter pin, unscrew the bolt. work the drum off ( may take some prying ) and then all the drum internals will be exposed.

you cannot adjust the ignition timing on this car. a manual will help if you need to set cam timing
