there isn't a radiator in a vw passat. Vw's in general don't have radiators.

Usually you can find a round container, shaped like a ball, with a black cap under the hood near the windshield washer container. It should be about half full of greenish antifreeze. To fill, simply unscrew the black cap when the engine is cold and add your antifreeze up to the full mark, it is hard to see, but half full is where the full mark is (at the seam). The antifreeze needs room to expand when it gets hot so dont fill it to the top. The hose on the bottom of that container goes to the engine and then to the radiator. NEVER take the cap off when the engine is hot. It could explode in your face. This works for all Golfs, New Beetles and Passats. And yes they all have radiators. KGP 484

The blow-off valve should not be confused with a waste-gate. The waste-gate is a device that by-passes the turbine wheel of the turbocharger, limiting the shaft-speed of the turbocharger. Therefore, limiting the boost (pressure) that the compressor generates and keeping the turbocharger from over-speeding. A blow-off valve is mounted in the intake plumbing between the turbocharger compressor and the throttle plate. The blow-off valve is a second safety measure against the turbocharger over-boosting and damaging the engine. The blow-off valve is more commonly used to keep the turbocharger spinning when the throttle plate is suddenly closed. When the turbocharger is generating maximum boost pressure at full throttle and then the throttle is suddenly closed, compressed air coming from the compressor slams against the throttle, generating extremely high pressures that travel backwards to the compressor stopping the compressor from spinning. When the throttle plate is again opened, the engine must spool the turbocharger shaft again. The effects of this high pressure can also be very damaging to the turbocharger.

You need to pull back the inner fender cover on the rear of the pass front wheel. There are 3 or 4 screws to remove and a couple plastic clips. If you are careful you can pop it off (and later onto) the plastic clips. You will not need to remove the entire inner fender cover, just part of it. It is pliable and strong so you can muscle it out of the way. Hope this helps.

With the hood open, simply pull the weatherstrip from the front of the cowl, and then remove the entire plastic cowl cover. You will see it on the upper left side.

You need to replace the turn signal relay. It should be right next to the hazard (emergency) relay. Turn on the hazards and follow the clicking sound under the driver side dashboard. Once you've located it, if you touch it you can feel the hazard relay working. The other relay is for the turn signal. It's a small round canister. It's just a matter of removing and replacing.

I had the same problem with my 97 Accord. My hazards worked, but the turn signals did not. I thought it was actuallly the signal arm. In the end, it had nothing to do with the signal relay, arm, or bulbs. I just changed a fuse located in the fuse box next to my brake pedal (it was bruned out) and it worked. I don't know what kind of car you have, but if it's a Honda this is probably the problem.

1.-You need two keys, if you only have one key then you can go to the dealership and pay close to $20 for one with the Volkswagen logo or less than $2 for a generic one.

2.-Take the control remote that you want to program (I have three controls in total). With one of the keys turn the car on without turning the engine on, just so the radio works.

3.-Then, introduce the second key in the driver's door and turn it all the way to the LEFT and hold it there until there are two beeps (about 10 seconds.)

4.-Then press a button on the remote control, press any of the buttons or keys.

To test the remote remember to remove the key in the ignition key.

I had the other two remotes in my pocket and they were all programmed at the same time. Also, one of the toggle keys in one of my remotes was not working, so I opened it and saw that the button to open the trunk was broken off, so I soldered it to the board and now it is like new.

I feel that is very fair business practice that if I buy a remote from the dealership the programming would be included, and that if I take my control to them to be reprogrammed they would do it for free with the hope that I will gain trust on their fairness and come back to do my work with them. Right now I will avoid their service unless absolutely necessary, and will share my experience with all my e-mail and Facebook contacts.

So the moral of my story . . . is to be wary of the mechanical services at the dealership.

On a 2001 Ford Windstar the check engine light looks like a picture of an engine

Oil pressure light has almost nothing to do with with the amount of oil in the crankcase. Oil pressure is affected by just a couple things, does the oil pump work, is the pickup screen blocked, have the main and/or rod bearings worn out and does the pressure bypass still work? Rod and main bearings are quite simple, they consist of a hardened crankshaft with carefully turned and polished contact surfaces and rod and main bearings which fit tightly to the crankshaft with no more than two thousandths of an inch clearance when the bearings are new. The contact surface of the bearing is made of a very soft metal called "babbit". Oil pressur keeps the babbit bearing surface from actually coming in contact with the crankshaft surface. If the babbit has worn and the bearing surface has worn to the point that the clearance has significantly increased, the oil will leak past the bearings and the pump will not be able to pump enough oil volume to keep the pressure up. In short, low oil pressure is one of the main indicators that an engine is worn out.

1) Remove plast cover on the side of the door

2) Use pick tool to pull out half moon shaped plastic clip (until it clicks)

3) Wiggle the lock cylinder out of place

4) Pull out door handle

You would use 10W-40 Not just any 10W-40 will do it must meet the following Performance specifications:
API SG, SL/CF; JASO MA/MA-2; API GL-1

open up the boot and ten take out all carpet that is lying on the floor of the boot .then get a cross -head arewdriver and take out the srews out of the back of the light .as you are doing this you should also hold on to the rear brake lights as well .then go to your local garge and get areplaement kit from the make sure there red bulbs not white .the srew in new blubs and replace rear brake light cover and tighten with srew driver.

There are no removal holes - therefore the outer casing of the dash needs to be removed so that you can access the 4 tork screws at the sides of the radio. If yiou feel under the radio the dash is separate from the dash panel below. But I think starting here will lead to a broken dash panel. I think the coin trays above have to come out and underneath them there will be two tork or spax screws to get things started.

If am still searching for a way in - but I do know the dash cover has to come off because the radio is screwed in.

WRONG! There are four removal holes... Two at the Top, Two at the bottom. (Each corner) You have to go to a dealership or local audio store to get the radio removal tool. They are the size of a house key with a 'finger' ring on the end, and a very thin blade that has directional slots to 'unlock it' from the dash piece...' Be very careful when inserting the keys, you can wedge the clips that hold the radio in making it more difficult to remove...

It only uses more fuel if you floor it all the time. Generally a chip will increase the engine ignition timing as well and actually get better fuel mileage. My Passat gained 2 miles per gallon when cruising with the new programming.
