How do you program the remote control key fob for cars?

For the faint of heart with money: Take it to a dealer. For those with a sense of adventure and do-it-yourself'ers :There are many web sites with procedures listing how to program a remote control for many vehicles. Ther are some manufacturers that do not allow it without special equipment. For the majority, you can find the instructions. Search on: Make, Model, Year with the words "program remote control". A little searching and you should find it.Here are some notes from the web:

NOTE: There is nearly ALWAYS separate programming for keys & remotes, even if they are one unit. One Exception is newer Chrysler all in one units which are programmed as one unit. These can not be self programmed.

All SMART keyless for remotes - Nissan - Lexus - Toyota - Hyundai - All can NOT be self programmed.

Dodge & Chrysler Products - Many require one existing & working remote to program additional units.

If you have no working unit, then special equipment is required to get these done.

There is no "Other" programming available to help you if you have NO existing remote.

Chrysler Crossfire - can NOT be self done - key or remote.

1997 1998 1999 Dakota & Durango - No programming Available.

Dodge Charger - NO self programabilty on board.

All Chrysler combo units, meaning key and remote in one, can NOT be self programmed.

Ford - Nearly ALL KEY programming requires 2 working keys. If you have just one key, You will NOT be able to program additional keys on your own. Nearly ALL Ford Remotes CAN be self programmed. Fords are generally the easiest of all to program.

GM - HHR, Colorado, Cobalt, SSR, Uplander, Canyon, and 2001 & newer Malibu & Malibu Max. These require special equipment for programming. Circle Plus Keys CAN be self programmed.

Some GM Products have a split year whereby part a year may be programmable,

and part may not. There can also be two or more different remotes for some models in the same year.

Land Rover - Nearly ALL require special equipment for programming

Lincoln - LS Model - Some years may require special equipment for programming

We definitely DO have 2003 to 2006 AVAILABLE for self programming.

Another case of a lot of hogwash flying around. Some need a code, others DO NOT.

However, some dealers will tell you differently as they do not want to let you off cheap

How do you change a brake light switch on a 83 Chevy pickup?

Under the dash, near the top of the brake pedal arm, you will see the switch. Unplug the wiring from the switch. Unscrew the switch from the arm. The body of the switch is threaded. Screw the new switch in to the arm. Unhook the wiring, and check to see if lights are working correctly. The switch can be adjusted by unplugging wiring, and turning the switch in, or out to adjust when the lights come on, as to pedal movement.

How do you tighten the power steering pump belt on a 92 Mazda Protege?

The power steering pump is held in place by two bolts one is accessed on the top of the pump body using either an offset wrench or a socket(requires lining up the holes on the pulley with the top bolt). The second bolt is on the bottom of the pump and is actually part of the adjusting mechanism (best reached from underneath the car). There is a bolt on the front of the pump (kind of closer to the radiator) that is the actual adjuster. Loosen the two mounting bolts (do not remove all the way) and tighten or loosen the bolt on front until there is only a quarter inch slack in the belt. Once the proper tension has been placed on the belt tighten the two mounting bolts and you're done.

What is the value of a 1958 Chevy apache pickup?

Depends on many factors and the most important is condition of the vehicle. Also depends if it is a 6 cylinder or a V8, 4WD or 2WD, A/C or no A/C, A/T or Manual & color. Many things determine value but the most important is condition. Value can be from $1,000 to $50,000. Only you know the condition and the options. Even after you have an estimate of the value, the real value is what someone will pay. Click the link for an estimate.

Location of air intake temperature AIT sensor 1998 Ford Taurus?

it is not an AIT sensor, i believe it is a MAF - Mass air flow sensor, which is located in between the air filter box and the throttle body, it is the only plug between. it is either 2 Phillips or 2 torx bits to remove, along with a plug..

The 1991 Camaro's did not use MAF (Mass Air Flow) in 1988 or 1989 they were changed over to MAP or (Manifold Absolute Pressure) insted. They do however have a AIT sensor. The Z28 models with the Tunded Port Injection motors 305, or 350 both have a AIT that looks almost identical to a Coolant temp sensor. It sits under the intake towards the front. If you have a RS model with the Throttle Body V8 305, then it is located inside the air clener housing on top of the motor. Remove the round lid, and you will see a small bird cage shape dome on the bottom of the air cleaner. it has a retainer ring holding the AIT on, remove it, and it will drop out the bottom of the air cleaner. The V6 model camaro's have the same style AIT but they are threated into the air cleaner box either on the front near the hood latch, or on the passanger side behind the headlight depending on witch style air cleaner, It changed over the years. Will be the only wire coming out of the air cleaner box on the V6 models for this year.

How do you remove ignition cylinder from 1988 Chevy pickup?

Remove the steering wheel. (you will need a steering wheel puller) Remove the turn signal switch. It is not necessary to completely remove the switch from the column. Pull the switch rearward far enough to slip it over the end of the shaft, but do not pull the harness out of the column. Turn the lock to Run. If necessary, remove the ignition key. If equipped, remove the buzzer switch assembly. Remove the lock retaining screw and remove the lock cylinder.

Where is the reverse signal input on a 1999 Monte Carlo so you can install an AVH-P6400 entertainment system?

The '99 Monte Carlo doesn't have a reverse signal input. I'm guessing you're referring to the stock radio. The most the radio has is an auxillary output for the optional 10 or 12 disc CD changer.

How do you hook up a starter button in a 1980 Datsun 210?

I'm somewhat confused by your use of the term "starter button". I assume you're referring to hooking up a remote starter allowing you to spin the engine while you're working under the hood. First make sure that the vehicle is in either park or neutral. Second, make sure that the ignition switch is in the "off" position. Locate the starter solenoid which is atop the starter assembly. Disconnect the trigger wire at it's spade terminal. The wire will most likely be yellow in color. Connect one end of your remote starter button at this terminal on the starter and the other end to the positive battery post.
