Air Compressors

After the belt is off and the electrical connector is disconnected, from underneath the vehicle, disconnect the two a/c lines. Then simply unbolt the rear compressor mount,and the front bracket bolts and lower from the vehicle. When installing new one, you must add exact ammount of refrigerant oil and basically reverse the removal procedure.

The compressor is simple to remove assuming there is no more freon left in your system If this is not the fact, you will need to have the freon vacummed out, and this can only be done at a repair shop. As far as I know it is against the law to bleed Freon out into the air. to remove the compressor, first you need to remove tension on the serpentine belt by turning the belt tensioner. once the belt is off, you can unplug the electrical sensor. the compressor is held into the bracket by a number of bolts. on the pully side all the bolts are 13mm. there are 3 of them. on the back of the compressor there are 3 more bolts, these bolts being 10mm in size. remove the A/C lines and pull the compressor out of its bracket.

Flow rate times pressure divided by input will yield air compressor capacity. Input is another term for horsepower of the compressor. The pressure can be adjusted depending on how compact the result is to be.

RAMJET ENGINE

Air compressor filters are on the intake side of the compressor motor to filter the air as it is brought in. Dryers are collection points that are drained daily as the compressor is hot when operating and moisture develops in the tank. Should drain the tank daily after use and the dryer should be installed in line before the gun.

Simply put; you cant. It would require quite a bit of engineering and material to make it happen, and would be more cost effective to simply buy a 3 stage compressor. You can however set up a fitting in place of your high-pressure regulator that fits your compressor to directly run your marker from it, if you have a low-pressure marker... If you dont have at least an intake filter, and preferably a dryer on your compressor, DONT DO IT! (you'll short your solenoid)

If engine is not reaching operating temperature, then replace your thermostat. If the engine is getting hot, feel both heater hoses ( passenger side they go thru the firewall) they should both be hot, if only one is hot, your heater core is probably plugged and should be flushed. there is a switch in the back cargo area usually the right (driver) side remove the plastic panel and you will see a trigger switch with on and off positions which controls the air suspension

If you have a problem with it you might need to replace the compressor there is a really good company that sells Harley Davidson stuff (Arnott Corp - best agent there is Morris), but they also sell that compressor for the least expensive price around $170 through Amazon. com and it is an easy install.

When you have the heat on and select defrost / demist position to clear your windows , the air conditioning compressor cycles on and off to help de-humidify the air - at least that's the way it is on my 1995.

What is it going to go in? To install a compressor you need to know what type u want to use. What refrigerant, well not really its all r134a for cars, trucks now days. But u need an evaporator, condenser, receiver, dryer, line set, depending on what vehicle, never mind. I could go on and on but need more information from you

Nothing if the compressor bearings are good. Just unplug the wires at the compressor or pull the fuse. If the compressor is locked up or the bearings are shot, then you need to purchase a belt for a 1997 Pontiac Sunfire that came from the factory without A/C. Install the belt, bypassing the compressor, and just leave the compressor alone.

Low on freon, faulty pressure switch, faulty clutch. Jumper the low pressure switch with a paperclip (can running, AC on), if the clutch cycles, it's either low on freon, or the low pressure switch is bad.

If you mean the AC compressor then it will be one of the components located along the routed drive belt. It will have metal cooling lines going in and out of it. The steering pump will have lines going to it also but these lines will go to a resivoir (where you would add fluid to it) and the cooling lines dont. I hope this helps you.Brad.

How do you know it is surging? The most common cause for a jump in idle speed while the AC is running is when the cooling fan cycles on and puts a draw on the alternator.

I have a 1998 navigator. I had this issue several times. If one of the air shocks develops a leak, or one of the air lines, it can be very expensive to troubleshoot. The Lincoln uses a dry air pump, so if you have a leak, the pump is most likely burned up and will have to be changed also. Each time my pump had to be replaced, it costs $700-$1000 to have it changed. After doing this four times, I decided to change the system to a conventional hydraulic system. The ride is a little stiffer, but I'll never have that low-rider air shock problem again. I installed the conversion myself in one afternoon, with simple shop tools. You will need a good floor jack. It's almost certainly low refrigerant. When the compressor turns on the low pressure side is evacuated, resulting in refrigerant pressure that is low enough to turn off the low pressure switch. As soon as the refrigerant leaks back through from the high side to the low side, the pressure goes up enough to trip the low pressure switch back on, allowing the compressor to run briefly. Just add some refrigerant and you will solve the problem. Most auto parts retail stores will sell you a kit that lets you add a little refrigerant. Add a can to your AC and see how it runs. Use a gauge to add enough for the system to operate at it's optimal level.

Likely your system has a leak and the compressor can't keep up with the volume of the leak.

Agree. The air bags in the suspension of ours had developed small holes, and the compressor could not keep up. Get that fixed before the compressor burns out.

Passenger side wheel well. You have to take the wheel off, wheel well shroud, and to the right you will see the compressor.

remove air filter then unscrew it and it is right underneath that you might have to take the window washer fluid container off too

Unless you have the proper tools and expertise, this is not a DIY job. And the fact that you ask the question shows you do not have the expertise. Take it to a professional.
