At most Toyota dealerships, this will run about $300.00 parts and labor. Of course, this is dependent on several factors such as hourly labor rate, what the dealership's parts mark-up is and other factors. Other factors would be if you were electing to replace the water pump while they were doing the belt, which is a very good idea and replacing the ancilliary drive belts. I would recommend having the dealer do it as there is just too much for a amatuer mechanic to get into trouble withon this job. A 1999 Rav4 does not have a timing belt, it has a timing chain only, do not change this chain unless it start's to act up...I had a rav4 with 268,000 miles and never had a problem with the timing chain, dont worry about preventative maintenance on this one..

I don't know how long ago you asked this question, but the answer should be yes, you can use the '92 head for your '89 engine, but you need to check a few things first. First, visit your favorite auto parts store and see if the gaskets are the same. Keep in mind that a '92 head gasket kit may be different from an '89 kit, due to fuel injection vs. carburated engines, so check individual gaskets instead. While you're there, see if the camshafts are the same part number. Make sure the '92 head was made for a fuel pump. There should be a cover plate with two bolts that you'll need to remove to install your original fuel pump. If you are going to use the '92 camshaft, check that the cam has the extra lobe to operate the mechanical fuel pump. You'll need to use your original distributor, and also check the camshaft timing pulleys for similarities. That should be all you need to do.

The answer is yes. A crack in a manifold is much worse than just the oil leak. Manifold cracks are generally caused by severe overheating or improper assembly of parts. A crack in a manifold can cause oil to leak but the oil leak is inconsequential as the crack renders the engine unusable safely, without replacing the manifold. Running an engine with a cracked manifold is very bad for the rest of the engine and your own safety.

The air filter is in the air stream to your throttle valve assembly and intake manifold. Its found in a compartment in an air duct to the throttle valve assembly under the hood of your car.

Sounds like a separate problem. May be the selinoid on the starter hanging up.

The actual part ( the manifold gasket set ) runs about 80-100 dollars ( i called around got some quotes from Napa , Oriley...etc. ) but the main cost comes from labor, and there is a lot of it! You basically have to take the engine apart to get to the lower one. Overall, ( and i jsut had mine changed out two weeks ago ) the cost is around 700 dollars at a Chevy dealership. I have seen prices near and above $1000 from other smaller auto shops.

No reason to if the intake gasket is the only problem you have.

If engine was running smooth and was not overheated then there is no reason to fool with the HEAD gaskets

There are 10 bolts holding the intake manifold onto the engine block. Five on the back and five on the front. If you letter the bolts A through J from left to right, rear side then front, you get the tightening sequence below. Tighten bolts in the number sequence shown. A-7, B-3, C-1, D-5, E-9 F-8, G-4, H-2, I-6, J-10 Torque bolts to 88 in-lbs, making two passes in sequence.

A manifold leak is usually in reference to a failure of the intake manifold gasket. It can leak air, oil or coolant. It can leak to the outside of the engine or internally into the engine. A manifold leak may also refer to the Exhaust manifold that is leaking exhaust fumes from a bad gasket or a crack in the manifold.

You can either buy filter cleaner or use gas, either way they will both clean the filter. You will need a 5 gallon bucket or a large plastic bag. It is best to clean several filters at once, because it is a dirty job. Fill the bucket with a little bit of gas or cleaner and place the filters in. Soak the filter in the cleaner for about five mins. Then carefully squeeze the excess liquid and dirt from the filter. Be careful not to tear the filter. Repeat if necessary. Allow the filter(s) to dry then soak them with filter oil. A good air filter should last through several cleanings.

The oil should be changed when the engine is warm so that the oil will drain thoroughly from the engine. The procedure is as follows: 1. Place the motorbike on the side stand. 2. Remove the ten screws and three fasteners holding the fairing in place. 3. Remove the right side fairing. 5. Place a drain pan under the drain plug. 6. Remove the oil filler cap. 7. Remove the drain plug with a wrench and drain out the engine oil. 8. When engine is empty, reinstall the drain plug and gasket. Tighten the plug securely with a wrench. 9. Turn the oil filter counterclock-wise and remove it with a "cap type" oil filter wrench or a "strap type" filter wrench of proper size. 10. Wipe off the mounting surface on the engine where the new filter will be seated with a clean rag. 11. Smear a little oil around the rubber gasket of the new oil fliter. 12. Screw the new filter by hand until the filter gasket contacts the mounting surface (a small resistance will be felt). 13. Mark the top dead center of the oil filter. Use an oil filter wrench to tighten the filter 2 turns. 14. Pour 3100ml (3.3/2.7 US/Imp. qt) of new engine oil through the filler hole and install the filler cap. 15. With the engine running, look carefully for leaks around the oil filter and drain plug. Run the engine at various speeds for 2 to 3 minutes. 16. Stop the engine and wait for a few minutes. Check the oil level again. Engine oil level can be inspected through the inspection window while holding the motorbike vertically. If the oil level is lower than the "F" line, add new oil until it reaches the "F" line. Check for leaks again. CAPACITIES: Without filter change..............2800 ml (3.3/2.7 US/Imp. qt) With filter change....................3100ml (3.3/2.7 US/Imp. qt) NOTE: If you do not have the proper oil filter wrench, have your Suzuki dealer perform this service.

If it isn't showing any codes (check the computer using a code scanner) I'd be suspicious of air and/or fuel filter.

Some say 25 ft/lbs. others say 45 ft/lbs. Either is fine, just try to get them all the same.

I own both a 2003 4Runner and a 2008 Tundra, both have the cabin air filter located behind the glove box. My 4Runner owners manual gave examples on how to change it. It's easy.

I also got instructions on how to change it with a new cabin air filter that I bought at an auto parts store. ($29)

All I had to do was: (Open glove box)

1. Remove the catch on the right side of the glove box.

2. Squeeze in the sides of the glove box to bypass the catch on each side. let it open all the way.

3. Behind the glove box you will find a long trapdoor release the catches and pull it out. The filter is inside.

the engine air filter involves loosening the air tube off the air filter box and unscrewing the air filter box cover. It will take a bit of tugging. To change the cabin filter, you must release the left and right holders for the glove box. This can be done with a screwdriver by twisting the one side, and prying the bit on the other side. Once the glove box flops down, you can see the cabin filter right there. With a bit more prying and tugging, the old part will be out.

as you are looking under the hood, it is located in the back right side of the engine compartment. it is under a large black plastic cover that is hinged on one side and has two clips located next to the fender wall.

I own both a 2008 tundra and a 2003 4Runner. Both of them have a cabin filter behind the glove box. Remove the glove box door and you will find it.
