Hi everyone after much research on the net and very little results, i went to the wreckers and finally worked out how to remove the rear bumper from the Toyota tarago/previa

This is how you remove a rear bumper from 1990-2000 Toyota tarago or previas and maybe even the 2001-2013 models.

There are two upper 10mm corner bolts under the mud guards or wheel arches that secure the ends of the upper corner bumper onto the body, remove the left and right one and store bolts in a container to reattach.

Next there are two 10mm bolts on the lower corner of the bumper connected to a rail that is secured to the bottom of the floor pan of the van, remove the left and right one and store in your container (please note sometimes the 10mm rail bolts are difficult to remove, so remove the 12mm bolts that are connected from the rail to the floor pan instead.

Some taragos/previas have a bull bar with a tow bar attached and some models may not, the bull bar is attached to brackets by 6 X 18 mm bolts 3 x 18 on the left and 3 X 18mm bolts on the right and the brackets are secured to the floor pan by 6 X 14mm bolts 2 X 14mm bolts on the left and 2 x 14mm bolts on the right are secured to the floor pan and 2 x 14mm bolts are secured to the reinforcement bar which the plastic bumper is attached too.

If you have a bull bar attached to the brackets, it is recommended that you remove these 6 X 18mm bolts securing your bull bar to the brackets first, because if you remove the 6 X 14mm bracket bolts with the bull bar still attached you may injure your self when the bull bar drops down with the brackets.

These are the last 6 X 14mm bolts that have to be removed, 4 x 14mm bolts secure the 2 brackets to the floor pan, 2 X 14mm bolts are on the left and 2 X 14mm bolts are on the right, the last 2 X 14mm bolts are secured to the reinforcement bar, they are the last 2 bolts to be removed, and then the plastic bumper which is attached to the reinforcement bar will simply slide out towards you as you pull on it, then you can remove the plastic bumper from the reinforcement bar.

Dont forget the trailer plug is also attached to the bull bar or tow bar and will have to be removed or cut and reattached.

Once the reinforcement bar with the plastic bumper is out, you will be able to access the lower bumpers 2 X 10mm center bolts and 2 X 12mm corner lower bumper bolts and then the 6 x 10mm upper bumper bolts, two of the bolts you couldn't see or access when you were desperately trying to find them and keep wondering why the bumper wouldn't come off.

Finally store the foam between the bumper and reinforcement bar in a secure place and try not to forget them once your ready to reassemble everything like i did.

All of the body parts are interchangeable from 1998 to 2003. The body style changed in 2004. Hope this helps

Behind / under the rear bumper there you will see 4 bolts on each side of the bumper. Have someone help you hold it while you remove the bolts. the installation is the reverse of removal.

$1000 I know this because I just got 2 quotes for it. Try to see if it can be REPAIRED instead by a professional bumper repair place-it will probably then cost half as much!

Yes but you require the front bumper brackets, and lower valance, signal lights and brackets. I have done it, can use 1976 hood with it also . 1977 and later hoods are flat and will not allow bumper to fit correctly

- Remove 3 screws in each rear wheel well (6 total). To get to bottom screw, take off wheel or lift car and use stubby screwdriver.

- Remove 2 screws in the rear hatch, 1 on each side. Must have the trunk door open to get to them.

- Pull out 4 plastic pins from along the bottom side of the bumper.

You can remove the bumper cover without removing the wheels. We used an offset screw driver (shaped like letter "Z"). It can be bought at any hardware store.

I done it myself two months ago. First you take off the screws from the inside of the hood and take off the screws to the lights. remove the lights to take off the front top portion of the bumper and then under wheel wells there are 3-4 screws and under the front of the car there are about 12 screws. It helps to keep the screws lined up in the order you took them off so you'll remember how to get it back on. it took me a few hours but I did it myself!

Fukk that! 450.oo? ...Sheep! I saved more than I thought doing it myself. You must take off the front bumper, which requires loosening the two front fenders, IT"S EASY!!! Then you drop the a/c condenser, may require disconnecting of some a/c components if you have the a/c still in the car, I don't. Then Drain the radiator at the engine block...which is second bolt from the front, driver side on the block, and the drainCOK twist at the bottom of the radiator. After all that disconnect the upper and lower hoses, unbolt the radiator at the top by the air filter, and you're home free! Just drop that Nickel bast ard out. PS. Buy aftermarket at a local radiator shop or it will cost you about $700.oo

This is a good "do it yourself" job, you can pay for someone to buy and resell you the bumper, install, and repaint it. Or you can buy a new one yourself or buy a used one from a salvage yard, install it and repaint it. You could be looking at a few hundred doallrs or a few thousand dollars.

My wife bumped into my car with hers and put a dent in her 2008 Camry bumper. I had to take off the bumper to pop out the dent - here is how i did it:

First, I started in the passenger side rear wheel well. There is a screw at the bottom and just unscrew it.

After that, there is another screw holding on that side of the bumper. If you look at the line that separates the bumper cowling with the frame, there is another screw about three inches from the wheel well along that line.

To get to it, you can feel for an opening under it that feels like you are sticking your finger into a test tube. Unscrew that screw and you are finished with that side of the car.

Once I unscrewed those two screws, I was able to pull that side of the bumper cover off. If you look under the very back of the car, you will notice some more screws that hold on the bumper, including one of those plastic pieces that too many cars use these days. Since my wife only bumped the passenger rear, I only disassembled the right side of the bumper, popped the bump out and reattached that side of it. I figure you could just repeat the process with the driver side and then see where the other attach points are by gently tugging on the bumper. I do not know how to take out those little plastic plugs and be able to reuse them - that is why I didn't go farther than I did. I hope this helps a little.

first you need to take the headlights off. you also need to unclip the wheel arch liner. there are three bolts holding the bumper to the front wing. you need a ratchet socket because its hard to manoeuvre a spanner in the space.once you undo the bolts the bumper will just fall off

500 for super high quality maybe, but just for a basic paint job you are looking at $150 - $300 that should include little repairs

These jeeps have a metal plate, and then a rubber bumper cover is bolted onto the plate. There are two bolts on either side of the bumper cover (on the inside of the bumper cover). Taking the cover off requires a ratchet. Taking the plate off requires a bit more work, as there are more bolts to contend with, as well as the skid plate, etc.

(1993 Pathfinder XE) First start by taking the front bumper ends off (3 nuts on each). Then remove the entire fog light assembly including the plastic trim surrounding it. Then there will be 4 nuts on each side (8 total) in a square pattern. Remove the bolts and pull.

The only thing holding the bumper on is a bunch of screws. Remove the plastic panel at the inside rear of the trunk (around the trunk lock hook). It is secured with a bunch of removable plastic clips. Remove some of the trunk lining carpet-like stuff. Search for a bunch of bronze-colored screws connecting to the bumper (you meay need a socket set). If I remember correctly, there are a couple of screws that you need to access from under the bumper itself as well. Just search with a flashlight. Make sure you have a protective cloth or something under the bumper to lay it on when it lets go...
