four wheel drive actuator less then $50 online at http://www.autozone.com. the four wheel drive actuator is basically an electronic hub locking system. replacing this part should fix 'er up!

Hard to say. When burnishing in new pads, you should make 20-30 stops on flat roads going from 25 mph to a stop and allowing time for the rotors to cool as needed. A burning smell is not necessarily abnormal however.

If no Ls are Qs then the converse is true that no Qs are Ls. If all Qs are Js, then at least some Js are Qs. Therefore, at least some Js are not Ls. You cannot conclude that some Js are Ls, however. It could be that all Js are not Ls. This cannot be concluded from the information given.

There is a plug toward the frt on the tranny, best way to get at it is from under the car. Also there is a drain plug on the bottom of the tranny. fill the tranny with 80w-90 rear end fluid up to the fill plug, if too much is put in, let it drain out of the fill hole until it stops, car will have to level. Can't seem to remember how much though??.....

Are you sure they are burnt out?? A 1998 model year vehicle is much too young to have theat many burned out bulbs. There is something else that is causing this problem.

To shift into or out of 4 wheel lo your transmission has to be in neutral, not park or any other gear. 4 hi works on the fly or parked. Occassionally the vacuum solenoid will go bad or the lines that regulate your four wheel drive have a leak and will cause your four wheel drive not to engage. Also with electronic shift the wiring can potentially go bad. But check the vacuum first. Auto zone can test it for you for leaks.

It' Really quite easier that it looks,I've had to do it myself. 1. Remove the wheel. 2.Remove the center nut from the axle. 3. Remove the brake assembly and rotor.(do not remove the brake line) 4. Remove the ball joint from the A frame and the two bolts on the bottom of the ball joint and slide it out,might be kinda tough, because of the pressure of the strut which you should be able to compress. 5. Put a oil pan underneeth the transmission and line up the shaft with the tranny, and pull it out as straight as possible, because it just has a snap ring on the end. YOU WILL NEED ONE QUART GEAR OIL.

A ball joint fork makes it much easier to pop the axle out. To pop it back in, make sure the missing part of the snap ring is at the BOTTOM, and then just try to pop it in by hand by repeatedly lunging it at the differential until it goes in.DO NOT use gear oil use 5W 30

Fuses and circuit breakers are two different circuit-protection safety devices. Normally, the metal element should look intact. If it appears broken or burned, or the glass is blackened, that fuse has blown, doing its job. Each fuse has an ampere rating number; only replace a fuse with one of the same rating. Previous residents may have left you spare fuses inside the fuse box or in a kitchen drawer. If none are around, they can be purchased at a hardware store. Take the old fuse to the store with you to find a match. (Do not touch or insert anything into the empty fuse socket; you could suffer a deadly shock.) Newer homes user breaker boxes. The switches inside perform the same function as fuses but are reusable. Breaker switches may look like simply a different kind of on/off switch (and they can be used that way), but they have a center off position they flip to when overloaded. To reset a breaker, first flip it to the off position and then back to on. You generally don't remove and replace a breaker switch. For both fuses and breakers, it is important to first determine what caused the overload that burnt out the fuse or flipped the breaker. If the problem was simply too many electric-powered items on at a time, turn some off and replace the fuse or reset the breaker. If you can find no apparent cause for an overload, there may be a dangerous short in your wiring or in a plugged-in device or appliance. In this case, replaced fuses and reset breakers will just blow again. You'll need to first discover and fix the source of the problem.

If you are talking about the ignition lock cylinder, turn the key to the accessory position, insert a paper clip into the little hole on the face of the lock cylinder to release the lock pin, turn the key a little further in a counter clock-wise direction and the lock cylinder will pull out.

If you are talking about a door lock cylinder, remove the door panel, roll the window all the way up, pop the little clip loose on the lock rod that is hooked to the back of the cylinder and remove the rod from the lock arm, then pull the 'C' clip out that is holding the lock cylinder in place and push the lock cylinder out.

If your engine is ideling fast its probably temperature senser. There is no adjustment for idle.

that last answer is not entirely true. u can adjust the idle. but it depends on if its a throttle body unit that looks like a carburetor or a smaller unit. on a TBI unit, there is a screw u can adjust but the only way to adjust it is with the right tool. its not a Philips screw or straight blade. but if its idling high or fast it might be the idle air control valve. the one went out on my 1985 sunbird and caused it to idle funny.

186 60 14. I'm running 165/80r15 Kumhos on my 97 Escort wagon. I found the 15" rims at the local wrecking yard. The tires clear the front strut towers by 1/2". This setup gears up my car 10 percent thus improving gas mileage. The OEM tires are 23" high and these are 25 5/8". you could go with P185/65r15's as well and that would gear you up 5 percent and those are 24" tall.
