If you replace the rear calipers and bleed the rear brakes do you need to bleed the front brakes also?

Yes-general rule for hydraulic brakes-start at the wheel furthest from the master cylinder(usually passenger rear) then move to next driver rear, front passenger side and finally drivers sidefront.

Where is the thermostat located on a Chevy Cavalier Z24?

It is in a very bad spot at the back passenger side of the engine below/ beside the exhaust manifold. Probably have to get to it from underneath the car, and removing the metal coolant pipe that goes under the engine up to the back. There is 2 8mm? or 10mm bolts that hold the metal pipe on and the thermostat is in there. Good luck!

What is the difference between a Chevy cavalier ls and z24?

z24 has the different wheels, its usually a 2 door. They both have the same 2.4L engine. If you fast forward to 2002, they made the z24 with 2.4L engine, but in the 2002-1/2 and up, they changed to the LS model, with 2.2 ecotec engine.

How do you change a fuel injector in a 1996 Chevy Cavalier?

Take the Cav to the dealership. Its worth the money to get them changed there.

or you can jsut go to an auto parts store and buy them yourself. They roughly are $40-$50 per injector. If its a 2.2L you just unscrew the screws holding it down and remove the bar that holds them down. Then you can simply pull them out. Careful not to let it spray ya, cause there will be some fuel in there. You should also see 2 orings per injector. If you only see one, just stick the injector back in the hole, the other one should come out with it when you pull it out again. Hope this helps and it will save ya some $$$

To relieve the fuel pressure: remove the fuel pump relay and fuse (under the hood, left side of engine compartment), start the car and let it run until it dies, turn the engine over a couple of times to remove as much fuel from the lines and fuel rail as possible. This will reduce the amount of pressurized fuel and reduce the mess of removing the fuel pressure regulator and the injectors.

If the timing belt broke on a 1996 Isuzu Rodeo 3.2L how do you reset the timing?

There are timing marks on the gears that MUST be aligned. An they need to line up on the Compression Stroke not the Exhaust Stroke.

You would be well advised to Consult with a Reputable Repair Shop and have them do it for you.

JUST TRYING TO HELP A LITTLE NOT MEANING TO STEP ON ANYONES TOES HERE!

1996 Isuzu Trooper 3.2 Timing Belt Instructions.

Actually there are 3 yellow marks on your new belt:

Align top right camshaft (Drivers Side) with mark on cam gear and mark on back plate, should be straight up and to the right a little and put one yellow mark of belt on that mark:

Left Side Camshaft (Passenger Side): align cam gear with back housing which it will be off set of bottom to the left some what: and Again put one of the yellow marks from the belt on these marks.

Now the crankshaft gear has a groove with a blue mark on it: put the last yellow mark from the belt on this blue mark, blue mark will be on bottom and to left a little.

Now rotate engine 2 full turns to take out slack and then make sure the tensioner is tight: be careful not to over tighten as you will stripe out the threads.

BE SURE TO PUT THE ROTATION OF THE BELT AS IT SHOWS YOU ON THE BELT, IF YOU PUT THIS ON BACKWARDS YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO ALIGN THE MARKS!

Now if you have these marks of the belt on the marks with the gears it is done it will run.

I searched all over the internet for these simple instructions and could not find them so I had to do this as a touch and feel thing. I guarantee you these are correct for this year application I have been a mechanic for over 30Yrs.

Are Z24 Cavalier cars still made?

2005 was the last year for the Cavalier. Owners were having tooooo many problems like gauge and lighting problems, suspenion problems, brake, head gaskets and just about everything else. GM wouldn't give recall's on it because it would drag them under. So, insted of fixing the problems they would just quit building them. but they needed something to take it's place. That's where the Chevy Cobalt comes in.

Where is the airbag module on a 2000 Cavalier and how can you reset the airbag light after replacing the bags?

Here's a site that will explain everything you need to know about airbag lights and resetting the system.

http://www.airbagsolutions.com/

This website gives you the procedure for diagnosing and resetting airbag lights. See if your car is listed here.

http://www.airbagsolutions.com/vehicles_list.aspx

On most vehicles, the airbag light should come on for @6 seconds, and then go off if the system is working properly. If there is a fault or a problem in the system, the light will remain illuminated, or flash continuously. If the airbag light does not work properly, some vehicles have an audible tone that sounds indicating a problem with the airbag light system. When the light is on (or the tone is sounding), the airbag will NOT deploy, even in an accident.

The flashing light on your car is telling the answer you need. On some vehicles, the light is flashing a two digit code. Once you know the code, you can most likely repair it yourself. There are fairly easy procedures that most people are capable of repairing.

Some vehicle manufacturers accommodate systems without a scanner (like Toyota, Lexus, Nissan, Infinity, Honda, Acura, Ford, Lincoln, Mazda & Mercury) and some require a scan tool.

Check out these websites also for more info on airbag systems and the light.

Under Passenger front seat. Must replace, no reset.(DERM unit)

Yes however sometimes they put it under the center middle console. And yes you can reset it. Don't spend hundreds of dollars on replacing. I googled a company called www.myairbags.com and they reset my original Airbag / SRS Computer Module for $55 and shipped it back to me for free. It worked and the my SRS system is effective.

On a 1995 Cavalier z24 the muffler was welded since it has been abnormally loud what could be wrong?

There are a few factors.. A big one depends on your exhaust system period, it may just be a loud set up that was installed, aftermarket performance system, or something of that nature. If it is stock, or just a normal exhuast system, then you have a leak. Even if you can see it, doesnt mean there isn't one. Holes will usually wear around clanps, and supports. any place that constantly rubs during vibration. You can often find these by starting the engine, and crawling underneath the car and listening. Another way is by applying smoke, or spraying soapy water (only works until pipes get hot, then shut off, and wait for cool down, continue where you left off) and looking for the mix to bubble. Another common area of leaks, are in the actual muffle body it self, the larger diameter part of your exhaust right before the tail pipe. Alot of times mufflers after age will develope holes around seams and edges.

How can you get the soft convertible top of a 1998 VW Cabrio convertible back up when it is stuck in the down position and the button doesn't seem to work?

I've had luck with having someone press and hold the top up button while manually pulling the top up. We found the top on my friends car could also be lowered this way - by holding the top down button and manually lowering the top.

If you open the trunk and look on the left side, you will see the cover. This contains the motor for the top. There should be a round plastic cover, if you pull this off you will see the motor. There will be a handle, which you want to turn left to release the pressure in the motor, this will let you manually lift and close the top or open. If the motor is okay and you can use it, then you must turn this handle to the right, in order for the pump to pressurize.
