How do you rebuild tilt and telescopic steering column 72 Corvette?

I had a 68 a long time ago which takes me back..........I wish I could help but I have found a place that really does help all Vette owners when they have questions like yours. Im directing you to a website: www.corvetteforum.com

This website was developed by Corvette owners for Corvette owners and its run and maintained by Corvette owners of all years.

The forum is broken into 6 groups, each group representing a generation of Corvettes. C1 is model years 53-62 C2 is 63-67, C3 is 68-83, C4 is 85-96, C5 is 97-04, C6 is 2005 til present

Use the website & find the forum year you need. You will find topics like: General discussion, Parts for sale, Performance, Cars for sale and TECH.

Decide which area best suits your question and use the search function to find if it has been answered before. If not, then post your question. Vette owners will either answer your questions directly or point you where to look for answers. I use this forum everyday.

The Corvette Forum website is not SPAM.

Change fuel filter 96 corvette?

iam pretty sure this fule filter is in the gas tank just below the sending unit

1986 corvette Automatic you keep getting a upshift arrow on the dash - What does that mean?

It means that your car was made when fuel economy was considered very important. To shift into a higher gear will reduce the number of engine revolutions per minute needed to maintain a given speed. However, it will also result in poor combustion, which ultimately will lead to deposits in the engine, which will reduce fuel economy. Ignore the light.

Can you wire a 350 tpi fuel injection engine in a non fuel injection 1977 corvette?

Yes, but it would be extremely difficult, probably more expensive and definitely take longer than ordering a fuel injection system from a performance parts retailer (like Summit Racing). The '77 won't have an Engine Management System (EMS) or On Board Diagnostics (OBD), so you'll need the computer and wiring. Easiest thing would be an engine swap with the wiring harness, computer and the transmission. I added the transmission because most EMS control transmission shift points. For me this would be an electrical nightmare, but if you're good with wiring schematics, you can accomplish it. Edelbrock makes a system for $2319 and sells it through SummitRacing: http://store.summitracing.com/partdetail.asp?autofilter=1&part=EDL%2D3507&N=700+%2D114145+115&autoview=sku This system has just about everything needed, you'll still need an electric pump for sure and distributor.

I had new tires and rims put on my 2000 corvette and the Service Tire Pressure Monitor message is displayed again after the tire store reprogrammed it so why is this?

the original rims for that vehicle have air pressure sensors built in them. if you replaced the rims, you would have to replace the sensors also. now, if you only replaced the tires, the sensors may have been damaged during installation.

Can you put the factory rims from a 2000 Corvette on a 1984 Corvette?

technically, yes if you bought an adapter if it needed one to begin with but if you have the car and the rims try it...i dont know if they havve the same amount of lugs tho...but im 16 what do i know 2nd opinion: Yes. I'm not too sure what ^^ is talking about with the adapter but, measurements will need to be taken. The obvious new tires with the rims will need to be bought because of the 84 rims being 255/50/16 I believe, and the 2000 rims could be whatever you want. Besides that, the hub in which the rims sit on needs to be the same size to spec, as well as if the rims are going to be offset (yes for the rear, and not so much for the front since it messes up your camber, toe, etc.)

What questions should you ask if you are thinking about buying a 1970 Corvette?

The only question I can think of is "How much do you want for it?" Asking the seller questions will really do no good, as he may lie. Take the car to a qualified, trusted, mechanic and have him look the car over for you. The money you pay him will be money well spent. You may also want to take it to a trusted body shop, and have it checked for previous collision damage. Body damage on a Corvette if not repaired correctly can lead to headaches down the road. Remember the saying, "Buyer Beware". Protect yourself.

What would cause a steering wheel to shake at speeds above 60mph-ish AFTER you put new tires on a set of new rims and they are balanced?

you didnt metion if they are universal lug pattern, if its not take the tires off and check the matting surface, sometimes small flakes of rust get between the rotor and the rim.
