After you unhook the front latches, push back to unhook top from the back ledge. Roll the rear window under first, push the top back slowly and then push the 1st(front) roller bar backwards as the top is falling into the backend. If you don't, the top won't fit flush. What year corvette? I have a 1989 Coupe and I removed the fuel door and the fuel boot and reached in through the access. You have to have skinny arms, though. It's a tight fit. I've read where some remove the inner fender, possibly the spare tire too or remove the rear fascia. Never tried those since I have skinny arms and can reach through after removing fuel door and boot.

But if it is leaking below the header as you stated it is probably coming from the manual fuel pump gasket or the pump itself or the cover plate if its been removed and replaced with electric.

In the gas tank. Remove the fuel door, there are four screws[should be torx]. Under the boot are the fuel lines. You will need to remove the boot, and it will probably rip. Carefully remove the hose clamps and hoses. Oh, you will want to remove the fuel pump fuse from the fuse panel, or disconnect the battery. Remove the screws around the perimeter of the sending unit, then carefully remove it from the tank. You will have to be creative in installing a new pump if this is why you are asking.
All pulls out thru top of gas door , unplugs , remove fuel pressure in lines first. Do this outside , have fire EX. around , and use rags to keep fuel off car.

first remove the light cover then just twist the bulb and it should come right off.
^^ this info is wrong. You'll damage the socket if you twist the bulb. You need to pull the bulb out; it takes a bit of work, I managed to do it with a pair of pliars being very careful not to break the bulb itself (if you did I don't suppose it would be a problem since you're replacing it anyway). Then, you just pop in the replacement bulb and replace the cover. I did it on my 2001 camaro, though I can't imagine the 2000 being much different.
