Why would a 1986 Corvette over heat after changing the fan and heat switch but wont click on?
Yep. Had the same problem on my 86. Changed the fan, sensor and relay. If you jumper the outer terminals on the relay connection you can tell if the fan works. If it does fine but the signal to 'throw' the relay from the ecm isn't working.Check with a test light for this signal. If ok replace relay.
IT COULD BE ONE OF THE COOLING FANS RUNNING, BAD RELAY.

Where is the orifice tube located in a 1993 Ford Taurus GL?
inside of the line that runs from the condenser to the evaporator. The orifice was not intended to be serviced separately, in other words, you are supposed to buy the whole line, but there are some aftermarket parts suppliers that have a service kit that you cut open the line, replace the tube, and clamp it back togther.
Where is the fuel pump relay on a 1994 corvette?
The fuel pump relay is located under the dash on the passenger side. You will have to remove the lower dash panel. Start by removing the air/heat vent by popping the center of the vent out and there will be two screws (Torques head) holding the vent in place, once the screws are removed the vent will pop out. Remove the side panel around and covering the fuses open and remove the fuse panel door you will see three screws that hold the side panel under the side panel there are two screws. After the side panel and the two screws are removed there are three nuts (10mm) where the air/heat vent was once removed the under dash panel can be removed carefully. Once the panel is loose disconnect the light and the panel can be set aside, you will see a small black box you will have to remove the cover and it does not tell you which one of the relays is the fuel pump relay. Good Luck.
How do you adjust the parking brake on a 1997 Chevy Corvette?
Underneath your vehicle, a steel threaded cable comes from the back of one hub and is joined by a short cable from the other hub--then the original cable runs to a threaded end with an adjuster nut in it--and one smaller nut on the end outside of that--(this is the equalizer bar)--you'll see it real close to your transmission. You might have to jack-up the back of the vehicle??? Pull the parking brake lever up sharply and then release it. Pull the parking brake lever to the second click and leave it there. You're looking for a slight drag of the brake shoes when you spin the wheels. To increase the drag, get under at the equalizer bar and turn the adjusting nut to take up the slack in the cables. Get out and spin the rear wheels if you think it's to tight. I will say don't be afraid to crank on it for a while as in this case, a little adjustment really does not go a long way. When you think you have the drag right, go back in the car and pull the brake up the the fourth click. At this point the wheels should be locked and you should not be able to turn them even when trying hard. If you can, tighten them up a little more. Once you've done this, release the brake and make sure the wheels spin freely. If they are still binding due to the parking brake, back off the adjustment a little. And that's basically the whole adjustment procedure.
Where is the flasher relay located on a 1986 Corvette?
REMOVE THE UPPER PANEL UNDER THE STEERING WHEEL, SHOULD BE TO THE LEFT OF STEERING WHEEL. BOTH FLASHERS SHOULD BE THERE HELD DOWN WITH CLIPS , TURN & HAZARD
or On my 1986 Corvette the flasher was installed under the passenger side panel just above where the passengers left knee would contact the dash. I know the diagrams don't indicate this but at least some 1986 Corvettes have the turn flashers there ( but not the emergency flasher relay which remained behind the information center , mid-dash)
Where is the paint code located on a 1999 Chevy cavalier?
Glove box, inside the console, door jam, or trunk. May even be listed in your owner's manual.
Remove the old battery, clean the cable connector ends, reinstall. Reset you clock and radio presets. First, you must take out the old battery. To do this, remove the rear inside wheel well panel on the drivers side. After the battery is disconnected it can be slid out toward the front of the vehicle. Removing the exterior body panel is not the way to go as it requires you to unscrew the bottom fsteners at the rocker panels. The lower part of the front fender [drivers side] must be removed to gain access to the battery. Among the tools needed will be a 10 mm ratchet wrench.
How do you replace the bulb in the fog light of a 2001 E320?
How do you fix a droopy door panel on a 1995 Corvette It won't stay after the door is shut?
I had the same problem with my 1994 Corvette Convertible. I drilled a small hole on the door edge where there is a square of fiberglass that is very thick. I simply lined up the panel and put in a small black head screw. The panel must be hanging tight on the window edge and the bottom tight before you do this. It worked for me......

How do you stop the engine from dieseling?
let it cool down a bit before shutting it down, and or tune up. check timing
Your engine may be running too rich. Has your gas mileage gone down?
try using higher octane fuel
There is now straight forward answer for this question, ignition timing, fuel mixture, valve timing, computer prom, and many other factores can contribute to dieseling. A Tech would need more info. to properly diagnose the problem. For example, mileage, type of fuel & ignition system,. I will say that most dieseling can be contributed to poor octane of fuel or timing.
I had the same problem on my old truck. When you shut the engine off it starts dieseling.Check the carburetor and see if the bottom butterflies are shutting all the way, if not try adjusting it or find out why they are not shutting . This is the most common cause of your problem.
How do you change the brake light bulb on a 1999 Isuzu Rodeo?
The tail light assembly is held on by 3 screws and a friction peg. Two of the screws are in the black grill-looking part on the side of the tail light assembly. The third screw is recessed between the bottom of the assembly and the top of the bumper. A screwdriver with a long shaft will be needed for that bottom screw. Once the screws are out, pry the assembly from the top. There is a friction peg at the top that must be "popped out", and then the entire assembly will be come out enough for you to get to the bulbs. To replace the tail light assembly, align the friction peg at the top, push it into place, and then align the screwholes. Replace the screws and you're done.
it could be the vats security if you turn ignition switch to on and security light stays on the wire in the ignition lock is broken or if it is a automatic could be safety switch
AnswerGenerally, when the engine won't turn over, it's a battery problem. If you hear a clicking sound when you try to start it, that's your solenoid and the battery is most definitely dead. It could also be the starter motor has gone..but the easiest way to tell is to check the battery for voltage first..
AnswerOn the 1986 and later GM cars there is a potential intermittent start problem that is linked to a computer failure (ECM). It is talked about in Chevy Bulletins. It can also cuse battery drain. The fix is to replace the ECM. I had the same problem with an 88 Blazer. Cost is around $125.00. Also the same intermittent start problem can be had because of the ignition switch. It is also covered in Chevy bulletins and requires the replacement of original switches and keys with newer ones that have a more narrow key way and insure reading of the resistance in the security "pellet on the key itself. Cost is around $50.00 for the switch and $30.00 per ignition key. Remember that once the ECM is replaced then you should have the shop scan for fault codes and get them cleared. Funny things such as uneven idle can happen and even the throttle position sensor will need to be reset. ajcampagnakfpd@AOL.com 4/18/2005How can you open the hood on a 1994 Buick Century when the release cable is broke?
