How do you replace the power steering hose in a 2002 maxima?
Just unscrew both sides of the hose you are replacing. Compare it to your new hose, check if the new hose came with the proper O-rings if not reuse the old ones. Once you have tightened up both ends of the hose if is a good idea to use a floor jack to lift the front of the car just enough to raise the tires off the ground. Take the cap off of the power steering pump. Turn the steering wheel to the left and right until you do not see any more bubbles come up (add more fluid as needed). Once you confirm you dont see anymore bubbles put the cap back on, lower the car and start the vehicle, turn the wheel a few more times, it may or may not be making the squeeling noise this is normal once you drive it around for a day or so the noise should stop.
If you are talking about the high pressure power steering hose on the maxima 2002
some of the above will not be helpful. I suggest going to.

Replace high pressure power steering hose 2002 Maxima SE
My SE has 98k. Suggest reading most posts, esp. ones with pictures, esp.
latest 2010 ones. Taking off about an hour once you locate hose and bolts
(see pictures in forum)
and putting on about 1.5. because of difficulty getting banjo lined up
and reconnecting center bracket plate and screw.(I used tie wraps-
works perfectly). Attached upper bracket loosely then, let hose drop down,
attached banjo then center, then tightened top.
I used 10mm open ended wrench for flange nut, 10mm socket wrench for
2 bolts on upper connection, 1 bolt screw on middle connection, 24mm
socket with long handle for banjo, bottom connection.
Used turkey baster to which I attached long straw with clear box tape to
drain reservoir and quart plastic milk container for old fluid.
Also used alum baking pan for oil drain pan below banjo nut.
Of course plenty of paper towels for excess oil on hose.
Emptied reservoir first using improvised turkey baster.
Disconnected top flange first, other 2 holding bolts at top, pulled out
sensor plug, pulled back and after cleaning upper hose under insulation(
leaking fluid) ,disconnected center screw(center bracket) and then went for the banjo nut after jacking car up with Nissan jack and using standard jack stand on right side. Once removed tire able to reach banjo behind wheel well with 24mm socket and long handle. Be sure to place oil pan under the banjo nut.
Your hands will get dirty and fluid will leak after you place hose
on ground.(use paper or something else under hose).
Once disconnected took my hose to Pirtek, a national firm that repairs hydraulic hoses. They can do if metal ends are not damaged.
Their website is http://www.pirtekusa.com/. If in Southern Cali and near Commerce can talk to Mgr. Ramiro Galvez. Cost about 48 bucks and repaired in about 30 minutes in-house. Cannot do from mobile truck.
Very clean shop with friendly, knowledgeable staff. Say they do all the time because of cost or replacement hoses(see forum). Hose is better than original because braided on outside and steel braided on inside.
I suspect other nationwide shops are the same. Very pleased with work
and cost.
Putting back on by loosely attaching upper bracket bolts then
drooping hose in position, lining up lower banjo bolt and screwing in(hard),
then loosening upper bracket bolts, folding back top part of hose then
connecting center bracket screw(I used tie wraps), then reconnecting
upper bracket bolts, flange nut and sensor plug.
Fill reservoir to cold max, turn car on and turn wheel from stop to stop
slowly several times and check reservoir. B sure to fill to cold max.
Be sure to check for leaks esp. at banjo before replacing tire and lowering car.
Heard some noise(air in system) Local master mechanic sez takes about
500 miles to work out whenever change pump or hose.
Good Luck and try to repair if you can. U'll save bucks.

How do you replace the lower intake manifold gasket in a 99 Chevy Venture?
there is no lower intake gasket, only a front and rear gasket
How can you get moisture out of the headlights of a 1995 Ford F-150?
That usually requires replacement. However, you can try drilling a small hole at the bottom of the lens or housing. This might let the moisture dry out. Good luck.
additional info: I've had this same problem with a number of vehicles with replaceable light bulbs and not the sealed beam type of headlights. My fix has always worked great although you might find it kinda strange. I drill several quarter inch holes in the back of the headlight housing under the hood and then cover the holes with a large high quality bandaide. This lets air circulate some allowing the condensation out but at the same time keeps rain and carwash splash out. The problem goes away almost immediately and stays away. Just be prepared for some questions from a mechanic if you ever take it in for dealer work.....
Why does your battery keep draining in your 1996 Chevy Venture minivan?
Usually only two reasons for this. Either the charging system isn't properly functioning or there is something on that shoudnt be. The latter is usually a glove box light or under hood light that doesnt shut off. The charging system could be either the battery or the alternator. Have this checked. That is the easiest way. Usually somplace like Auto Zone will do this for free. Usually though the battery is going bad and not taking full charge or just not holding charge. I hope this helps. Brad.
Where is the thermostat located on a 2005 Chevy Venture?
it is on the driver's side of the vehicle behind the exhaust crossover pipe. follow the radiator hose from the radiator to the engine on the driver's side. removal of the crossover pipe would be best but it can be down without removing the crossover pipe. if you choose not to remove the crossover pipe, it will be considerably harder. you will have to use a cresent ( adjustable) wrench to loosen the bolts on the thermostat housing and you will not be able to see the bottom bolt or gasket. you will be working blind.
What kind of coolant do you use for a 1998 venture?
for my 2000 Chevy Venture I use DexCool. It is the ONLY one recommended by GM.

How do you remove a door panel on a 2003 Chevrolet Venture van?
Remove the metric bolt (10mm) under the grab handle with a socket wrench. You need to remove the switch assembly to get to the second metric bolt. It has plastic clips around the edges. push the whole unit forward and pull up slightly and press in the clips to allow it to come up. The second bolt is now accessible with the same socket. Once the 2 bolts are out you pull around the edges of the panel and the white plastic "grabber" type fasteners can slowly be pulled out as you pry the panel away. You will likely break a couple. They are replacable. Hope this helps.
How do you change the serpentine belt on a 96 Pontiac Bonneville?
No need to remove the engine mount. You are able to remove the right. front lower motor mount bolt and sleeve though the wheel well. Just turn the wheels far to the right, remove belt from alternator with tensioner, remove the plastic inner cover in the wheel well and use two long extensions on a breaker bar to remove the lower bolt only on the motor mount. Pull the bolt out and remove the sleeve next to the engine. With the sleeve removed you can install and route the new belt. Reinstall sleeve and bolt.
Also called "A" arms. they are out at each from wheel and attach to the strut by way of the ball joint.

Where are the fuses for the radiator fans 1998 Chevy venture?
Hi,
The fuses for the radiator fans are located in the Under-hood fuse block, which is located just above the battery. I believe there are actually two fuses: COOL FAN 1 & COOL FAN 2. You can see a diagram on the link provided.
Good Luck, Greg
Passenger front electric window on vw sharan wont close?
Hi my had the same problem the window went down and occasionally would go up, when the door panel came off water had corroded the door wiring harness but it was easily and cheaply repaired with a used part .
How can I find where the hi top on my Chevy van is leaking and How do I repair it?
I had the same problem on my 1984 chevy van, in the right rear corner there was water leaking in. I understood right away that there was a lot of work included in fixing it and quite sadly the build quality of the work mounting the roof was very poor..
The first thing to do is considering how to strip down the light ramps and any other accessories in the roof. Both electrical stuff such as lights, antennas and speakers in order to avoid cables following the top when lifting it, you may have to lift it all the way off the van or maybe just put some wooden planks across the top edge of the van between the glassfibre top and metal body.
So start with stripping down the interior around the overlap between the top and metal body. Disconnect (cut) any wiring (repair them later with soldering + heat shrink or other prefered method) then start removing the rubber/plastic lining around the outside aluminum strip holding the top in place. Remove all the screws and the aluminum strip. Then try prying the top upwards until it comes loose from the old sealant.
Inspect for rust, you may need to weld in some new sheet metal, I had to replace a lot of it on my van.. Remove all the old sealant (get some new one first) make sure the surfaces are nice and clean. Then smear on lots of new sealant on both the van and the roof surfaces, better off using too much than having new leaks later needing to make all that work again.. Use heavy duty rubber based or some sillicone sealant, make sure it will handle the enviroment such as high temperatures in the sun and cold winter climate. I used sealant for box truck wall edges. I think windscreen sealant may work too, but wouldn't recommend it.
Then lower the roof back on to the van, make sure that it fits nicely and that some excess sealant pushes out both on the inside and the outside. Then reapply the aluminum strip for the screws (use stainless screws that wont rust) you may want to put some sealant in between the strip and the van in order to make it stay tight. Drill new holes in between the old screwholes with a drill slightly smaller than the screws you intend to use, this way you will eliminate the problem with bad sync between old screwholes trough all the layers. This saves you a lot of trouble.
Inspect it all and if it looks good, then put the rubber or plastic lining back in the aluminum strip to cover the screws.
When it's confirmed that there are no leaks after the repair work (and if there are, just inject some sealant where needed) you may start to reassemble the interior in the reverse order.
When it's all done and put back together you'll be happy and proud with the accomplishment :)
You may want to check all windows for leaks too, windshield, rooftop and the doors, the rubber seals dry with age and may have shrunk a bit letting water in.
The metal around the windows may need inspection for any rust including the windscreen that is known to both suffer from leaks and rust. You can use the sealant that you used on the roof to put in all critical areas where water may pass trough in order to make a complete sealing and keeping the water outside.
I hope that this answer is good and wish you good luck with the work, it's easy if you're 2-4 persons extra to do the work and remember, it's not impossible to do!
Cheers from Sweden!

97 venture van has no lights inside fuse ok what could be wrong?
In my venture ther is a switch on the overhead console that disables the inside lights.
How much should it cost to replace a crankshaft on a Chevy Venture?
I'm not going to itemize this job. I can say, if your mechanically inclined it would probobly be cheaper to buy a "short block" engine and swap all the other stuff over yourself. Even if you include buying an engine hoist.
You smell a burnt rubber smell from under the hood of your 2001 Chevy venture what is it?
