What are the cylinder numbers on a 01 Chevrolet Venture?
2,4,6 from left to right on front bank,1,3,5 from left to right on rear head.(when facing engine from front of van)
If the system was totally empty of oil, you would divide up the 11 oz of oil between the evaporator, condenser, compressor and dryer. If you only replaced the dryer, you only need to replace an ounce or two.
How To Flush the transmission on a 98 Chevy Venture?
You can either undo the drain cock of the radiator or just pull the bottom hose of the radiator. I usually do the latter. After it is emptied, either fill it with water or water and flushing agent and restart vehicle. Let it run up to operating temperature to get the thermostat to open and recirculate the coolant. Shut off and empty the system again. Repeat until the water runs clear. When it runs clear, refill the radiator or overflow with 50/50 mixture of coolant/water. Run up to temperature and recheck the level, add as needed.
================
it asked how to flush the transmission, not the radiator!
With your great instructions, now some half-wit clown is going to try putting water in his transmission. I guess anyone can give "advice" on this site.
Even if you were trying to tell them how to flush the RADIATOR, you missed a key part ---- on the GM 3400 engines in the venture and montana, etc, YOU HAVE TO OPEN THE AIR-BLEED VALVE WHILE FILLING THE RADIATOR. If you don't, you get an air pocket in the engine and a cracked engine block/head when it heats up! moron
Anyway, to flush the TRANSMISSION, you would need to disconnect the transmission cooling lines at the radiator (passenger side) and "pump out" the bad fluid into a bucket with the engine running while using a small electric pump to "push in" the new fluid through the opposite transmission line. It helps to have a couple of feet of rubber hose to extend to the bucket, etc. It will take approx 19 quarts of fluid to get the old stuff out. An alternate (amateur) method is to disconnect just one transmission line from the radiator and pump it out with the engine running while pouring fluid down in the dipstick filler tube. Warning, if you run the fluid completely out it can cause transmission pump damage.
It can be a messy job, so be prepared.
1999 Chevy Venture no brake lights Third brake light works you have changed bulbs and brake switch.?
Sounds to me like you have a broken spring in the valve body You need to have a line pressure test to be sure but that is a common problem in the older cars
How do you shut off alarm system off Chevrolet venture 1999?
My 1994 dodge eagle vision alarm would not shut off--tried disconnecting battery and waiting thirty minutes and that did not work. But what did work was this way-------
Lock all doors manually by hand--do not use the power button on side of the door--then in drivers side put in the key in the door and turn key to unlock -then lock -then unlock -then lock -then unlock. alarm will be going off at this time but after the third lock -unlock- the alarm should stop and then go in and the car should start.
Is there a fuel pump relay button on a 97 Chevy Venture van and where is the fuel pump located?
Fuel Pump is located inside the fuel tank. Both the sensor and pump are combined.
How do you change a cabin air filter on a 2003 Avalon?
You will see three Phillips head screws across the top and one on lower left, remove these, now on the lower right back in an indent you will see a 10mm bolt head, remove this bolt. There are several metal push-clips holding the glove box in place after the four screws and bolt are removed. Pull firmly from the top and rotate the bottom right flange out from behind the molding where the bolt was removed. There is a plastic foot shield that snaps to the bottom edge of the glove box. Pull it off the box. Gently pull glove box out and let hang down. If you want you can unplug the wire to the trunk opener cancelling switch by pushing the little tab while pulling out. You can now maneuver the filter holder out of its tray that is above where the glove box was. Grasp filter holder from both sides with fore fingers and pull it straight out. Remove filter from holder and install new filter the same way. Reinstall filter holder, Gently put glove box back in place, reinsert screws and bolt. Enjoy the fresh air.
What causes the locks to lock and unlock by themselves on a 1996 Ford Explorer?
Possible the system is deactivated. 1. Sit in the driver seat, turn the key on. 2. Hit the unlock doors button 3 time (within 5 sec of each other). 3. Turn the key off and hit the unlock 3 times again. You should get a chirp from the horn. If this does not solve your problem, you can try the same proceedure but hit the Lock button Vs the unlock button
Where do you add rear washer fluid on 1999 Chevy Venture?
Hi,
The front & rear washer fluid reservoir is the same on these vans. The difference is that the pump for the rear wiper is mounted higher on the reservoir and toward the back of the engine compartment. So when the fluid starts to run low (not all the way down), the rear wiper pump will appear to "run out" first - before the front windshield. It kind of makes sense, since you are much more dependent on having vision to the front than the rear.
Good Luck
Where is the heater relay on a 1995 Mazda Protege?
The relay is H270 above the fuse block next to the clutch pedal.
How do you disable the automatic headlights on a 2002 Chevy Venture?
You need to put on the emergency brake BEFORE starting the vehicle.
H !
[The answer given is correct, but if you intend to drive this way (to drive with "DRL" (Daytime Running Lights") turned off), only push the emergency brake pedal down JUST far enough to turn on the "Brake" light (use the very first "click" that turn on the brake light). USUALLY, this will not actually engage the brake, but depending on how the brakes are adjusted, there is a slight risk that the brakes would be engaged. Obviously, driving around with the brakes engaged could be catastrophic (could even result in the vehicle catching fire), but you should be able to sense whether there is ANY "drag" from brakes being applied.]
open the fuse panel on the passengers side of the dash, remove the 10amp DRL fuse, the location is shown on the diagram inside the fuse panel cover. This will disable your DRL's and the automatic headlamps, headlamps will still work normally with the switch.
What to look for on my 1999 Chevy venture mini van cranks but wont fire up?
Hi,
I have a 99 Venture, and this exact situation happened to me while on vacation.
I was lucky to find a very nice Ford dealership who quickly diagnosed the problem - fuel pump not delivering fuel. It seems as though a "pass through" connector under the vehicle which supplies the fuel pump voltage, had its fair share of corrosion. If you look beneath the van, beside the driver's side sliding door, you will see a 2 plugs. Take them off and examine them for corrosion - if you will see the tell-tale green colour (oxidized copper), give them a good cleaning. In my case, they were so badly corroded, that the pins (both male and female) had to be replaced - that meant removing all but the 2 front seats, rolling up carpet to just behind the driver, and working on the plugs there. The Chev dealer would not sell me the connectors, but I found a automotive place that sold me "Packard Connectors" (packs of 10, $5 each). Disconnect battery, replace old connectors, give the leads a coat of solder just to tin them, and use some plummer's putty when re-assembling the "pass through. Make sure you make a sketch of the wiring pattern and their respective colours.
Good Luck.

The short answer is, you can't. The ABS light is just an indicator that a problem has been detected in the ABS system. Almost all of the indicators in the dashboard are driven by the class 2 serial line, which is used for data communications between the different control modules in the van. The modules involved in this particular case are the Electronic Brake Control Module (EBCM) and the dashboard.
To get the light to turn off, you will have to repair the problem that has been detected. To find out what the problem is, you will need a diagnostic using a class 2 scan tool that can communicate with the EBCM, which most "generic" scan tools are not capable of doing.
Most of the time, these types of problems are traced back to one or more of the wheel speed sensors, which are the main input components for controlling that ABS system.

What stops power to the fuel pump?
ON SOME CHEVY VEHICLES THE OIL PRESSURE SWITCH HAS A DOUBLE RELAY BUILT INTO IT THAT IF IT IS BAD WILL ALSO FEED THE FUEL PUMP EVEN WITH THE IGNITION OFF
As well if the inertia switch was tripped that will also stop power to the fuel pump.
Would this cause the HVAC #21 fuse in the inside of truck to keep blowing?
How do you change fuel pump on 2003 Chevy Venture?
The fuel pump is located in the fuel tank. So to replace it you will have to drain and drop the tank to do the job.
Good Luck
The power sliding door on a Chevy Venture will not open?
i have this same problem in my van so we figured out that you have to act like your going to open the door from the outside and then put up on the lock from the inside then it should open
The door will not unlock from either side while closed. l think i mupst start by removing door panel but then what ?
What are the torque specs for the upper and lower intake in a Chevy Venture?
If this is the V-6, then you must have a common problem...lower intake leaks coolant.
The torque spec for the lower manifold is:
First pass: 60 inch pounds
Second pass: 110 inch pounds
Last (outer bolts only): 18 foot pounds
Upper intake is a total 88 inch pounds in at least two steps.

Where is the thermostat in a 2000 S10 Chevrolet?
I've got a better question, why is this question in the Chevy venture forum ?
Why does the floor on the passenger side get wet when it rains?
I had a '92 Corsica that had that problem, it was the weather stripping along the door that was causing the problem. If it doesn't seal properly, or if the weather stripping is coming loose in some place it won't work as well as it should.
7/9/08
Many ford escorts have that problem from a leak where the rain water is not draining completely from cowl area and dripping into the vent system around the blower fan on the passenger side. I also saw a Chevy cavalier with a wet floor from the a/c condensation not draining & it was overflowing into the passenger area.
Our 1999 Grand am had a small pinhole in the floor allowing water to come up under the carpet. Pull your carpet back a little and take a water hose spray under floor boards see if you can see water coming in.
well many of the older cars have drains from the vents they can be difficult to locate but look at the bottom of your wind shield and remove the plastic cover that covers the air filter take a vacuum a suck it all out pour a glass of water in there well not into where the blower motor is just at the base of where the filter was a see if the water drains out if not the drain is still plugged and that is how the water is getting in it floods the compartment and backs up in to the motor shroud and in turn leaks out onto the passenger side floor so try an air hose or just keep on vacuuming until you find it good luck
How do you change the PVC valve on a 2001 Venture?
First of all it is the PCV valve and not PVC(the plastic). The PCV valve is located on the valve cover towards the front of the vehicle, nearly 4 inches from the oil dipstick. It is inserted in a rubber grommet on the valve cover and is connected to a hose about half an inch in diameter. Both the hose and the grommet are fitted to th PCV valve by merely pressing them in. First press the hose on the PCV valve then seat(press) the PCV valve into the grommet.
