What size engine should you get in a motorcycle?
Many factors affect choice of engine size. Of prime importance is the licence you hold and any restriction to engine size that it carries. After that it is what you want the bike for and the type of bike that best suits the purpose. Then it is what bike in that group fits you best, regardless of engine size. The best bike is the one you are part of not the one you perch on. Finally, engine and performance depend on what you want to do, the type of riding you intend to do, your weight, your passenger/gear weight. Then the engine itself; Japanese multi cylinder engines need high revs to produce power and a 'good size ' for general use is about 600cc and is probably the most economical in terms of servicing, fuel economy, insurance etc. Twins and singles (excluding Ducati and Vrod) are lower revving but have a lot more torque for pulling up hills and carrying weight but generally less acceleration and a lower top speed.
Common Rail Direct Injection (CRDI)
Did you ever shy away from buying a Diesel car thinking that you would be buying a taxi? If yes then you can rethink your decision as CRDI engines are all set to revolutionize the way one looks at Diesel cars.
CRDI engine fitted cars offer 25% more power than the normal direct injection engine with a superior pickup and torque offering sometimes up to 70% more power than the conventional diesel engines.
They are smooth less noisy and immensely fuel efficient giving around 24 kilometers to a liter of Diesel. The fact that Diesel is cheaper than petrol in India further attributes greatness to the engine. In a CRDI engine, a tube or a common rail connects all the injectors and contains fuel at a constant high pressure.
This high pressure in the common rail ensures that when injected, the fuel breaks up into small particles and mixes evenly with the air, thereby leaving little un-burnt fuel thus reducing pollution. The common rail principle has been used to cut out the noise factor which used to be associated with Diesel engines; the technology has been pioneered by the Fiat group, only to be adopted by other automobile companies around the world.
Like all good things in life, these engines also come at a price; they are at least 25% more costly than the conventional engines. They also require a higher degree of maintenance and spares aren't cheap also.

How do you adjust the tensioner on a 1992 jeep 4.0 liter engine?
Mexico is a country with nearly 300,000 hotel rooms. This does not include boutique hotels and inns, or the motels you'll find along the way in the smaller villages. Before you can book hotel accommodations, you'll need to determine your itinerary. Once you do, you can google the destination for hotels, or visit one of the discount travel sites. Before you do, you might want to visit the U.S. State Department's website and review the travel advisories issued for Americans thinking of heading off to Mexico. www.http://travel.state.gov/travel/cis_pa_tw/tw/tw_1764.html
How do you remove the lifter body on a 1995 E-250 6 cylinder 300 ci engine?
The Ford 300 has a side cover for this purpose. It is hard to get at in a van.
How do you flush sealant from the engine?
I dont think you can flush sealent from the engine unless its disasembled and possibly hot tanked. The sealent is going to be hard to break down without drastic measures in most cases. Hot tanking the engine uses either a type of corosive chemical or it uses very hot water and soap. The chemical hot tank is becoming less comon because the chemicals are dangerous and almost not worth using because of cost. The block is the most important because you dont want any oil ports blocked or any new parts are going to end up wearing out without the oil lubricating the bearings. Otherwise be carefull when using sealent and clean all excess with a rag or towel
How much does it cost to run an engine block heater?
The cost to run an engine block heater typically ranges from $0.10 to $0.30 per hour, depending on the wattage of the heater and local electricity rates. Most block heaters are around 400 to 1,000 watts, so if you run it for 2-4 hours before starting your vehicle, the total cost would be approximately $0.20 to $1.20 per use. It's generally more economical to use the heater only when necessary, such as during extremely cold weather.

What is swirl in diesel engines?
Swirl in diesel engines refers to the rotational motion of air within the combustion chamber during the intake and compression strokes. This swirling motion enhances the mixing of fuel and air, leading to more efficient combustion and improved performance. By promoting better atomization of the fuel and a more uniform temperature distribution, swirl helps to reduce emissions and increase engine efficiency. The design of the combustion chamber and intake ports can significantly influence the swirl characteristics in diesel engines.
What is a run away diesel engine?
A runaway diesel engine occurs when the engine continues to run uncontrollably, often due to the ingestion of its own lubricating oil or fuel, leading to excessive RPM and potential damage. This can happen if the engine's fuel supply is not properly shut off or if there is a malfunction in the fuel system. It poses significant risks, as the engine can overheat and cause catastrophic failure if not addressed quickly. Immediate action, such as cutting off the air supply or using a kill switch, is crucial to prevent damage.
