Where can you find a engine breakdown for a 93 buick with a 3800 engine?
A GM dealer's service center might be able to help.
What is the most mileage on an engine?
There are long haul diesel engines on the road that have 1, 2, & even 3 million miles on them. Gasoline engines have been know to go 1 million miles.
Is the 1.8L engine in a 1996 Miata an interference engine?
No ( not according to Gates - they make timing belts etc. )
An engine is measured by the volume of air inside the piston bores. If you've seen an oil commercial and you see those round things hammering up and down, that's a piston. It sits in a sleeve and when it gets to the top, the plug fires, and drives it down again. That's where your drive power comes from. So if you have a 3.2 liter engine, the total amount of air that can be displaced in all the cylinders totals 3.2 liters. If you want to know how much each cylinder can displace you need to divide the volume (3.2 liters) by the number of cylinders you have, and I'd say a 3.2 is almost certainly a 6 cylinder jobbie. So 3.2 liters is equal to 3200 cubic centimeters divided by 6 is about 530 cubic centimeters or, to come back American again, each cylinder has a volume of about half a quart, mas o minos. Phil
What is shell mesh in hypermesh?
A shell mesh is a series of Finite elements that use shell representation of a surface to predict the behavior of the part. Beam or solid elements would be the other choices. Shells are generally used to simulate most auto body structures.
Why could an engine overheat going uphill?
Engine straining Low coolant?
Cooling fan not working?

Will a 1989 suzuki engine interchange with a 1995 tracker?
Yes it should, with a bit of work. But first, is the car registered or do you intend to register it? In CA anyway, it is illegal to put an older engine in a newer car, and if you do and get caught you will not be able to register the car. It IS legal to put a newer engine in an older car, but technically then it must pass the smog rules of the newer engine, which means it could be problematic. But if you're looking at a pure off-roader that's something else. The reason I say "it should" is that Geo Tracker 1600cc engines were commonly swapped into Suzuki Samurai's to give them more power. Generally you would put an 8 valve Geo engine into a Samurai...if you had a 16 valve Geo you had more stuff you needed to bring over with it. SO: If your Geo Tracker has an 8 valve engine: The samurai engine should be able to reuse the same intake and exhaust manifolds. The bell housing of the transmission will probably not have "ears" in the right places to bolt onto the samurai block, so it will need modification. And there may be challenges with the starter too. I never made a tracker engine -> samurai body swap but had read a lot about it. Some folks sold an engine/transmission adapter plate, others talked about just having someone who could weld aluminum weld on new ears on the bell housing. Since the Geo is fuel injected, it uses an electronic fuel pump at much higher pressure than the carburatored samurai used. The Samurai "head" will have an eccentric off the camshaft to drive a rod out the side of the rear of the passenger side of the head to drive the mechanical fuel pump. But since you will be reusing the Geo manifold, fuel injector, and fuel pump you do not need the mechanical fuel pump off the samurai engine. So you could just unbolt the samura fuel pump, pull out the little rod or shaft, and then make a small trapizoidal shaped plate to bolt on in place of the fuel pump so oil does not pour out the fuel pump hole. IF you have a 16-valve Geo I would not consider using a Samurai engine....you would have to swap in the Samurai intake manifold and carb, and keep the mechanical fuel pump and disable or eliminate the stock geo one, and on and on. It would be a lot of work to have a much weaker engine.
How can you turn your check engine light off in your 1983 Chevy El Camino?
A CHECK ENGINE light indicates there is a problem. You can't just turn it off. The computer will have to be scanned, Most Auto Zone parts stores will scan it for free. The Scan will tell you what needs attention, repaired or replaced. When they scan the computer, they can re-set the light, BUT it will only come back on after about 50 or so miles, or even right away, until the repair is done. It can come on due to anything from a dirty air filter all the way to a bad engine. You should have it scanned and see what the issue is.
Can you replace a 3.0 engine with a 4.0 engine on a 1998 Ford Ranger 5 speed?
Yes but you will need complete wiring harnesses and the ecm for the 4 liter v6 that's the only way.
The 1996 7.3 L Power Stroke produced 215 horsepower @ 3,000 RPM & 450 lb-ft of torque @ 2,000 RPM. The 1999 7.3 L Power Stroke produced 225 horsepower @ 2,700 RPM & 500 lb-ft torque @ 1,600 RPM.
The 1999 7.3 L F-series features an intercooler (not available in vans), a smaller turbocharger, & larger 120 cc injectors compared to the 1996 Power Stroke's 90 cc injectors. The 1996 has a larger non-wastegated turbocharger, while the 1999 is wastegated.
Compression, engine tuning, & rotating assembly is the same in 1996 & 1999 models.
What is the difference between a diesel and an unleaded engine?
A gasoline engine intakes a mixture of gas and air, compresses it and ignites the mixture with a spark. A diesel engine takes in just air, compresses it and then injects fuel into the compressed air. The heat of the compressed air lights the fuel spontaneously. A diesel has not spark plugs. A gasoline engine compresses at a ratio of 8:1 to 12:1, while a diesel engine compresses at a ratio of 14:1 to as high as 25:1. The higher compression ratio of the diesel engine leads to better efficiency. Because of the higher compression ration, a diesel is built with much stronger components and tends to last much longer than a gasoline engine. Diesel fuel is a combustable, meaning that heat and pressure create an explosion, Lamp oil and Jet fuel are also combustables, diesles can opperate on about any combustable liquid if nessisary. Unleaded Gas is a flamable, meaning an open flame or spark causes an explosion, alcohol and propane are flamable as well but gas engines need some modifications to run on them.
What should the engine temperature be on a 1.0L polo on a 1997 when the engine is warm?
Generally when your engine is up to temperature the needle should sit in the middle of the gauge. If your getting an abnormal engine temperature reading check the engine coolant level and thermostat. Also if the fan isn't engaging the engine could overheat (if you drive round in heavy city traffic and you cant hear the fan kicking in this could be the reason for the abnormal reading.
when i first got my polo (2000 model) the temperature reading would read normal but would suddenly drop down to zero, changing the temperature sensor in the engine remedied this.
hope this helps!
I agree this is correct, In addition to what he saidyou can also check the main hose of the radiator - the hose going toward the radiator. If you feel to much pressure even if you just drove for 10mins on average weather then radiator must be clogged and needs to be cleaned
Do you have an exhaust leak?
Do you happen to have have an exhaust leak or a damaged water pump bearing?
What if gasoline is used in a diesel engine?
Hi,your diesel engine will go really quick for a little bit.
NOTHING MUCH WILL HAPPEN, the engine will not run or run so badly that you will have to investigate. drain out as much of the incorrect fuel as you can and refill with the correct fuel. If it is a diesel engine, use the primer pump to extract as much gas as possible. You can then top up with the correct fuel with as much as about a 5% mix, starting will take a little time but take it easy, once the engine is running smoothly again you can apply power, but take it easy for the first few miles. IGNORE THE NAYSAYERS, NO DAMAGE WILL BE DONE OVER A SHORT PERIOD. I HAVE DONE THIS ON NUMEROUS OCCASIONS - THOSE THAT SAY OTHERWISE ARE JUST TRYING TO FRIGHTEN YOUR MONEY OFF YOU - I HAVE HEARD THIS COSTING PEOPLE THOUSANDS - ALL UNNECESSARY!
How do you unfreeze your 750 Honda engine?
Depending on how or why your motor froze up . You can try taking out the spark plugs and putting diesel fuel in the cylinder and let it soke for a week. Then try to knock it lose.
What is oil clearance in the internal combustion engine?
It all depends on the make of the engine, application, oil type and usage of the engine.
Is the engine on a 96 TSI talon an interference engine?
very much is one, most dsm's are all interference motors, once the timing belt breaks, snaps, tears, anything happens to that belt while drving or even while the car is running, you can almost count on getting a new head or your valves re-set, alot of damage can be done with anything happening to that timing belt
