What is meaning of UC and UB in steel section codes?

Universal Columns (UC) and Universal Beams (UB) are refered to as "I Sections" or "H Sections". The differenciation in UB and UC lies in their Depth to With ratio. The depth of UB is greater than its width and difference is quite big, making it easy to spot. Unlike a universal beam, the UC's width is roughly equal to their depth.

The increased depth in case of UB results in higher loading capabilities than UCs, however there is not always enough space to use a UB. An example is a 203 x 133 UB 30. The first number is the depth of the beam, the second is the width and the last number is the weight (in this case 30) per metre in kilograms. Again, by multiplying the total beam length in metres by the weight per metre we can quickly work out what is the total weight of the beam.

Universal columns are the most often used section for structural steel purposes. A 152 UC 23 is 152 mm wide and 152 mm deep. The last number (23 in this example) is the weight per metre in kilograms. Universal columns are mainly used for columns, however their small depth compared to universal beams make them ideal load bearing members when height is limited (which is quite often the case in residential projects).

An external combustion example is a steam engine where the heating prosses is done in an boiler out side the engine.

What are the relationship between safety and quality in workplace?

Safety and quality performance are interlinked as they are indirect measures of the attention to detail. A business with a high rate of safety incidents is unlikely to be consistently producing high quality goods or services.

Quality basically is to ensure we can meet the specification within tolerable limit. Safety is quite the same. They share the same approach in analysis and "fault" finding as well as improvement. Both safety and quality indicator basically shows your management capability and commitment into meeting specs and manages risks. ps: risk = anything that can produce loss, it can be loss of product value or loss of life/worktime.

Is radioactivity good or bad?

Radioactivity as it is applied to nuclear medicine and to sources for radiography and the like are, in general, good. (In light of the true sense of the question, nuclear power generating plants are being set aside. They are about heat and power generation, and "radioactivity" is a by broduct.) There are broad applications for this technology and some insight into them can be had by reviewing the Wikipedia articles. (Links are provided.) There is a down side to radioactivity, however. Uncontrolled radiation poses a grave risk, and one must do a cost-benefit ratio. Additional difficulties in assessing the down side are associated with the fact that some radiation is extremely long-lived (thousands of years!), and, of course, radiation is invisible and can "sneak up" on us in certain situations. Additional links are provided.

What are the comparisons of Hitler and Zedong?

Adolf Hitler and Chairman Mao were both ruthless dictators who were responsible for millions of deaths, and in addition, both created what is known as a "cult of personality" by which they took on an obsessive or god-like role within their nations. Hitler was the fuhrer, and Mao was the "great helmsman". Both succeeded in convincing their foolish followers that they had magnificent and unparalleled leadership ability and wisdom, when the reality was that both brought ruin to their countries.

What serves as standard of comparison to evaluate effect of the independent variable on dependent variable?

The correlation coefficient, plus graphical methods to verify the validity of a linear relationship (which is what the correlation coefficient measures), and the appropriate tests of the statisitical significance of the correlation coefficient.

What is the definition of leet?

This is gamer terminology. This is a form of the English language shortened for mainly gamers for shortening the length of time spent typing. Or sometimes, for fun or it sounds weird/cool.

ex:

lol = laugh out loud

rofl = roll on floor laughing

rotfl = roll on the floor laughing

lmao = laugh my ass off

wth = what the hell

wtf = what the f*** (sorry, this is obscene, but I believe it helps)

haxzor = hacker

the = the

pwn = to defeat a person

Somtimes, leet simply means elite.

Such as this case:

leet hackzor = elite hackor

leet pwner = elite person defeater

It can also be defined as a form of language replacing letters with numbers & symbols that look similar. An example would be using 1337 for leet.

Leet means elite, which is now known as 1337. It means "To be so awesome in an awesomely nerdy way." Here is the 1337 language code:

Is alliteration a direct comparison between two things?

No, similes and metaphors are comparisons between two things.

simile: saying something is like something else eg: he was as hungry as a bear or his hunger was like a bear's. The double use of 'as' or the use of 'like' are common in similes.

metaphor: saying something IS something else, eg: America was a river in which my sins were forgotten and my past washed away.

Alliteration is simply a phrase or sentence in which the main words (not the little filler grammar words like a, in, on, under, etc) all start with the same letter or sound, eg: "Bears' brekkie bagged by blonde" (Goldilocks and the 3 bears) Often used in newspaper titles/headlines.

Hope this helps :D

How much is Mexico worth in comparison to the us?

In terms of economic volume, Mexico has a much smaller economy than the United States with a GDP of US$1.68 trillion vs. US$15.29 trillion.

If you however, take into account standing external debt, things change in Mexico's favor, as you have to subtract such debt from the GDP:

  • US' net worth: US$15.29 trillion - US$15.83 trillion = US$ -0.54 trillion or US$ -540 billion.
  • Mexico's net worth: US$1.68 trillion - US$0.213 trillion = US$1.467 trillion

Will a 2000 Ford Escort ZX2 Transmission work on a 1998 Ford Escort ZX2?

All ZX2 transmissions are interchangeable.

The 97 and up Ford Escort Sedan manual transmission will fit the manual transmission ZX2 with minor modification. There are 2 or 3 transmission to engine bolts that will not line up. The starter mounting holes on the Sedan transmission are the same except one is threaded. The threaded hole will need to be drilled out to accept the starter bolts from the ZX2. Everything else lines up and works fine. It is important to note that the gearing in the Sedan is different. The gearing is taller and spaced farther apart. You will lose acceleration and gain MPG.

You cannot use the Sedan or any other Escort transmission if you have an automatic. The 4EAT (TC) transmission seems to be exclusive to the ZX2.

What is the best casino game in the US?

For me it's blackjack. It's so exciting and the fact that you play against the dealers add thrill. I also like roulette very much, but the American roulette has a higher house edge then the European roulette, so I prefer the latter.

A simile is a type of comparison that?

A simile is a type of comparison which is clearly a comparison, unlike the metaphor which is an implied comparison. It uses either the word 'like' or 'as'.

These are some examples of similes: She is like a shining star. The sky is vast as the thoughts of a god. The clouds are thin, like the smoke of a candle extinguished.

What are the pros and cons to a 1989 Camaro 2.8l?

Easy to find parts as most junk yards still have an abundance of Camaros hanging around, and there are a few fairly reliable sites dedicated to thirdgen parts, though slightly more expensive than the junk yards.

Fairly good on gas if it has been taken care of, and a turbo is fairly easily installed if you want a reasonable amount of performance (there is a lot of space to work around a 6 cylinder.) A throttle body spacer is also easily installed along with a k&n air filter, adding a few horse power because of improved air intake.... in short, the car is easily modded, and there is an abundance of support online on how to do so... switching the ignition coil out is also a good idea.

Lots of body mods and accessories available... the car just looks good pretty much no matter what you do to it.

Cons:

The 2.8 doesn't start out with a lot of balls, so if you ever intend on racing, and don't care too much about fuel efficiency, then an 8 cylinder is a better option than a 6 with a turbo, and switching it out later isn't really a smart idea financially.

Are large brakes on bicycle wheels more effective than smaller ones?

Generally, large brakes on bicycle wheels are more effective than smaller ones. A longer brake with more material has the ability to produce more friction on the tire because it covers a larger surface area. Sometimes a smaller brake with a far higher quality can work just as good or even better.

1994 dodge ram 2500 Cummins 12 valve blows oil out the dipstick uses 3-5 quarts every time using 15w-40 oil synthetic blend has 91k miles on it Whats wrong and how do you fix it?

Sounds like a lot of blow-by. Could be piston rings in one or more cylinders. With any of that going on your pretty much asking for an overhaul. Anything can make that happen, best bet is to tear it down and make sure it's only piston rings not a bad cylinder wall etc.
