190 degrees tops. A bad radiator cap ( 16 lbs) can cause engine to run 10 to 20 degrees hotter. Also a thermostat not opening when its supposed to. Mine was running at 210 to 230. Six dollar radiator cap and nine for a t-stat fixed it.

My thought is that 8 lugs indicate that you have 3/4 ton or possibly 1 ton wheels and axles while 5 lugs indicates that the wheels and axles are 1/2 ton variety.

Check around the air filter area (that's where it is on my car). I just noticed mine was bad. I have a scanner that is used to read codes and gives live sensor data. I noticed my intake air temperature was always showing from 170-172 degrees, regardless of outside air temperature and period of time that car was running. I hooked the scanner up to my truck and saw a more expected 45 degrees on this 40 degree day. Autozone (and several other auto parts chains) will hook up your vehicle for free to check this out.

Do computer check, some parts stores will loan you the computer to check your car. Check for spark at he plugs, pull a wire off one of the plugs and have someone start the car, hold the wire close to the plug, one eighth inch, look for a spark, if no spark, do the same thing at the coil, if no spark follow wires back to battery or jump directly from battery, if nothing, pull coil and have it tested at auto supply. If not electric, check for fuel coming from tank, disconnect fuel line and start car, if no fuel it's probably a bad fuel pump.

Follow upper radiator hose to engine should connect to a housing secured by 2 or 3 bolts--thermostat inside

It may be in the tank with the pump. Is the pump still working?

This for the 4x4 version, remove the caliper and brake assembly, remove the spindle nut (large bar or very large impact) remove the lower ball joint nut slowly with a jack under the ball joint and gently release the pressure on the suspension eventually lowering the jack. swing the wheel hub assembly a side and remove the axle. place the joint in a supported vise and remove the retainer clips that hold the u-joint stable in the joint housing, gently with a socket the same sixe of the u-joiny cap and a brass hammer pound the joint from the housing, install the new joint and reassembly in the reverse of disassembly. Be sure to torque the spindle not and replace all clips/kotter pins.
